The Inn On Sheridan

The location was great. Never felt unsafe or felt worried about my vehicle being left in the parking lot. The building was very nice. Coffee shop in the morning was great! Staff was amazing. They really are what made the stay there great! Loved the captain that shuttled us from the hotel to the Renaissance fair! He was great. It was a pleasant surprise that we did not know the hotel offered.

Not enough plugs in between beds. But the room weirdly had plugs in very odd spots. Lighting is awful in our room. Brighter lights would be so helpful. If you wear makeup bring a mirrored light and if you have bad sight good luck. It would be very helpful to have a shelf for the bathroom as the sink area is smaller. The shower curtain will hit your leg if u don’t put a towel to block it. Water runs out because the bottom lip does nothing. I believe it is for wheelchair accessibility but definitely could be a falling hazard. Housekeeping never came to our room so we had to ask for extra towels and tiny hand soaps. The good outweighs the bad though!

Beautiful decor! Friendly and helpful staff! General Manager offered great advice on things to see and do nearby and in Chicago. Great prices on jewelry and purses in the shop! Loved the selection!

Housekeeping process was not confusing. Have to put towels outside of door to get a fresh set. Had to go down and get TP at the front desk and garbage cans weren’t emptied, so not sure if housekeeping usually does not come in until after check? The two staff we saw in the hallways were very friendly though and always asked if we needed anything…towels were exchanged. There wasn’t much within walking distance and the restaurants and shops that were around seemed to open late and close early, so definitely need a rental car.

Beautiful location, quiet quarters, convenient appliances and facilities. Plan to return for any future trip nearby.

The bed was pretty stiff. Our timing was terrible so we missed the cleaning services (?) both mornings, so we didn't get refreshed toiletries, but that's mostly our fault. But maybe the way to request that cold be clear, I suppose. Very minor inconveniences that barely effected the stay.

property was clean! a simple, pretty hotel. the staff members were all friendly and helpful. I left my phone at the front desk and they sent someone to let me know vs. me searching all over for it. we were there an hour early and able to check in around 3!

no complaints - just something to note as I rely on reviews… there is free coffee from 6-10 am but no other breakfast other than what is for purchase at their coffee shop. the coffee shop is managed by front desk personnel so they may be busy. no pool or hot tub

They were very clean and super friendly! They allowed my pets and were very friendly with them. The balconies are a nice feature! They supplied doggy clean up bags!

The bed that we had was high in the middle and we leaning towards the edges. Our room was missing some simple things like a dirty clothes bag, extra ice bucket bag and the carpets felt a little damp.

the property was nice and calm. I felt at home immediately upon checking in and was able to sleep comfortably through the night. Service was exceptional and I was attended to in a timely manner always. The property was beautiful, inviting, and I wish I could have stayed another night.

my only issue with my room was that I was unable to close the blinds at night in order to decrease the amount of light coming from the gas station across the street. If I were able to do that next time, that would be perfect.

It was an unexpected quality hotel in a quiet and not very interesting location, to be honest. The hotel was far better than many we stayed at on the rest of our trip. The female desk person was exceptionally friendly, kind to absolutely everyone who was there and just a delight and we told her so.

The night clerk in comparison (to above) was a bit of a grump. Not the welcoming presence one wants to see when arriving tired and late to the property.

The beds -on each side of the mattress they slope down-hard to stay on the bed when sharing -it was like sleeping on a hill going down!

The hotel has a feeling of being at home! Beds were very comfortable and it was clean! Great WiFi. Staff was nice. I would book again if they didn't allow pets but wouldn't want to deal with the possibility of triggering my allergies.

I didn't realize that they welcomed pets and believe that the dog that I heard barking triggered my allergies....have to make sure that I check for pet policies the next time I book a stay. Also, their were children on my floor that were extremely loud and ran up and down the hall late at night.

The inn is very petite and artsy - very modern and ultra clean. Rooms are well appointed and supremely comfy and roomy. The balcony is narrow, so no romantic sitting out, views are of the ample parking and a treed back street. Peaceful and fresh air. Illinois beach 🏖️ a mile or so south, turn east at the Illinois beach hotel sign. Sadly the lovely Best western beach resort in the state park beach was shuttered as the State didn't renew their license. (Your tax dollars at work, more money, less service) ! The beach is comprised of lovely coves over a couple of miles.

The staff was a bit rigid about checking in at 4pm, they have some extra charge to check in early. There is free coffee in the morning 🌄, but a danish is $3. So a very small town hotel.
