Everything was clean, accessable, and better than the pictures show!! Our room was large, the breakfast was great, the pool area was so nice and extremely clean. We loved the fact that the pool area was open 6 am- 10 pm and that it had a kid pool, large pool and large hot tub. The check out time of 12 pm was so nice and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the good breakfast and one last swim before going home. There are 4 fast food places and 3 sit down restaurants as well as a gas station right beside the hotel which made everything really convenient. We will definitely plan to stay again if we are in the area!

Our one and only minor inconvenience was that the pool water was cooler than we like it but it didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.

Nice looking exterior. Kiddie pool looked like great fun for kids -- giant frog water slide. Easy to walk to adjacent Longhorn restaurant. Room was comfortable.

Front desk was unattended -- unless summoned by bell -- from the time of our arrival around 5 pm until our return from dinner around 8 pm. When summoned, the receptionist seemed to have no knowledge of the nature of the rooms or availability of a fold-up luggage rack when we requested one. (There was room to open only one suitcase on the built-in room furniture.) Although close to Indiana Dunes on a map, there is no sense of being near the park or the lake at this hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Was anywhere from 10-30min away from different attractions and beaches. Loved the pool area. Main reason we chose hotel for our little ones. Breakfast was good. Waffle makers great.

Price was a little high. There was some sticky stuff all over iron board in closest. Kind of looked like BBQ sauce…gross. Another condiment or something smeared on door between bedrooms. Our room wasn’t cleaned the first 3days and then cleaned everyday after that. Wasn’t sure if this was common practice or what.

Staff was great! Friendly & loved the breakfast staff.

It was too expensive for the facilities. $230 a night is what I would pay in Chicago for much nicer place. It’s a great comfortable place, but it is not worth $230 a night even with a free breakfast. I would go there again for $100-150 max. I will never pay $230 for this hotel again. There is no restaurant or bar or steam room. No adult only facilities. Kids in hot tub. Room was great and bed was comfy. Just not worth the price. You do have great staff. I hope you pay them well!

From the very beginning of my stay -- when I needed help getting the luggage trolley up to my room (thank you, Mel!) -- the people who work at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Portage, Ind., were helpful, professional, friendly, and nice. The room was comfortable (including the pull-out sofa bed) and easy to keep at a temperature that we liked. Very conveniently located for visiting botanical gardens and the dunes and Valparaiso. There were EV chargers (slow charge) at multiple locations in the community, so it was easy to do one last charge with our rental car overnight before we headed home.

The only thing that would have made our stay better was if it could have been longer. We look forward to visiting again someday! Thank you!

We absolutely loved your hotel. The rooms were clean, the pool area was perfect for our toddlers and our teenager. The hot tub was nice for my wife lol the breakfast bar is top notch for a free breakfast.

The staff was NOT friendly at all. It was a weekend and busy but you still have to remain friendly towards your customers. I asked for a trash bag and one of the house keepers was rather nasty about it. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful when we did not have to interact with staff.

The front desk young man, Ross, was EXCEPTIONAL!!! He truly understands what the hospitality business is all about and your company should be very proud of how represents Country Inn & Suites!!!!! Our room was great, the housekeeper was very pleasant when we asked for items, and very quick at getting them. We come here often mainly for the little ones to use the pool. We tried Best Western across the street.. one sentence.. WORST EVER EXPERIENCE . They knew we were there to try the splash pad. We get all settled, with 2 3 yr olds, and then go down to only find out the pool was being worked on and they didn't know for how long. We immediately packed up and came here. We will NEVER go there again. Besides the pool issue, our room was filthy with mud on blankets and pillowcases. Thank you for the awesome hospitality here!! Ross is very sweet, and really knows how to be hospitable. The breakfast was great along with the employee who was work it.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like.

We were traveling with our grandchildren and the one bedroom suite was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was a notch above most other hotels.

The pool was very busy and the water was a little green. I had read that there would be a dryer in our room, which would have been wonderful for drying clothes that got wet at the beach or the pool. However, there was no dryer.

I appreciated the extra effort by the manager to address my concerns

I didn't like that the toilet wouldn't flush and the room phone didn't work. I was also disappointed with being told there were no more rooms when I called to reserve another day. So I went back to booking.com and was told otherwise.

Newer hotel. Plenty of parking. The room was very nice. We just stayed for one night and didn't have a chance to use much of the facitilities. The bed was comfortable and we were well rested. Will stay here again next time we're in the area to visit family.
