Staybridge Suites Grand Rapids-Kentwood, an IHG Hotel

The front desk staff was great (MJ). The room was clean and well stocked with items needed for my stay. Everything was close as in restaurants and shopping. Had a great breakfast selection.

Only thing that I did not like the next day was called stating my credit card on file somehow got erased and needed information again. Which I did not give and felt kind of odd to me.

Staybridge is a beautiful place to stay. It’s clean and nicely decorated. The staff are friendly as very helpful. The kids loved the pool, the windows overlooking the pool and the pull out sofa bed. The adults loved separate bedrooms, the kitchenette and full size refrigerator. We did wish there was a better space for eating, 2 chairs and a very small round table in the living area didn’t work.

The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. We ended up spending a couple hundred dollars more going out to eat breakfast. The gardens and potted plants were in desperate need of weeding and the poor girl left to run everything by herself was so sweet and kind but looked bone tired and had a hard time keeping towels stocked for the pool.

the 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms was perfect and very comfortable for a group of girls celebrating. it is a short drive or Uber ride from downtown Grand Rapids, many stores and restaurants are just a couple minutes away. it is a beautiful hotel. the pool looked beautiful, I’m sad we didn’t have time to use it!

Awesome Experience during Stay

Not being able to pay our bill in full upon arrival was a issue. Since the room was booked in my name my partner could not use his card to pay the bill. We were told that the name on the registration had to be on the card utilized for deposit and/or payment. We secured the deposit however could not resolve billing until they received a decline on my credit card because they tried to process the deposit and entire bill to the card which upon check-in we were told had to be resolved with booking.com. The establishment did resolve the issue and took the payment we offered initially however this situation could have been avoided if the same process of accepting payment processed through daytime shift was used during the check-in process during the late night shift.

We booked through a discount site (I think it was booking.com) and got a 2-room suite for an incredible rate. For such a good price, my expectations weren't great, but the entire experience was amazing. The rooms were great, the bathrooms and water pressure were wonderful, and the grounds (pool and outdoor area) are beautiful. The breakfast was very good, and it was available later than 9:00 am (some hotels seem to end it so early, which is difficult when you have kids). I would absolutely stay here again.

Payment system should have flexibility for customers to pay for full stay up front rather than have their cards authorized and charged at intervals.

We stayed in a two bed suite and we were very comfortable sleeping in our beds! The breakfast was so good! Also, I am doing a fitness program called 75 hard and their gym and outside safe walking paths were perfect for my needs.

The room felt like a home. It was very spacious and had a lot of amenities. I did not expect a microwave, fridge and a stovetop. I spent more time then expected in hotel so I was happy to have had all that extra stuff to keep me okay for the days I was there.

Honestly I didn’t see any problem with the room. The light switch in the room didn’t work but then again it did have two very bright lamps so it wasn’t even really an issue.

this was a great hotel an the manager was exceptional!!!! he was short staffed and was running all over the place but always friendly and helpful. Can not say enough good about him or our stay.

The hotel seems a little older, but it was clean, in an excellent location, friendly staff, great breakfast and, although we didn’t bring our dog, the hotel is animal friendly.
