The hotel staff was superb! They were so helpful and friendly. There were lots of options for breakfast and I think anyone could find something to eat, regardless of dietary restrictions. Room was clean and newly upgraded. OH! And, since I know that I wish I knew, there are no smells! Some people have scent issues and there were no smells of perfumes, chemicals, or rank nastiness detected!

Well, the only thing we weren't really fans of were the newly upgraded sinks. figuring out how to lift the drain plug was a fun challenge! But we finally figured out that you just push on it and it pops right up! Then we started thinking about what one might be wading through in the water in order to perform that function and it got less fun to think about! :-) But, hey, it was REALLY a great stay!

Good and helpful staff at a good breakfast. Close to gas and snack offerings. Close to Bluefin for very good if pricy food.

Had a bad experience with renting a room in April offering me a discount to match another lower lodging. Did not read small print about this meaning no refunds, So I am out nearly $2000 and had to accept their last room at $1100 which made for aa real downer on my trip.

It was a nice stay. The rooms were clean and included a fridge for our water and snacks. We enjoyed the hot tub after a day of sightseeing. This hotel is a great value for a room on the North Shore. It was close to the Lutsen Gandola and other sights. We'll stay again. The breakfast was a good start to the day.

There wasn't anything to complain about.

Room was large and comfortable, overlooking a wooded area in back. There was a nice, grassy area along the side for dogs.

The staff, with the exception of the desk clerk on day of checkout, were not very friendly or helpful. Upon check in, the clerk said she couldn’t give any Wyndham points because it was booked through Booking.com. After some discussion, she did give the points.

Everything was great really. They have a Pool, hottub and a sauna. Breakfast was as expected. Clean & welcoming place.

Really, the only complaint I have is my mattress was lop-sided, And very uncomfortable. As I was laying down I would roll downward due to the mattress being low on one side and high on another and would wake up everytime. Which resulted in poor sleep more so than usual sleeping in a different place, other than home. That's about all.

The parks on the North Shore feature rivers. Snow melt has raised river levels and the waterfalls were the most impressive I recall. Tofte is in the midst of this. Superb hiking.

No complaints. A bit wet underfoot for many hikers in spots. Temperatures in the 50s. Dress for it and it's just fine As for the Tofte Americinn, I've stayed there three times and the property was in great shape. Some wet paint signs, but not an issue.

Breakfast was OK; would have liked more whole-grain choices, and some meat/eggs/bacon as in previous stays at AmericInns - however, again (see below) we know it was the off-season and lower staff, and we appreciate the good breakfasts that were provided, and the friendly service/courtesy of the staff.

LOVE the pool and spa at most AmericInns. The one at Tofte was undergoing rehab/reno/maintenance, which is fine - all pools need it at times, and the off-season is the best time to do it. But disappointed to arrive and have no pool (and no view of the Lake, which is from the pool area.) Knowing this up front would have been helpful, and it would NOT have influenced our making a reservation at AmericInn.

Good location for golfing at Superior National. Views of lake Superior were good.

Like most places they have staffing issues for housekeeping. That didn't bother us, but may be an issue for others so thought I'd mention it.

I've stayed here many times and always have been treated well. Its location is ideal for seeing all the parks and hiking is available right out the door! Good clean place and excellent service!

Breakfast was very nice. Many selections, good coffee and plenty of seating.

I could hear a exhaust fan that ran continuosly.. had to close the bathroom door so as not to hear it. Other than that, the room was very quiet.
