My first time to EC hoping to possibly move there in the near future. Perfect location for walking around downtown EC, the house is over 200 yrs old which I love. The whole house had great character and my room exceeded my expectations. Very cozy and the breakfast was very good. Patrick the owner is a wonderful gentleman and a pleasure to speak with. Very impressed of him running everything including cooking the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
There happened to be one waterbug that Patrick took care of (near the ceiling which I couldn't reach nor wanted to haha) and confirmed he exterminates monthly. A lot of rain fell just before arriving and the age of the house goes without saying.

Patrick was very accommodating, professional and friendly. He's doing a great job helping revitalize Elizabeth City by providing such enjoyable stays to his guests who are in town to check out EC and the surrounding areas. Patrick has great menu choices and he's an excellent breakfast cook as well! All items on menu are good sized portions and delish.
Everything was great. Can't always be perfect. Maybe the fridge and freezer was a little dirty. Someone's old peach and open bottle of water. No big but you "made" me :) put something down here.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Patrick (proprietor) was an amazing host. This historic house is well-maintained, and the beds are so comfortable. However, the highlight of our stay was the breakfast! It was killer. Patrick made the BEST biscuits and gravy I’ve ever eaten. We will definitely be staying here again when we are back in the area.

The owner was kind, personable, and informative. The home is beautifully refurbished, furnished, and decorated. We enjoyed the old and new tastefully combined for a beautifully eclectic relaxing atmosphere where, guests took the time to become acquainted with each other, and the owner. The breakfast is wonderful!

The room was lovely. There was a living room and a bedroom. The home is one of the oldest in Elizabeth City. The host was delightful, bed comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Blue Ruby is everything you want in a Bed and Breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here.

Was an amazing stay. Everything about it was great. I'm all about breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was perfect. Since I live in the historic district in my town, I could totally relate to older homes and thier character. GREAT STAY!

The location is great for Elizabeth City. Walking distance to the quaint downtown. Great food suggestions from our innkeeper. Breakfast was very good and Patrick served us right on time.
I really cannot complain about anything.

The breakfast was excellent. Our host took time to visit with us and make suggestions about activities. We travelled with friends and we all liked the company of Lazy, a 13 year old rescue dog.
