Americas Best Value Inn and Suites Bismarck

Was passing through and needed a place to rest. Just wanted a cheap hotel room but previous stays in other America's Best Value's have left me weary. This place however hit the spot, clean, safe and front desk was super friendly. Breakfast was better than I expected, a decent spread that was good value for the room $$. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay and would stay here again if in the area. It's a basic room and hotel but it was clean, quiet, friendly and provided me with the rest I needed.

Nothing, can't complain, value provided in spades.

When I checked in, I asked if they do late check out and he said yeah and said when did you want to check out and I asked what’s the latest and he said 1pm. So I said great, I’ll check out at 1pm. Next day, cleaning people came in around 11ish, our door was latched so they couldn’t get in because we were still waking up and slowly getting ready to leave. So around 11:47, the front desk called and said check out time is 11am, so I said we did the late check out, whoever checked me had said 1pm, then she said nope late check out is noon. So we basically hauled ass and quickly packed and got ready to get out of there by 12:06pm.

You can tell when people care about the place when every little detail is perfect. We stayed in room 111. The building is surrounded by beautiful plants, with no weeds to be found. The white ceiling paint met the grey wall paint precisely. The carpet looked new, and was put in in-line with the walls. The toiletries were really nice. Both front desk people we met were friendly. The sheets are poly-cotton, not the horrid microfibre ones you find in other places. Typical hotel noise.

American breakfast. I don’t think good bread is easily found. Salted gravy on salty biscuits with fluffy salted scrambled eggs.

Breakfast was fine, some fresh fruit would have been nice but overall it was fine. I was happy to have coffee and some eggs and sausage.

There were some blood stains on the comforter but we decided not to say anything to the person manning the desk because we arrived at 11:30 p.m. and it was about midnight by the time we were showered and in bed and were exhausted and didn’t want to pack up again. Overall (minus the stains on the comforter) it was very clean and comfortable. When we walked into the lobby checking in though there was a heavy smell of marijuana and all through the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke, but our room smelled fresh so we didn’t let it bother us too much.

It was the quietest place I have ever stayed and I could really get a good nights sleep. The location was so central to all that I did it was great. The breakfast was good and tasted great. The people at the check in desk and the maids I met in the hallway were very nice and helpful. I would stay there again for sure and have already told friends. I am glad I booked it.

There were some minor things but nothing in comparison to the over nice stay that I had there.

From my experience, excellent hotel staff always makes our stays better. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. I especially like the fact that someone is available 24/7 for assistance. The boys really enjoyed the swimming pool. The walls are thick so you can't hear people in the next room. I know that's a random observation but hey if you stay in a lot of hotels you know what I mean. The beds were very comfortable and that is very important to help get good sleep on the road. It was a good weekend thanks.

The breakfast was subpar. The first day the orange juice machine didn't taste right. The sausages were not quite done. The second morning, the only warm option was waffles. We had to wait for refills on various items like yogurt, fruit and waffle mix. But other than the wait time. It was ok.

The hotel is conveniently located, has good options for breakfast, is great for pets, has quiet rooms and is very reasonably priced. The appliances worked well and I was extremely happy to see a refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment that actually refroze my ice packs. I would recommend it for travelers with or without pets.

The television wasn't working but I got in late enough that it didn't really matter to me. The refrigerator racks were put back together in such a way to prevent proper use of the refrigerator door. Once I figured it out, it worked fine. The room was stocked with two conditioner packets and no shampoo.

I thought the room was very clean, especially for the price I paid. I have paid the same amount (and more) for other hotels and it smells like cigarettes and mold. The room smelt like it was recently cleaned. Everything in the room was also in good condition (no chips, stains, tears, ect.)

I think the breakfast in the morning could have been better. I would have liked a wider variety of cereal and hot items.

We have stayed here many times, and it's has always been great. This time, we were in a newly remodeled room, and it was awesome. Have never had a bad room, and his was a bonus! Loved the new lamps where you just plug your phones into the port. Everything was comfortable. Breakfast was awesome, potatoes, sausage, eggs, toast, and many other things.

Absolutely nothing. I noticed the price went up a bit, but it's still a great value for an overnight stay.
