Holiday Inn Express Portland West/Hillsboro, an IHG Hotel

The front desk team and management are exceptional - a secret in-suite birthday gift was delivered prior to our arrival (thank you!) and the check-in process was easy. The breakfast was sensational: a full continental breakfast with pancakes, oatmeal, sausages, cereal, juice, yogurt and more: it started each day of our stay off on the right foot. I left a jacket in the closet, and the manager was super helpful in helping to get it packed up and taken to a shipping depot where I could arrange for it to be shipped back to me.

Good selection of breakfast items - love the pancake machine. Conveniently situated in the central Orenco section of West Hillsboro which is a lovely tree-lined neighborhood. Short walk to light rail station, restaurants, shopping and parks. Ample free parking. Spacious room with a large HD television on a movable wall-mounted stand. Work desk on wheels that can be moved.

The coffee is so so. Would like more choice than just medium roast both in the room and in the lobby/breakfast area. Suggest an additional dark roast option. The in-room sofa, while a nice addition to have, had super soft cushions that made it quite uncomfortable to sit on.

EVERYTHING! I love it because it was in the middle of everything and they workers were so nice. The place was clean with the exception of the blanket, which smelt like body OB. But we just simply separated it with a second sheet we brought.

I wish there was a heater fan in the bathrooms lol. However, being able to completely open the bedroom windows made it very satisfying. Usually hotels have limitations to have far the windows open.

The breakfast was very good. There was a good selection of food on offer. The location is close to the MAX line and can be useful when travelling into the town centre. The staff was polite and available to ensure you had a good stay.

The facility itself is looking tired and needs an update. The rooms are clean but tired/old. The air conditioner was noisy and has a mind of its own. It was hard to regulate the temperature within the room. There was a bulb missing near the main door to the room. This could be an odd case!

#1 that the room smelled so bad like sewer. I then had to move in to another Room. In the morning I found my bill by the door and It showed $20 more on it then I was originally quoted. Also my bill was paid before I even checked in it was taken out of my account 3 days before. . #2 I also reserved a room for the weekend after and it said that I do not have to pay for it until a certain date but yet they took out very early the total amount. I'm just asking myself are they going to put another extra $20 at checkout time?

When we walked through the front door the decor was nice and so inviting. The gal working at the front desk was super friendly & helpful. The room was larger than most that I have stayed in when traveling. It was arranged perfectly so it seemed really cozy & nice.The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. It was so soft & comfy. The Hotel, Staff, & Room were all AMAZING! I Loved everything about this place. We were even given an early check-in without asking & at no extra charge. Who does that?? The next time there is another weekend of work available through my company, I'm going to jump on it for sure so I can stay at The Holiday Inn Express again. I Can't Wait! Love- Love- Loved it!

There isn't one bad thing I can say about my stay. Everything was Great!

Great central location. Friendly staff. Pretty good free breakfast.Clean, pretty spacious rooms.

Television was hard to use. Seemed like the staff person who came up didn’t really have it figured out either, but I guess the hotel was transitioning to another system. I thought price was a little high, for being mid week, but didn’t realize how many Intel people stayed there, filling them up. I really like a pool and jacuzzi, when I travel.

Perfect location, lovely room, responsive front desk and maintenance when I made a request, I would definitely stay there again if and when I return to Hillsboro!!

one or two front desk persons were not friendly and not at all helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. One did not know where the train was and it was only two blocks away, but perhaps she was very new. One said she didn't live in the area was why she didn't know. I did consider that it was a business person's hotel, therefore normally they don't ask 'tourist' questions, however there were many families and senior type citizens.

I had an extended stay at this property due to an unexpected illness while traveling. It fit my needs perfectly. Beds and linens were very comfortable. Morning efficiency breakfast had a nice variety of options, both hot and cold. Staff was continuously cleaning everything! Everyone was professional and friendly. I’d definitely stay here again!

Christian was AMAZING!! We came to Portland area from Sequim, WA to visit family and we forgot my husband’s wheelchair!! Christian went above and beyond helping us to figure out how to manage this unfortunate mess. He let us borrow a rolling chair from the office and was so sweet about it. We were so embarrassed and he acted like it was no big deal. Thank you so much Christian!! We appreciate your kindness and ingenuity!!
