Hilton Garden Inn Wilkes-Barre

Very modern and clean hotel. The room was large, the decorations looked elegant and modern. The beds were comfortable, even the bedding was smoother and more comfortable than what I have experienced at other hotels. The lobby looked very fancy and we were impressed by all the amenities that we unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy. The girl at the front desk in the morning was extremely nice. I think her name was Shirley or Sheryl. She had a smile on her face that was just what I needed when I checked out! The Hilton just has a different - higher - standard than other hotels. Very happy with this hotel and will be sure to book it again when we're in the area.

I love the location with restaurants and Walmart so close by. The hotel is always very clean and I've been there multiple times and it's consistent. The staff are always very kind and helpful. I like that there is a jacuzzi and pool. Great hotel.

I literally only have one complaint. I've visited the hotel during every season. In the very hot summer and freezing winters. I do not like the heating/AC system. It appears as if each room has their own access and control, but that is not the case. I've gone in the winter where the heat is up so high we could barely breathe and none of us were able to sleep because we were sweating and so uncomfortable. In the summer we tried to put the AC on because the room was so hot but it is fixed and you cannot change it. I was there yesterday and spent one night and we were so hot and uncomfortable. It was the first time I considered possibly looking for another hotel. Which I would hate to do because I really love everything else about the hotel. I wish that could just be fixed.

I loved the way it looked, and the room, bed and everything was comfortable and amazing. It’s definitely worth it the only thing wrong was truly just super super small things that didn’t impact our stay at all, I would honestly stay here all the time and the location was immaculate!

Some things were not kept up or cleaned… the gym was small & definitely wasn’t cleaned for awhile (the bathroom i mean) & there was a cupboard in our room that was falling apart, and the hair dryer was not good at all…

It was very welcoming and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the room was quiet and cozy clean. However for the price paid I find it absolutely ridiculous that we had to pay for breakfast on top of paying for the stay! We were in two different hotels of the same class in Ohio last weekend and neither place had an extra charge for breakfast! I find this a little off putting.

Didn't like the fact that after paying for the overnight accomodations that we had to pay a rather generous charge for breakfast as well

Location was great. Easy access to interstate, shopping, and restaurants.

Woman who checked us in kept us waiting while she restocked soda in store. Didn't smile or welcome us when she finally decided to help us. She couldn't find our reservation, even after I spelled our name 3 times. Told us no one would be refreshing our room daily, or providing towels. If we needed anything we were to call the desk. Same woman checked us out. We stood waiting, only to realize she was stooped down behind the counter ignoring us. No greeting or thank you. She needs to find another occupation.

the breakfast prices was a little bit much $15 for buffet and you had a small choices of waffles and pastries and if you order you can’t itemize it example I wanted pancakes eggs and bacon for my daughter off the kids menu but you can only get pancakes and bacon OR eggs I asked how much was it more to add the eggs said they couldn’t best they could do was a small stack side eggs and side bacon which was almost $15-$20

The hotel was quite good, but not exceptional. We had a restful night and pleasant stay. The front desk staff were very pleasant. The hotel was safe, parking was easy, and amenities were adequate.

The staff in the dining room wanted to charge us for our breakfast, though we had paid extra on booking.com for the breakfast included. The food was OK, but not exceptional. The portion size was good, but the flavour only mediocre. The coffee was empty when I went for a second cup (the first cup was very good), and fruit was nearly depleted. The dining room was pleasant and comfortable. The front desk recognised our booking.com receipt showing breakfast included, so we were not charged. The pillows also were OK, but one too fluffy and the other not fluffy at all; nothing terrible, just not as comfortable as we might expect.

front desk staff was extremely friendly. The cleanliness of the hotel as a whole was very commendable.

felt the staff who provided the “breakfast” was NOT friendly or approachable. Not sure if they were just having a bad day, but definitely DID NOT match the energy and welcoming feeling from front desk staff. Room did have a “stench” to it when u first walked in, even tho it was non smoking, but it was nothing too crazy. Did not have housekeeping services, not sure if it had to be scheduled, but had a mound of garbage and dirty towels. Maybe just needed to see the hotel policy on housekeeping.

The property was extremely clean, comfortable and the indoor pool was a nice extra for the kids.

For the price, the $14.95 breakfast should’ve been included. It was the very same continental breakfast that is included at other hotels… you wouldn’t have to have 2 employees “policing” the breakfast area that way

I liked that the room had a fridge and microwave, although we didn’t use the microwave, as well as coffee/coffee machine (which we didn’t use either). the bed was comfortable. the lady who checked us in was super friendly as was the lady who checked us out. I liked the fact there was a USB charging outlet, which I used. although I didn’t use all the Neutrogena products in the bathroom, that was a nice brand of personal care products to have available and the different types of products.

the room had a weird kind of musty smell to it. it smelled a little like urine. the placement of the toilet paper was very difficult and awkward to reach!! the pillows were WAY too soft!
