A good location for exploring McDonald Observatory. Rooms were well equipped, comfortable and clean . The staff person, Ms. Patel was sweet and very helpful. Breakfast was ample and included Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches . If you're looking for really fresh and delicious Mexican food, try Lupita's which is in walking distance. (Just a heads up Lupita's is cash only.) Sign up for a night sky activity at the McDonald's Observatory nearby. If you're not familiar with the plants in the area, pay a visit to the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute. They have a Botanical Garden and Nature Center.
It was all good, though not the best coffee I've ever had, lol!

I was very impressed with how quiet the property was at night and how clean and comfortable the room was during my stay. Usual decent amenities and excellent shower hot water flow. There is a small market and some restaurants nearby
Breakfast offerings were very limited. Had a pancake maker but it wasn't operating. Maybe due to the season there weren't sufficient numbers of guests to offer better options. Inconsistent service at the front office. Specific individual seemed annoyed when I had to ring the door bell because the front office door was locked during breakfast hours. Another individual was helpful. The room exceeded my expectations but certain individuals at the front office need to be more hospitable.

We were on our way to Big Bend. We originally planned to stay in Marfa but it was very cold that night. This place was perfect. Super clean, comfortable and easy to check in and out. The beds were comfortable and there was a light breakfast in the morning. Perfect place to break up the long drive to Big Bend from San Antonio.
Nothing really this town just does not have many dining options.

Owner/manager went beyond my expectations. One of the nights I came back to the motel late, and realized all of the restaurants in the town had closed. The owners provided me with full meal from their own kitchen. They are very prompt to help out. Any travelers visiting the Marfa, Alpine, Ft. Davis triangle would probably be driving around all day and then would need a comfortable bed afterwards. This place will take care of that for you. I would also highly recommend visiting McDonald Observatory, which is about 20 min from the motel. Reserve a spot for star party. Check out the picture of the Milky Way I took, from the observatory.
Water was draining slowly from the sink and bath tub. But I am guessing by now the owner has fixed it. Besides this there was nothing else. I would highly recommend this place. It is the best bang for your buck.

Nicely renovated! Great location close to the Davis Mountain State Park. The beds were comfortable and so nice to crawl into after a Star Party at the McDonald Observatory.
Our TV didn't work but that was ok. We weren't really in the room that much. The front desk said they would try to fix it.

very clean property with wonderful bedding which is most important to me, nice breakfast available. great proximity to town and to the observatory. on a quiet road with a good view of the mountains. Even had deer around the property! tv in the room was bigger than my tv at home and seemed brand new.
needed a table lamp on nightstand. bathroom fan wasn't working but has probably already been fixed.

Rooms were updated and VERY clean on our visit. We ended up not staying for two nights as the whole town was closed down - except for one o.k. restaurant - until our initial departure day. The Inn was very accommodating and refunded us for the second night as we were not staying with nothing to do after the observatory star party. Super friendly staff. Based on our visit I would definitely recommend considering this facility for your stay. They did provide a breakfast, but we hit the road and did not check it out.

We liked this room. It was decorated very cute and was extremely clean. The breakfast was nice. We ate both mornings. I liked that we parked right outside our doorway.
Staff wasn't very friendly, but it wasn't a big deal. They just seemed very shy and reserved. There should have been a small lamp or sconce to have dimmer lighting options at night.

It was very modern, ac worked great, Hot water for showers, good breakfast served with coffee and the price for the stay was reasonable.
Please get a Pool put in! We would have stayed here all weekend instead of 1 night if there had been a pool. I don’t know if the shower curtains are washed between stays - They should be if they are not - because ours was moldy.

The location was lovely and plenty of outside space, with tables provided. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Laundry services very welcome.
Breakfast was good, but space provided not enough for so many guests so it was a bit chaotic!
