Route 66 Inn

Staff friendly. Very reasonably priced.

The door to room 102 doesn’t bolt from inside. If you don’t press the door shut just right, it isn’t closed. We woke to the door ajar from the wind blowing it open. Tricky to close just right. We still felt safe, just wish the second bolt worked to keep the door locked from the inside for extra security. If I was traveling alone I wouldn’t have stayed the second night or requested a different room. No closet or area to hang our jackets or cloths we had in our travel clothing bag.

It was quiet and affordable. The staff was very friendly. The thought of the history of travelers that have stayed here is truly an amazing thought. I met a family that is traveling the whole route 66 from Illinois to California and how excited they were as they had not been in Texas before. It's easy to forget the simple things in life and this made me remember.

That there wasnt many restaurants near that were open. All of the pavement. The door needed weather stripping to keep out the beetles. There were flies. The air conditioner was up high so had to stand on a chair.

Route 66 Inn has a lot of vintage charm, rooms are updated, clean, and well maintained. It's a classic, budget-friendly Route 66 motel. The motel manager was very helpful and sensitive to my family member with disabilities.

I have no complaints regarding the Inn or the charming rural town of Shamrock, which has copious eatery options, and the neatest grocery and hardware store combo right downtown called Market Square

Driving from Washington to Tennessee - all i needed was a place for myself and kids to sleep and use a bathroom. And this place is perfect. A room with two beds,heat,bathroom,tv and microwave. We literally didn’t need anything else since we were there to stay very long. Very clean. I couldn’t figure out the heat situation and after just a minute of calling, he was right over to fix it. Would definitely stay here again if we ever pass through.

I would say location but even that wasn’t a deal breaker for me because as soon as we got to our room we didn’t leave. We always travel prepared with snacks and water.

Great staff, great location, quiet

Older hotel, little run down. Expected more route 66 theme inside rooms, but no decor in rooms at all. Just a few pictures out in parking lot. Trash cans overflowing out side rooms the few days we were there.

The staff was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and properly stocked. A great place to rest and relax, especially for the price. The most comfortable beds I've slept in.

There was no where to hang up clothes that we didn't want wrinkled, church type clothes.

The question was about breakfast. We did not have breakfast available at the inn.

Not a complaint, rather a sign of the charm of staying in an independent hotel. See photo below. We wondered why the folding chair was there, until we tried the a/c and needed the controls.

very,very clean comfortable and large room, a good old park right at your door motel, great location right on Historic Route 66 (just down the road from the "Tower Conoco" and "U-Drop-Inn"), a really great value

Nice size room and clean also staff was super sweet and helpful. Great price as well.

I had a lil trouble with ac unit not being on and didn't know how to turn it on but staff was super helpful just took a good while to cool the big room off but all was well.

This is my favorite place to stay along the 40. Has everything I need: fridge, microwave, ac, hot water, coffee maker. The bed is clean and comfy. Easy to get in easy to leave. And they are there 24 hrs because I always come in after midnight.
