Monticello is a pretty busy highway spot. Other places we have stayed have been very noisy. However, the Wayside is made of brick, and the rooms are set back from the road a bit. It was a really nice restful stay. The rooms were solidly built, clean, and quiet.

They still don't have breakfast, and the pool is still not open. Understandable; maybe one day after the "plague" is over! Also, when we got there a bit early, there was no-one there, and the place looked deserted. Didn't see a sign on the front door, although later I saw one behind the main entrance (there is no-one there until 3 usually). However, the owner came in and was kind enough to let us check in early, which was very much appreciated.

I liked that they had a room available with 3 queen size beds. The motel was older, but clean and in good condition.

The desk clerk (possibly the owner, older gentleman) was a bit curt, not very friendly or welcoming. He definitely gave the impression that he was not pleased that we needed to check in late (10:20 pm)—which we let him know about by calling ahead before we arrived. I think he needs to hire a younger person who is willing to work after 10 pm to help the guests that are up after his bedtime.

Incredibly nice staff, very comfortable bed and very clean. Even the parking lot was noticeably clean. New owners who are changing the name and are already planning some upgrades.

Even though things are outdated, they are still comfortable and functional. Owners have multiple updates planned.

Friendly staff, adequately clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, travel size toiletries and coffee provided. Mini fridge and microwave. Easy parking.

Drain in the shower was slightly clogged, but it was no problem and not unsanitary in any way.

The room was very clean. It had all the amenities such as flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, wifi.

Because it was next to the main road into town from Colorado it was somewhat noisy. Not a big problem.

Owner was most accommodating by printing shipping labels for us. I hope that the new owners are very successful!

A quiet place to stay for the evening. Easy getting around town. Clean rooms. About an hour to the Four Corners.

Pets are allowed in some rooms.. some bark. Not a lot of choice for food in the area.

The price and location were good.

The office personnel were quite unfriendly. The checkout instructions were nonexistent. With no one in the office, we had no idea where to leave the keys. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The floor would have been more soft. We will not stay there again.

Clean. Comfortable beds, good size room, good lighting. So nice and quiet.

Bathroom fan did not work. Not a big deal but does offer a little more privacy when the bathroom is being used.

Maybe check on little details of the room, like needing a newer sink or calking near the shower next to the tub. Needs some repair.
