The towering cottonwood trees create a ambience in the desert. Although in June the cotton is blowing! This place is obviously well run. Lovely shaded grounds and the pool hot tub a bonus! The rooms are very clean although a bit dated (That doesn't bother me). Beds and bedding were very very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well and we were not bothered by its white noise. Coffee and tea are free in the store and deli on the grounds where you can also pick up breakfast and lunch. We loved our in town location while exploring Capitol Reef!

The coffee in the store is great, but not available/open until 7 AM.

We had breakfast at the deli. It was a good meal and the coffee was excellent. Staff were polite and competent. It was a perfect start to a long day. Value was reasonable. Bedding and beds were excellent , it was a pleasant sleep.

Pave the entire parking lot please. We could have used laundry services, that would have been a bonus. We thought that the flowers were a nice touch and appreciated how close we were to our rooms. Some residents were smokers and we could smell the smoke next to our rooms, that’s a hard one to fix though.

Torrey is a small town but there are some restaurants and shops near to the hotel. The location was great for Capitol Reef and scenic hwy 12. Room was clean.

Terrible soundproofing between rooms! I could hear the people talking on either side of our room as well as the people walking above us.

Everything was really nice. We loved staying in the cabin. The faculty was really nice. The general store was good. Location was great. Overall no complaints!

Probably the only complaint I’d have is their hard fast rule about if you aren’t gone by checkout at 11 they will charge you another nights stay price. I don’t know exactly how serious they are about that cause we didn’t test it. But that’s at least what they say on their paper.

The breakfast, although not included, was good and fresh and the coffee was on the house.

Someone had parked in our spot and we were forced to park in someone else's spot when we first arrived and were unloading. The front desk called us and we were immediately heading out for dinner. The front desk told us to knock on the door of the cabin next to ours and tell the guest that we were out of their way. That irritated me. It isn't my job to inform their guest of anything. We left for dinner, the guy who parked in our space was gone and the cabin next door had parked where they were supposed to when we came back so we could park where we were supposed to. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

Austin's Chuckwagon was a very pleasant surprise! I have been burned before by "Motels" that got glowing reviews and turned out far short of expectations. Austin's exceeded all expectations by a wide margin. We stayed in a 2-bedroom cottage that was cute, clean and comfortable. If you're expecting luxury accommodations in Torrey, UT, you need to reset those expectations. But if you need a nice room (or cottage) near Capitol Reef, this place should be at the top of your list. There's also a small deli on site where you can get snacks, coffee and all kinds of "general store" stuff, and the people there are friendly and efficient. Stay here when you're in Torrey and you'll get a good room at a good price.

WiFi is the bane of a lot of mom-and-pop motels, and that's the case here. WiFi seemed to be fine in the main 2-story building and the deli. But out in the cottages, it pretty much sucked. Yeah, I know, leave work behind, but these days when touring, we like to do some research on what we're going to see the next day and on things that we've seen. A mesh router with enough satellites would probably work well here. But hey, if that's the only thing I can complain about, it should tell you that Austin's is a great place to stay!

The motel was far and above what we expected. Comfortable, clean,and staff super helpful. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a long day of hiking. On site laundry was an added bonus and the burger truck!!!!! Best burgers we’ve ever had! We would HIGHLY recommend and the little diner in The general store went above and beyond!!

Super friendly and helpful staff at check-in - thank you Bill! Pointed out good restaurants, had a super friendly manner. The cabin had two nice bed rooms, a living space and a well equipped kitchen. The on-site deli and store was great, the staff also very helpful and friendly. We pre-ordered lunch boxes for the following day which were ready for pick up when the deli opened at 7am. The pool was unfortunately closed for maintenance but we had been informed of this well before arrival.

Fantastic hotel, so cozy and comfy. We loved the area. General store and laundry in front of the hotel. Chairs to sit in in front of your room. We had a deer walk up into the parkinf lot while we were sitting there! Nice staff and we cant wait to go back sometime to stay again! Rooms very clean and great location to Capitol Reef National Park

Although we were just driving through, we really enjoyed our stay at Austin's. It's a lovely little gem of a place. There are cabins and a motel court situated in quite a pretty locale near to Capitol Reef and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. My son had a quick dip in their pool which was chilly on the night we were there, but a good size. We had breakfast the next morning at their little restaurant and it was quite yummy and a good value. Their general store is well stocked and convenient as well. We would enthusiastically stay here again!

My husband was bummed their cable line-up didn't include any sports channels.
