Hampton Inn Alexandria

When we initially arrived, we were assigned a room (by an unfriendly clerk) on the first floor that was extremely humid, and smelled strongly of mold and mildew… being very allergic to mold, I was unable to accept this room. We were then assigned to a room with a bed and pull out couch… my friend and I both have bad backs… the next day, I spoke with the hotel staff members, Joseph and Karina Re: what I had requested, and what I had experienced so far… they found us a Great room, and made the stay here very pleasant. I truly believe we would have had to leave if it had been left up to the first, admitting clerk discretion to accommodate us. Joseph and Karina are two, true Assets to this facility.. Joseph shared so much insight on how to handle transportation to my sight seeing trip.. Btw, the breakfast staff is also very nice and accommodating.

Starting with the staff at the front desk the gentleman was absolutely wonderful. They noticed I had wanted a handicap room and not only did the front desk clerk work to make sure I was able to get the room I needed because of mobility issues but the manager, an absolutely wonderful woman came out to reassure me that they would make the accommodation needed to make sure I was comfortable. Then when I came back downstairs to find out where I could get some water the gentleman at the front desk gave me two bottles and let me know that the fantastic cookies, I smelled cooking would be ready at 5 pm which I made sure to be downstairs to get. I thought the cookies were a really terrific touch along with the coffee that was still available. The parking was convenient even when I came back later in the evening from dinner. I have traveled extensively for work and personal enjoyment and found this hotel to be one of my absolute favorites for the caring consideration that everyone I encountered provided, for the great breakfast and the comfortable room and bed. I highly recommend The Hampton Alexandria and look forward to visiting that hotel again.

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like about my stay here. It was really one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've had in quite some time.

This was a great location for our one day trip to DC. It was close enough to hop on the highway and be in DC in 15-30 minutes depending on traffic, and close enough to park at a local mall to take the subway into the city if we had chosen to. Room was very clean, comfy and had microwave and fridge and lots of great storage in the bathroom, closet, and room. it was a great use of the space. Beds/pillows/linens were comfy. Our safe didn't work, but we only stayed one night, so it wasn't a big issue and we forgot to inform the front desk. Breakfast had several selections and was really tasty. They kept everything well stocked and fresh right up until the end of free breakfast at 10am - which was another great bonus to allow our teens to sleep a bit later in the morning. Free coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby 24/7 was really appreciated. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and happy. We would definitely stay again. The only reason for 8 stars and not 10 is that the room was pricey for 2 doubles, but compared to those in DC itself, we saved a lot and we were very happy with our stay. There was a stain on the carpet in our room that looked like a coffee or hot cocoa spill, but the room was immaculate, so I assume it was something that happened right before our stay and they haven't gotten time to do a full carpet clean yet. Parking was great and there are lots of places to eat nearby, stores,.etc. We would absolutely stay again.

Great location. Close to eateries and close enough to DC. Staff... "Z" was very friendly, outgoing and graciously accommodated us with early check-in. Renard was also very friendly and engaging. Asked for restaurant recommendations outside normal chains and he recommended CARLYLE's. I called and they said they couldn't accommodate my party of 10. It was 8:30 and they closed at 11pm. I informed Renard and he took matters in his own hands. Made a call, gave us the managers name and we were booked to arrive 15 minutes later. Appreciated him and his effort so much. One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at.

Nice Hotel, but needs updating.

All was good. The breakfast was all most same every day (7 days), but good. Very like cookies after 5 pm and happy bags at morning. Feel caring!

Because we plan stand in hotel 7 days, I ask once in few days change towels. But staff write ''change towels every day''. We get so many towels. We stop use towels in new bags. Because it was to much. It is not bad, but funny...

The complimentary breakfast including waffles (!) My son loved that!! coffee and tea available 24-7, the front desk was always accessible and ready to help, having extra necessities and toiletries on hand, the pool was very well maintained and clean, nice fluffy beach towels for guests to use,, free parking was great :)

There was not anything I didn't like. I wished that there had been a separate shower and bathroom right by the pool for guests to use/rinse off in -- some hotels have that. But it's not a deal breaker.

Excellent hotel. The room was very clean. There is a microwave and a small fridge. I also want to note the comfortable temperature in the room and the good water pressure in the shower. The bed deserves a special compliment - comfortable pillows, and a not-very-hard mattress. Tasty breakfast in the morning, and a tea/coffee stand is available all day. Free parking is available near the hotel. I'll stay here next time.

The location is very accessible to many things. The little hotel was more of what expected to be for the price, very comfortable.

The breakfast was good but on the second day the potatoes were undercooked. The hotel was busy and they were refilling the breakfast bar potatoes undercooked. On our third day we found little baby cockroach in the bathroom by the toilet paper.

This place was great! Very straightforward and simple, but comfortable and welcoming. I felt right at home thanks to the great staff and the wonderful rooms. You get everything you need at this place: free parking, 10-15 minute drive to DC, central to charming and cultured Alexandria, tons of food options around, fitness center, pool and business center, delicious breakfast, and all the amenities you need in room. I liked this place a lot more than I thought I would.

Great menu options for breakfast. There were plenty of options to choose from. I am a tea drinker and I appreciate the fact that there were many tea flavors to choose from…..since not everyone drinks coffee.

There was just one thing that I did not like. The washcloths are SO thin. The hand towels and bath towels are ok. The washcloths need to be replaced with better quality (thicker) ones. Other than that everything else was fine.
