Holiday Inn Express Ashland, an IHG Hotel

The location was wonder close near a gas station apple bees and mc Donald's the breakfast set up by Faith was amazing she always made sure the food was restocked and warm she stayed on top of the breakfast making sure everyone had enough to eat. There were towels in the pool area restocked the room had new towels every day room service was amazing the hallways were clean the tv had shows for both adults and kids to enjoy .

The pool was closed on day 2 of our stay but we went out that day. The bugs in VA are huge and very annoying even with bug spray

The hotel is in a great location, the bed's were very comphy. Easy process to check in and out. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The room worked great for an overnight stay, especially for the price.

The room we stayed in is kinda setup in a weird way. The sink is directly outside of the are with the toilet and shower, which is no issue, but I found it strange for the mini fridge to be under that sink and the coffee area to be setup in that same area. Also wish the mini fridge would have been a little larger.

It is close to the events we were attending. Super clean and staff was really friendly and accommodating and it has the best breakfast. The wonderful lady who was in charge of breakfast was just as nice as she could be and never let anything run out and everything was hot and fresh. She was great but so was the front desk staff both when we checked and when we checked out. We felt welcomed and we definitely will stay here again.

Pull out couches are not very comfortable for adults but regular beds are great.

I loved that this hotel is directly off I-95. The rooms were very nice and clean. Beds are awesome! The front desk agent when we checked in was wonderful! I believe her name is Tierra. She was very helpful with directions around the area.

Only bad thing was the chlorine in the pool was very strong and we didn’t have bedding for the pull out sofa

After staying at the 3 hotels right next to kings dominion due to work... this place is like a 8 star hotel. Clean, spacious, and close to everything.

I didn't try the pool but did want to get in the hot tub after work... got to it and come to find out it was freezing cold.. thought if I turn the jets on it might warm up (worth a shot) that was a waste of time. I will be here every weekend until October hope it gets fixed soon.

We stayed the night after being at Kings Dominion. Hotel is in a great location from park. Nice variety of restaurants around the hotel to choose from. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. My kids enjoyed the pool/whirlpool as well. In the morning breakfast was a good plus. Good variety and friendly woman working refilling/cleaning area. Thanks for a great experience.

The manager on duty-Tiara. She was the only one there and was very pleasant and sweet. She never once seemed stressed and was very helpful. It was a busy night and she handled every situation with a big smile on her face.

They didn’t have waffles. Lol

Breakfast was very good with a lot of choices.

The maintenance on the room and bathroom needed attention. There was a large hole in the wall, tiles missing in bathroom and closet door was off track with no tools or hardware to fix it.

Love the common areas - lots of room and a great breakfast.

Toilet in the bathroom didn’t work great - I was able to fix it without calling maintenance, but it still wasn’t the best. It’s just those high-pressure flush toilets can be a pain sometimes.

This was a good choice for me. The location, maintenance, cleanliness, staff, walk to “food”, and the peace and quiet would draw me back again if I find myself in the area. Just to clarify... I feel that one good thing that emerged from the Covid time period, is that customer service has increased somewhat, and dependence in amenities has become unimportant. I find that true in many aspects of our lives. I haven’t used a fitness center, business center, pool, computer center... in years. I’m a stop, shower, eat, sleep, eat, go type of traveler, so if all of that goes well, I’m a happy “camper”..!

Parking was sparse due to construction vehicles taking up 3 or 4 spaces at a time. But they are paying customers too, and I understand that.
