This is a great hotel with wonderful staff. The business centre was a real bonus as I had stuff to do and they helped me considerably. The menu was good and the portions very generous. The evening buffets were good value and the real crocodiles (small ones) in the pond a genuine surprise, but what was really lovely was sitting with a coffee over breakfast watching the birds making their nests.

Lusaka is very spread out. It felt like a series of roundabouts. There isn't a convenience store nearby so bring what you need with you or jump into a helpful cab (reception can organise for you, if you are not driving) and they will take you to the nearest mall.

I've stayed here many times, and it looks like the rooms have been upgraded a bit - very comfortable. The eating space around the pool with the baby crocs is as fun as ever, although the plants for the weaver birds were cut. Hope they grow back and that the birds return!

Honestly, the food was very uneven, and occasionally not edible. Not sure why this has happened but I hope Southern Sun will look into this. I remember the breakfast as being quite delicious and now it is so so. Some of the items from the menu were just plain bad. The kitchen needs some serious attention. Also, the service is very uneven, just depends on the personality of the server.

The location for my business was helpful and everything near by for my meetings.The room was adequate and for the needs. The staff in the restaurant in particular NChimunya and the 2 staff called Memory were very helpful cheerful and chatty clearly care about what they do and demonstrated good service and relationship skills.. Even the wider staff were helpful with a smile. The food was of a good standard and value for money. Having an ATM on site was very useful as well. The hotel from the airport was nit too far. The crocodiles tiny ones were a source of interest.

I needed to use the business facility and whilst the lady was very helpful when I tried to stay and do some work the general noise of others was loud and the room wasn't suitably planned for laptop privacy and due to the noise I couldnt make calls so I promptly left. Checking in was fine however I had to extend my stay and that became a challenge ans the lady who served me to recheck in didnt seem very helpful and was quite off in attitude which was disappointing..

We liked the room, the room facilities, the swimming pool, the gardens,the outside eating and breakfast area, the breakfast choice and quality was excellent, the green area close to the sitting and eating area was great with its weaver birds, the bar food was great. The staff in the kitchen led by Manina, the executive chef were brilliant. They engaged their customers and provided great customer service. Moses who headed up the breakfast egg cooking station is very skilled and makes the best eggs! The waiters all excel Wednesday were invited as guests to their Wednesday night ‘meet the hotel guests’ and it was a great opportunity to meet hotel key people and other guests

I especially liked the female staff... really wonderful ladies. It is one hotel where i have found such endearing female staff. I liked the fish (Tilapia), very tasty. the pond near dining area was so relaxing, little crocs, fish, reeds, chirping birds... awesome ! The taxi man recommended by the hotel, very respectful and kind man

The level of the air conditioning in the room. Limited choice of veges especially at breakfast.

The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of savoury and sweet options. On the other end, there is not a lot of food options on the restaurant's menu, but the food is good and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are even crocodiles, fishes and colourful birds in a water pond to keep you company when eating in the outside area. I loved the access to the gym, the pool, and the fact that the room was really comfortable and made fresh every day.

Very good breakfast buffet and enjoyed being able to eat outside on a covered patio no matter the weather. Loved watching the colony of masked weavers every morning while eating breakfast. Good a la carte dinner options as well. Lovely pool area. Comfortable rooms.

The only issue I had was with turning on and off the a/c in my room, but once I asked the staff the trick for getting it to work, I was all set. Also, the cost of the airport transport felt a bit steep, but it was reliable and good.

Excellent hotel in a central, safe part of Lusaka. Great area to walk around in, including to nearby restaurants and cafes (though on-site facilities are also really good. Staff were extremely professional and courteous - including the housekeeping staff. Rooms - especially on the ground floor - are spacious and comfortable. I'll be back.

Southern Sun was homely place in the city of Lusaka, great location, great for relaxing. Good breakfast and the staff were really tattentiv. When I mentioned that I was gluten free, they responded very quickly, also the check-in staff were very quick. The rooms were nice.

Some of the decor and things in the room are a little outdated. Our room was facing the road so a little noisy. The room service we requested was forgotten and we had to order again, when we did, it took almost an hour.
