The location was just down the street from the night bazaar market which had entertainment food shops every night. You could walk to old town or catch a tuk-tuk or a red truck and you can usually negotiate a price. Hotel was popular for any tour pick ups. Staff was great and the breakfast buffet was decent and had a different selection most every morning

Since I spent time at the pool it wasn’t heated so very cold only good to dip in when you were too hot. The bed was not comfortable but I found most beds in Thailand very hard. TV had English-speaking channels and a movie channel so that was OK.

+ Many amenities, nice big pool, quite well equipped gym + Good Price-Value + Lots of choice at breakfast, especially the omelette was nice + Big room after free upgrade + was much better than the bad rating had me fear + Did a great job hosting the conference I visited there + It seems like the stuff mentioned in negative reviews gets taken serious (to me staff was friendly, room and dishes/cutlery were clean and even cleaned in front of the customers eyes in the breakfast room)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the elegant and sophisticated atmosphere that pervaded throughout the property. The rooms themselves were exceptionally spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The decor was reminiscent of a luxurious hotel from the 90s, which gave the property a timeless charm and elegance that was impossible to ignore. One of the standout features of this hotel, however, was the incredible value for money that it offered. For the price, I was blown away by the quality of the facilities and services on offer, which far exceeded my expectations. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. From the attentive staff to the exceptional facilities and beautiful surroundings, my stay here was nothing short of superb. If you're looking for a luxurious and elegant hotel that won't break the bank, then look no further than this one.

Breakfast was a bit subpar, food quality was a bit below average

The hotel has large rooms and is very well situated and has everything you need and I have stayed before and would stay again but if i see a better offer I would take it as the hotel does not keep maintenance and beds are firm

Breakfast was ordinary as previously a better selection of foods and fruits. Thailand seems to have dropped standards here and before the breakfasts were so exciting. I would not bother ordering or taking breakfast as there are better options around on the street. The room was overall good. The beds are firm and I ha=d to ask for a topper to soften the bed but even the topper was too this=in. It seems to be a problem in Thailand that they give Hard Beds. Hotels are supposed to be for sleeping. Not to make you go to a doctor to get your back fixed. Overall the staff were good and facilities were good and value was good But they should have better maintenance too because many rooms had leaking bathrooms taps and maintenance seems to only be done when you complain.

The location of the hotel is incredibly fantastic. It is near of everything such as restaurants, market, 7-eleven, laundry, etc. Also, the room was good and very clean. I like the pool there as it is huge and nice for both adults and kids. The breakfast was also good with many options of dishes such as pastries, fruits, vegetables, egg corner, pancake corner, etc.

The furniture of the rooms in the hotel are old and renovation is a must.

The Duangtawan is a very good choice in central Chiang Mai. Nice staff at fronf desk and everywhere else. My requests made via booking.com were answered favorably in just a few minutes. The room was really nice and huge (see photos) ; the pool is such a nice place to relax ; the breakfast offers a very wide choice. There have been many negative comments on this hotel by members. True it might not be as pristine a **** as it was, but even though it has now a vintage style and some carpets would be better renewed, it still has the service of a **** hotel with a much lower price. According to me it's a good trade off. Right now the hotel is more visited by individual travelers, which probably makes it also quieter than it sometimes is. I really loved staying there !

Nothing of much importance

Hotel was excellently situated for the entertainment area on Loy Kroy Rd, Breakfast was the same option every day but there was enough to satisfy most guests and had an egg chef as well as usual buffet options. Bedroom was a large room and well appointed was serviced daily. Staff were friendly but I had to help in incoming guest with their suitcases as the concierge was not at their station when they arrived.

The hotel must have been very grand in its time occupying a prime position on a main road, but now is feeling a little tired in places, the bedroom furniture is showing signs of age and a lot of silicone to cure leaks in the bathroom. I didn't like the signs around saying that you will be charged extra for various things, losing a room key or locking it in the room, being caught removing food from breakfast, I'm sure they are in their rights to charge this but guests do not like being cinstantly reminded with their signs. Even the scales avaulabe to check weight of your luggage needed a coin to operate them. Seems they try to keep their room rate competative but the upkeep of such a large old building must be phenomenal so they need to charge for every extra that they can.

Thank you Duangtawan Hotel. I had a wonderful stay in an upgraded business room. The view was just fabulous and now rainy season, it was even more spectacular. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay and clean comfortable and breakfast was good and filling. I always recommend my friends to stay at this hotel when they visit Chiang Mai.

There was a problem with the coffee machine in the morning but the employee quickly fixed it. So I guess there was nothing I didn’t like. Plan to stay here again.

Good Variety for Breakfast, Asian Dishes and Western food as well as bakery treats, salads and cerials. Great location, have been staying here for 15years now. It has nostalgia to me and has the best location in town in my opinion. 7 Eleven right across the road as well as cheap laundry and car/bike rent from KPD. Night Bazzar just around the corner and lovely pool on 4th floor overlooking mountain. Large Gym and 2 Sauna's (Male Changing Rooms) Spa bath not currently in use post COVID 19. Varee Spa (Massage) was amazing and well priced. 60mins Thai Massage Great parking facilities and very friendly staff as always.

Male Changing Room Showers could use some attention, no hot water in the changing room showers but nice to cool down in between sauna sessions.
