Adara Richmond

The location was great as we were attending a concert at the MCG so to get back to the hotel afterward, it was so easy to catch a tram. Everyone else was heading towards the city so there was no waiting for us. The tram stops were close by and there were great cafes & pubs close by also. Loved that there was a little kitchen , good sized fridge, as well as a washer & dryer.

The fact that the price was a little high in my opinion. All the hotels were doing that though due to the Taylor Swift concert so demand was huge! Also didn't like the shower. It was a hand held shower head that wouldn't stay where you wanted when it was mounted. The head spun around and shot at or out the shower door when the water went through it.

This is a quality accommodation offering in an area which is decaying, in some places very badly. Nevertheless, I would return to this hotel, which suited my wife and I well. It is a large room, very quiet (114), and near all things you need. It is, if you like, "out of place" given its surroundings, but that should not deter anyone. It is well fitted out, and comfortable

It has a bath, always a risk for an 83 year old; the bedside light was a little dim. Both my wife and I had our suitcases in the lounge, as the bedroom is small compared to the dimensions of other parts of the room. Still, I would return here...

The room was clean and comfortable, and spacious

On arrival, there was no reception open. It was 5.40pm on a Sunday night. I had to ring a number and wait on hold for approx 10 mins. Then out of nowhere a staff member appeared and asked how they could help. So there were staff on site but not at reception. Later on, I was in reception and another customer arrived wanting to checkin. Same scenario, however this time the actual phone was in reception. This customer had to wait and also rang the mobile which went to voicemail. Yet the phone was in reception. Where were the staff.

The location is amazing. Very close to public transport facilities, a supermarket, restaurants, bars, and shops. We walked from the hotel into the city, which took approximately 20 mins. The room had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable. The blackout curtains were so good, and the shower pressure was great. I really appreciated the car parking facilities. The daily rate for parking in the basement or offsite parking facility is $30. On street parking available. Between the hours of 7am and 7pm the hourly parking rate is approx. $7.50 an hour.

Some small areas needed extra cleaning. For example, fingerprint marks on door handles and walls, what appeared to be either dirt or mould on the bathroom tiles.

The Adara is in a great location for what I needed it for, the room was spacious and comfortable and clean. It's great value for money for such a great hotel. Its not shiny and new but its well kept and comfortable.

The curtains are sheer and let through the morning sun. There's also tall buildings across the street that I felt maybe they could see straight through when my lights were on which made me feel a little uncomfortable. The Netflix wasnt working but I didn't ask reception about it, I imagine they would have gone above and beyond to help rectify it though.

Location was excellent - just a short walk to the Epworth Private Hospital. The rooms were large and well equipped. All the beds were very comfortable. We were delighted to find a baby cot, high chair and baby bath supplied as well as the roll-away bed we had requested. Having the rooms side by side and accessible through one door made it easy with small children to go from one room to the other without going into the hallway. Bathrooms were well equipped and clean. The rooms were quiet and the lift was easily accessible. The gym and the streaming services on the tv were a bonus. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful.

Our parking was offsite as the main parking was full, but it was only a short walk away, down a lane near the rear of the building. The microwave was a bit difficult to work out but we managed in the end.

Staff explained the need for a travel card (Myki), that needed to be bought at the 7/11. • 7/11 is very conveniently located. Minute walk from the apartment. • Our bed was really comfortable. • Express check out was convenient for our early departure

The height of the bathtub is pretty high. We felt like we were going to slip each time we needed to get out of the shower. There were no bars to hang onto besides the towel rail (this might break if someone does actually slip and needs to prevent their fall).

We really liked the security of the reception area after hours as we returned late from dinner. The location in Richmond was perfect for Uber ride to John Cain arena and for dinner afterwards on Bridge Road. Recommend Paperplate although you do need to book! Facilities and the studio room itself was very good - kitchenette was equipped with the basics - not needed for our visit but much nicer than a "room". Staff were lovely - accommodated my partners mobility needs on arrival with a change to a shower and not a bathtub which would have been difficult to access.

Car parking in Richmond is difficult. Little parking space available however, if you have disabled parking - you can do so across the street for free access. It is subject to availability so make sure you check when booking. Reception staff were great at letting us know this. Cleaners using high levels of bleach to clean - although necessary it is not a nice smell to wake up to as it wafts through the rooms from the hallways.

We travelled from the country and stayed at Adara Richmond because of its convenient location, across the road from Epworth Hospital where we had an early morning appointment next day. Great location and very convenient for us to just walk across the road next day. Spacious room with all the amenities we need! We very comfortably cooked breakfast in the full kitchen, and good to note for longer future stays that there is a washing machine AND dryer in the apartment. Fantastic value for money. Convenient onsite parking available at a reasonable daily rate for the area.

The hotel was opposite the hospital where I was visiting a family member and 50 metres from Bridge road for food (and shopping if this is your thing). It is a 10 - 15 minute walk from Richmond train station and a half hour walk from Ikea and Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre. The apartment contains a full kitchen with microwave, cook top, small fridge and enough items for 2 people. It also contained a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom though I didn't use these. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable and has a small dining area with a table and 2 chairs, and a 2 seater couch. It looked exactly as depicted in the photos on Booking.com. The reception desk is closed from about 8.30pm until about the same time in the morning but your key card allows after hours access. The staff were friendly and helpful, and responded to my email request a couple of days later for a Tax Invoice very quickly after having forgotten to ask for one when leaving the hotel.
