Coast Oliver Hotel0

The first morning the breakfast (9am) was a disappointment. Not much variety and waffle makers were out of order. Only sausages & egg patties available - no bacon. One bagel left & bread but no muffin option. No regular black tea choice. Not much fresh fruit. By the third morning we went elsewhere for breakfast. The last morning (fourth) the waffle makers were operational. Missed the opportunity to use the fitness centre as didn't realize one might access it BEFORE 9am. Too busy later in day to use.

The lack of breakfast choices if a person sleeps in a bit and not able to access gym earlier in morning before breakfast was a disappointment.

Staff were helpful. In the fitness room, the aircon worked and was adjustable, all the machines worked, as did the TV. Oliver is a sweet little town with an excellent swimming lake a short walk away from the hotel. We swam everyday before breakfast. The coffee at breakfast was the best we have had in Canada.

Poor lighting in the room made reading in bed tricky. The waffle machine at breakfast was broken for 3 days. The opening hours of the fitness room were reduced as immediately next door was a customer bedroom.

Clean, good location, comfortable beds. Friendly front desk staff. Breakfast basic but very good. Lovely breakfast ladies replenishing everything. Small pool but perfect for 5 & 8 yo. House keeping friendly, brought towels and coffee when we needed it. Would stay here again.

Our credit card was being replaced so it was a bit of a hassle to pay with debit but with the help of a manager the front desk got it done.

The breakfast was good except for the sausages. They were over cooked and dried up and had no taste. The location is great.

The only issue we had during our stay was the fire alarm went off at 2 am and it took a long time to get back to sleep. We felt very tired the next day because of that and had an 11 hour drive ahead of us. Not a good time for a false alarm.

The hotel and our room was very clean. Staff were friendly. The parking lot had plenty of spots which was great. The location was nice close to restaurants and grocery store.

Unfortunately the only drawback was breakfast. The variety of foods was not good. Cream cheese and peanut butter are the basic snd staple parts of breakfast options in all hotels.

The girl working at the desk the evening that we checked in was incredibly helpful to me.

That the breakfast was not on until 7am. There was coffee prior to 7am but nothing else was available. Sorry the may have been toast and cereal. But if you were a quest and required to be checking out prior to 7am it would certainly be kind to have some kind of , 'to go' items available. Fruit, yogurts, granola type bars, etc.

After a little (a lot x6) of confusion between BOOKING website and the Oliver Coast Hotel, I must say that BOOKING let us down, and Oliver Coast saved the day (night!). We booked over BOOKING and the emails kept coming 6 times , every half an hour to WHY services were restricted/cancelled without giving any reason. I eventually called the property, since BOOKING would not let me fully communicate and BOOKING kept sending me fake and spam emails, the live calls of Oliver Coast were answered promptly and I was reassured all services I booked! Happy! Will book again!! (Re: Call the Property, if you get spam/fake/restricted services notices from BOOKING...love the People, the Staff, the Stay, The Bed, The Pillows and the Breakfast!! xo

BOOKING kept sending us spam fake emails why we could not have the full service of the Property. BOOKING is fake! I love the Property!!

The complimentary breakfast was very well done. Lots of choices both cold and hot. One of the better offerings I have had for the many hotels I have stayed at over the years.

Only small issue was room was not cleaned by 4PM on one of the 4 days. Called down and was immediately dealt with.

The hot breakfast was very appreciated and filling. I really enjoyed the coffee. There was a small outdoor patio option for breakfast dining which was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the mountain/canal view from our room was lovely. The building appears to be fairly new and up to date, and clean. TV and air conditioning worked well. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bathroom fan runs constantly with no way to turn it off. We booked for 4 adults but there were only linens enough for 2 provided. When I asked for more they were kindly provided but considering these covid times, I was dismayed to see them briefly tucked directly against the chin of the staff person, no gloves on... I found the walls a bit thin to noises. Bathroom amenities are provided in reusable pump bottles rather than individual portioned packets, which is a great environmentally-friendly choice, but which concerned me from a covid perspective.

breakfast was good. about what i xpected

i. would have like more than just an office chair in the room. for two peole, it made for a certain amount of discomfort when we were both in the room.. oh and is there some reason why the beds ar so high? made getting out of them a bit awkward.
