The James Hotel

Great view of the South Saskatchewan River from our 10th floor King Suite. Spacious room and the separate living room, with access to the balcony was much appreciated and comforting, allowing one to just "chill". The Lavazzo in-room coffee machine made the best coffee we have ever had in a hotel room, combined with the breathtaking view of the river and the sunrise, helped to ease us into each day. Small number of suites per floor helping to create a quiet environment. Staff "jumped" to help whenever one arrived or left the lobby, and were prompt and efficient with check-in and check-out.

Overall this is a great place to stay. Staff where very friendly. The breakfast was great, hot egg bar was a treat. Rooms were clean and comfy. Location was also great for what we needed. Liked that there was such a late checkout.

When we checked in there was little communication about the complimentary breakfast, the timings. Additionally, no information about whether you could order room service from the Bistro downstairs. It was not until I asked that this information was given. However, this could have been because the hotel was quite busy.

From the front desk staff to the bellman to the breakfast staff! Everyone was so accommodating and the hotel is a lovely boutique hotel. It feels like you’re at home. Absolutely wish I would have found this place sooner. Btw breakfast is amazing and included with your room. The bed is dreamy too. Can’t wait to to go back to Saskatoon!

The menu could have been a bit more diverse and down pillows 😉. But I’m not complaining.

The staff were excellent and greeted us anytime we went by them, whether we were coming or going from the property. The housekeeping staff were extremely quick, having our room made up while we were at the hotel's breakfast, which often didn't take very long.

The beds were rather high and difficult for someone short like myself to get in and out. Also, the bedside tables were rather small, so if you're like me and likes to work on their laptop while in bed and put it on the bedside table when you go to bed, there really wasn't much room for that, much less adding a phone, watch and glasses. A few times, my glasses fell off the table and onto the floor because there wasn't any room. Also, the barn door style bathroom door was rather difficult to open from the inside, especially when you're half asleep at night.

Beds are very comfortable and good selection and quality of breakfast

When I called, we reserved (last room available)with the impression that we had a king size bed and an option to have a cot added to our room for our daughter. When we arrived they said they didn’t have cots available and we were only allowed 2 adults in the room. Thankfully my daughter went and stayed at my other daughters house but if that wasn’t an option we wouldn’t have been able to stay there.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Every detail was thoughtfully curated. The lobby bar was a gem with delightful service and a inventive drinks menu. Breakfast menu was new each day with quick and again very friendly staff.

Contender for the best bed I've ever slept in. Water pressure is so high that the shower was almost a massage. Best hotel breakfast I've had for years. Not far from downtown with lots of great restaurants within a few minutes' walk.

Sliding door for the en-suite bathroom offers no acoustic protection so be aware if you have a shy bladder. No fridge in the room, just a minibar. Breakfast finishes at 09:30 during the week (11:00 at the weekend).

The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The hotel amenities are great. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. Great location.

We went to the James hotel for our 10th anniversary. We were welcomed with a personalized card from the hotel staff. We felt so special. It was romantic and quiet and intimate.

The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable and quiet. The staff are EXCEPTIONAL. I enjoy craft cocktails and they have some excellent ones in the lounge which is a very nice room to relax in at the end of the day or before you go out in the evening. The breakfast that was included with our room was excellent. Will definitely stay again.
