Hotel Presidente

Breakfast was plentiful and delicious in a Lovely room from early to late morning. Gorgeous rooftop bar for sunset; breezy and comfortable after long day. Dinner inside from a creative chef. Best thing, hands down, is a really Exceptional, helpful, terrific staff. Room was very spacious and very comfortable. Location was literally two blocks from all the best museums, parks and cultural attractions. A really memorable stay for someone who has been in hotels around the world.

Absolutely amazing building, lobby and rooftop terrace ! The welcome was very friendly and the check-in very smooth and quick. The room was simple but nice and comfortable with a view on some monuments of the city.

We were nevertheless disappointed by the breakfast which was still described as « buffet breakfast » even though due to Covid it has been changed into a « menu to choose from » which would not have been problematic if we had had the opportunity to have more than one plate. The fruit plate was extremely small and we were told that it would probably not be possible to have some pancakes after the eggs. Yet the lady finally did not check and did not get back to us. For the hotel category and the price we pay, I think it should be normal to be able to ask for some more of something, especially fruits.

Lovely hotel especially from the upper deck or lobby. The flowers and chandelier and restaurant were very nice with yummy foods! The prices were not bad for a high-end location and view. The rooms were large with jacuzzi tubs, and the beds were comfy. Location was an easy walk to most of the museums and parks in the City of San Jose. Parking was convenient and the staff was nice.

I wish the jets in the jacuzzi tubs worked. We had 2 rooms and neither worked. More of a selection of drinks in the lobby store. Also, parking was a little tight when tour busses dropped off tourists and then you could get out.

excellent location to see the main museums in San Jose. the breakfast buffet was superb. unique decor and beautiful rooftop deck. the hotel refunded my extra rooms after a long time trying to communicate via booking.com regarding a change of plans. I appreciate the honesty of the business.

the excessive smell of cleaning product in the room. the frustration of trying to change a reservation that was made on booking. com! too hard to communicate with hotel. would have been better book directly.

We stayed for one night when we first arrived in Costa Rica. The room was lovely and clean and comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and served from 6am which is a real bonus if you have an early departure.

The area around the hotel is a bit shady at night, most places in the vicinity were closed after 7pm apart from a couple of supermarkets.

Amazing hotel, beautiful common areas! Loved the breakfast, it was delicious with lots of options and the staff was so friendly! We checked-in early and were upgraded to a larger room! Was very nice ☺️

The rooms were comfortable, but different style then the common areas - more traditional and signs of wear, but guessing maybe they will renovate. We would stay again, in a heart beat, though!

The staff are incredible. We couldn’t feel more welcome. We bring our dog every time and they treat her like she’s a movie star. The restaurant and patio are spectacular! This is a remarkable and memorable place to stay in San Jose.

Lovely modern facade and reception area. Room and bed were both large and comfortable and the room was very clean. I would definitely recommend the rooftop restaurant at the hotel - San Jose is not easy to navigate at night so we ended up eating there both nights and appreciated having a place with good food that we could rely on (it also has a great view)! The location was very central.

The decor of the rooms is a bit more dated and seems disjointed from the modern facade and reception area.

Massive room with a huge spa bath and shower. Good buffet breakfast and lovely roof top bar and restaurant. Central location is great to visit museums and walk to different barrios to explore.

Staff were a bit aloof as soon as you didn't want to spend lots of money in the bar or on their airport shuttle. Hotel airport shuttle is vastly over priced.

The hotel is cute, and i appreciate that they change the appearance. Last time I went was in 2018, but there was enough changed to make things interesting. The staff is always friendly and I love all the plant life.

The breakfast has been scaled down to a simple buffet setting, a significant downgrade from the last time I was there, but no reduction in the price. I understand Covid has affected things, but with less offerings should mean less of a price. I hate that companies use Covid as a reason to offer less and charge the same/more. I also understand that due to the location they have to be vigilant of the people coming in and out. But it does bother me that as a very American looking person I can walk in and out with no issue and everyone welcoming me. But when my girlfriend and a friend of mine come in who are locals they basically get interrogated upon entering the property.
