Les Quatre Dauphins

This is a cute little historic hotel! The front desk staff were always very nice and friendly, and kindly stored my bags for me on my final day after check out. The location is pretty good- not too far of a walk from Cours Mirabeau, and also right around the corner from the Quatre Dauphins fountain.

Most of what I didn’t like is not something that can be helped, given the historic nature of the building, and I knew that up front. For example, there is no elevator, but that is the case with many older hotels in France. The room is very small, but again, very common in France. Also there is no parking on site, so having to park a 10 minute walk away was a bit of a hassle.

I love this hotel and if I return to Aix, this is the only place I would consider staying. It is quiet and peaceful, and it's the best location possible for easy access to Cours Mirabeau, the outdoor markets, and all the sites. I absolutely loved it! Laurena at the front desk, who is the manager, is top-notch. She arranged taxi service for me twice and was so helpful and welcoming. I felt so well looked-after with her at the helm.

I thought the rooms would have a view. Other than that, there is not a thing I didn't like. It was wonderful.

The hotel is very nice, decorated in French boutique style. It is located very close to the center, and the area is very quiet. The staff is very kind, and there is someone at the reception non-stop. The breakfast was quite Ok, but I didn't have any kind of egg/omelette or vegetables.

The minus would be the very small room, really very small. :) We were warned about this aspect, and for one night it was OK. The biggest minus is the fact that the hotel does not have an elevator (we knew this), and our room was on the 3rd floor, making it very difficult to carry our luggage.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The location was ideal for walking into the main part of town and close to parking. The breakfast was good. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aix-en-Provence region. The bed was extremely comfortable.

There is no elevator, and narrow stairs to three floors. Carrying heavy bags up and down the stairs is difficult when you get as old as me. The room configuration was a little strange, a lot of space was "wasted" with the corridor in the room. The closet space was limited.

Excellent location- 2 mins from Centre Ville (shops/cafés/restaurants & 7 mins in other dir. from Gare SNCF & Routière. Room comfortable though small (no.21) and very quiet. Staff very friendly & welcoming and on duty 24/7.

Petit déjeuner s/serve and not good value (€15) when vast choice 2 mins away for much less. Concierge at Reception failed to ask for my cred card on arrival so on departure hotel thought we had not paid (we had!). Took 5/10 mins to resolve and we had train to catch! Not good…..

Lovely old building in excellent location central Aix. If you want everything shiny and new this is not for you but if you enjoy traditional provencal ambience this is perfet. You have everything you need in a hotel, good bed, proper bathroom, window that can be opened for fresh air (air con for summer), nice breakfast room. Breakfast nothing spectacular but very correct. Helpful and friendly staff.

Very good visit. Concierge was very helpful and informative (available 24h). They offered me a free upgrade to my room since it was available and wouldn't be filled that night. Made sure I knew when breakfast was and let me remove it from the bill since I was leaving before. Location is great too! Right near center of Aix.

Little, quaint hotel in the heart of Aix Saint Provence. The biggest room they have (1 double bed + 1 single bed) is a little room on the ground floor next to the front desk. We stayed there only for one night on our way to Italy.

Noisy room on the ground floor. The city cleaning truck parked next to our window at 6:00am with the engines on for around 20 minutes...

A perfect location within a very short walking distance of all the shopping and restaurants in Aix. The breakfast room was gorgeous as was the stairway leading up to our room. The rooms are small which is typical for France. The only tricky thing is parking. Would definitely stay again!

No parking, only rare metred parking or a 10 min walk to the underground carpark.

Charming small hotel in a great location between the station and the central areas of Aix. Room was small but comfortable and had exposed beams in the ceiling. It is good value and staff are lovely.

There is no lift so you need to be ok with stairs. A kettle and tea and coffee in the room would be good to add.
