Renaissance Aix-en-Provence Hotel

Staff was very friendly and competent. Room was very clean, very comfortable, spacious and pleasantly decorated (contemporary style). Bathroom was also perfectly clean, modern and very spacious. No view but quiet room on the third floor (no noise from street). About 10 minutes walk to the city center, slightly downhill. Pleasant walk, stores and restaurants along the way.

I was very disturbed by the cost of a minibar Pepsi when I saw my final bill: 9 Euros for a Pepsi seems excessive. I would have not mentioned it if it weren't for the fact that it came as a total surprise: there was no price indication in the room about drinks in the minibar and I assumed a normal markup, but 9 Euros is extravagant even in the most sophisticated bars in the area, let alone in one's room, specially if there is no warning.

The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Pierre and Matthias helped us out when we forgot something important in our room. We’re very grateful. They have many facilities, swimming pool, restaurants, etc. We ordered room service and the food was excellent. We stayed in the family double room, and the room is actually bigger than I expected. Plenty of space to put our luggages. The location is a short walk from the Rondelle in Cours Mirabeau, the heart of Aix where the lovely flea markets are. There’s a Monoprix and Carrefour supermarket and pharmacy within walking distance. We had a very pleasant stay.

We booked a family room which was a generous size with everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the kids were very excited about using the robes and slippers. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast options everyday. Our car was able to fit into the parking with our roof box on, this may seem like an insignificant thing but in other places, we have had to remove it, park the car and then walk the box back in and attach to the car. Then do it all again when it was time to leave.

The kids enjoyed the pool but it was a bit too deep for my daughter to stand in.

The staff at the pool were exceptional. Every one of them was the best example of customer service I have seen in a long time. They never faulted being polite or helpful even on days that were at extremely high temperatures while walking around in long pants and shirts. Always a smile and friendly hello. The concierge team, front desk and room cleaning staff were also on top of their game but the pool team did stand out for me. Kudos to Renaissance Hotel, for whatever you are doing with your staff it's working for your guests. Thank you.

We only stayed a night but the room was Comfortable and clean. The junior staff were very polite and the parking was very good value. The concierge was most helpful.

The fire alarm went off around 6am and there were no direction or instructions from the manager on duty. The fire department did not show up and it was up to the guest to try and figure out what was happening. No one spoke to us or anyone one else and we stood outside for almost an hour before trying to figure out if it was safe to Go back in. Eventually we and many other non French speaking guests found out front a junior staff member with some English that it was a false alarm. We were not advised of anything, told we’re to wait and no management in sight. Had there actually been a dire, it would have been catastrophic.

well situated within Aix. easy walk to all spots. did not check out the spa or pool, but they have both. 2 restaurants and a bar in the lobby. nice hotel. the Staff was Amazing!!! from the valet to the bellboy to the receptionist to the bar attendant to the housekeepers. all gave me amazing service. special mention to Pierre the concierge and the wonderful valet who welcomed me to the property. so sorry I forgot his name. he helped me with the blue Renaud Clio.

the room was not cold enough. mid October balmy weather outside. ac was not working properly I think. didn’t complain about it since I was only staying 2 nights.

We had a car accident and came to the hotel as a family with a big dog. We were quickly settled into the hotel. made a bed for the dog, prepared dishes for him. The hotel staff were very helpful and helped us with transfers for our family and huge dog. They gave us water for the journey. All the time you stay at the hotel the staff is top notch. Good SPA - pool and hammam, good breakfasts and comfortable bed

The hotel seems a bit worn. It needs separes to deserve the 5 stars and the price

the property is modern and beautiful. while it is a few minutes outside the centre of Aix, it is an easy and short walk to the Center of action, while providing a much needed oasis of tranquility. the outdoor pool area was relaxing with efficient service. The staff at the front desk and the concierge helped me numerous times with taxis and other needs. The bedroom and bathroom were everything one needs for either a relaxing solo or couple holiday. I also very much enjoyed the treatments at the spa - Elodie made both the body and face treatment a memorable experience.

I have no negative comments.

location great very stylish lots of lovely touches for kids in the room like activity booklets popcorn etc

2 coffee machines at breakfast are not enough or need greater focus to stop the constant need to be cleaned, often had to ask for crockery at breakfast buffet
