New Hotel Le Quai - Vieux Port

The room was huge and extremely comfortable and the hotel couldn’t have been closer to the harbour with fabulous views. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard.

1.- The lift was quite grubby and definitely needed a good clean. 2.- The breakfast dining area is in the foyer which is extremely odd with people constantly coming in and going out and doesn’t make for a relaxed dining experience. 3.-The breakfast is quite basic and quite expensive for what you get. 4.- The hotel reception staff could have been a little bit more friendly.

The location near the port and the city center, the nice decoration of the hotel, we had a spacious room, the staff was helpful, the coffee machine in the room.

From its profile on the website you get the impression that the hotel has a parking, but there are only public parkings nearby (30 euros/day), so you have to empty you car completely. We think this is a bit misleading... More importantly, you have to stop you car in a busy street at a distance of 100 meters from the hotel entrance and the hotel has no chariot and no staff available to help you drag your luggage to the hotel entrance. People who can afford this hotel are not always the ones who are able to overcome this unexpected barrier.

This is a fabulous hotel perfectly located in the centre of the old port area between the waterfront and Galeries Lafayette. We had a deluxe room with terrace and it was PERFECT with views to die for, a huge comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was delightful and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend and would always stay there again. Loved it !

I would have liked a comfortable chair or two in the bedroom and a magnifying mirror and more than 4 coat hangers (they gave us more)

I hit the jackpot when I booked this hotel. Location is outstanding- metro stop right beside the hotel, perfect for Vieux Port, perfect for tour pick ups, loads of restaurants. Hotel was spotless, comfortable and breakfast was vg. Pleasant staff.

Nothing really. A very minor thing- the church bells are a little loud in the mornings. Some breakfast tea in the room would have been nice. In general the good far outweighed the negative. Even getting from the airport is really easy, bus to St Charles, hotel two metro stops away

The view, the deluxe room

The staff lied about the room, you can call it a fraud. We paid for a deluxe room but they gave us a standard room, saying that the standard room is a very nice one. Instead of confirmed deluxe roome they send us to the smallest standard room. When we reclaimed about the room they lied us that the hotel is full booked and the room cannot be changed and they can't reduce the price to standard level either. They offered a free breakfast, even though we already paid for it. They also blamed us over their mistake about giving us a wrong kind of room. They said, we should have shown up exactly at the time of check-in, not a 15 minutes later. The staff were very unpolite. The hotel itself is very nice but the stuff is not profesional at all.

Excellent room and accommodations. Super location-view right over the Old Port, street markets. Staff gave us very good recommendations for dining.

Very difficult vehicle access due to blocked streets for construction. We did not get prior notice of this situation so we could work around this very difficult situation. Our driver dropped us off in bus lanes by the dock, we had to walk a couple of blocks to the hotel. The small lift from the lobby to the main elevator was not working, so we had to haul bags up stairs. Normally not an issue, but both my wife and I had some mobility issues and this was a bit of a struggle.

Comfortable bed, great bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Generous breakfast. Helpful staff.

Breakfast area in front lobby. Several steps up to get to elevator, difficult with luggage. Port area around hotel grungy with many street people lolling about.

So centric, very convenient for short trips. Everything is close by. Love the cozyness of the room. Mine was next to the church, sideview of the port. You can have your breakfast in the room or my little balcony in this case (Room 508) Super comfy bed! You barely hear a noise, although being centric. The church bell goes at 8:05 am but thats ok because i was there for short 2 day trip so up early.

Nothing not to like. Perfect stay!! A hotel worth the money.

Great location near the centre of Vieux Port / Old Port. Metro & bus stop less than 50mtrs from hotel & easy walking distance to over 50 cafes, restaurants & fast food outlets, Buffet breakfast was included & although limited to 'essentials', it was all we needed (fruit, cereal, cold cuts, pancakes, pastries, coffee machine, etc). Room was reasonably pleasant although a little small. Bathroom was new & modern.

The bed was too hard for my liking but we slept well anyway.

Very spacious rooms.Comfortable beds.We had two rooms, one had a separate sitting room. L'Occitane bathroom products, slippers and, in the bigger room, bathrobes. Bottled water, kettle and tea and coffee in the rooms. Very welcoming staff. Elevator (we were on the 5th floor). Great location, close to the Old Port. Would stay again if in Marseille.

Finding the hotel is tricky as it's in a pedestrianised square, so finding it when the satnav tells you it's on the right means park briefly, if possible, and walk into the square Parking outside to unload is, therefore, impossible. Parking available nearby at Le Bourse carpark.€30 24hrs secured at night. Due to the great central location it's a bit noisy as the traffic in Marseille is appalling.
