Hotel Asahi

We stayed here for the Düsseldorf Christmas market. Staff was really nice and helpful. We needed an extra blanket on the bed and it was ready on our bed when we got back. Wanted a cup of coffee and got service with a smile. Really nice experience. You can tell they work really hard. We could even leave the car there for an extra couple of hours after check out for free. Location is great for the Christmas market. 10 minute walk to the nearest one and 20 minutes to the last. Water pressure is great and one of the only bathrooms where I've stayed where there was zero mold to be found anywhere!

Water in the shower was cold the last evening and morning, but we were checking out after that morning, so we didn't say anything. Maybe they could have fixed it if we did. Minor inconvenience.

The hotel is very well located, a few minutes away from the train and bus station, lots of fantastic eating options nearby in the Little Tokyo district. The staff, from the receptionists to the housekeepers, are exceptional. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and really strives to cater for the needs of the guests. The lobby is very pleasant, with a nice aquarium. The room and the bathroom were spacious, with a nice contemporary design and nice touches such as slippers, tea/coffee-making facilities, vanity sets, etc. The comfort of the beds was exceptional. The room had an excellent heating, was warm, but the heating could also be modified manually.

The hotel is near many of the shops and restaurants of Little Tokyo, around 20 minutes on foot from the central shopping area/old town, and near public transport connections. The room was spacious and clean and overall it was fairly quiet. The hotel offers reasonably priced parking if you arrive by car and staff were generally friendly and helpful.

The facilities are a little dated. A few additional light fixtures would be nice as the room felt quite dark. The bed was also very soft but that’s personal preference.

The hotel location is great in downtown. Many restaurants around. The staff are friendly and helpful. very convenient. The room is big enough for 3 people. Pet friendly!

the bathroom is small. There is no AC so I need to open the window at night. It was loud from the street. There are many homeless people begging for money downtown at night. a little bg scared on my way back to hotel.

The small kitchen and pantry makes daily things very convenient

The kitchen are not supplied with some basic cutleries, dishes, glasses, etc. The laundry room fitted only with 1 washing machine and 1 dryer, or will have to go to other floors if laundry volume cannot fit in 1 machine

Walking distance to the central shopping area and very close to Little Tokyo with lots of restaurants. The day we were there was a sunny and hot day, luckily the room has an independent air conditioning and work very well. Hotel parking available in front of the hotel for €15 per 24 hrs. Breakfast was good with some Japanese food too

Room Size is quite good as we stayed in Junior Suite, the location is at the heart of City center so all necessities are nearby, Staffs are very amicable and assist Just-In-Time.

2 Things: 1. Understood that Breakfast at lounge is not available due to Corona situation but there must be some ways to provide the breakfast to the guests as it has been observed that the Gatherings are allowed in the Bar areas. 2. Provided Refrigerator in the room without Freezer which made us uncomfortable to keep the food in the common freezer in reception area. Should think of keeping at least a mini freezer inside the room.

- The size of the room was amazing. Very impressed. - The bathroom was amazing, good shampoo and soap. Good size. - Very impressed with the refrigerator normally you have a mini fridge but here full size with freezer! - There was a coffeemachine!! that was really good and it was on the house. Never seen that. - I am 2 meters and i could easily fit in the bed. Good mattrass. - There was a kitchen with cooker. That was great we could make Tea.\ - The location is great. 10 min walk from the city center. Nearby enough shops and restaurants. - Private parking in the city center. That is a big plus and not expensive.

- The door to the bedroom was very filthy and the door handle came off like it was nothing. - The refrigerator was empty. There was a card for the minibar but there was nothing there. - The tv doesn't have english channels. BBC etc didn't work. - It was to warm in the room. All the heaters were off but still very hot. We stayed with all the windows open. - The couch was more of a bed. You could't sit straight.

I had a penthouse room on the 12th floor. It was well laid out, and had quite a large balcony with a nice of the surrounding area. The staff were very good, and parking was easy and right in front of the hotel. Just a short walk to Immermannstraße as well as the trams. I came to Düsseldorf to gorge myself silly on Japanese food and do some shopping, and this hotel was perfect for that. Also napped very comfortably after eating large amounts of Japanese food.

The area immediately surrounding the hotel seemed to be a little sketchy- lots of drugs packaging and heroin needles in the street as you walk towards the train station. It didn't feel unsafe at all, just kind of gross. But only a short walk away, and it's a clean/nice area.

There is a small but mighty staff that runs this hotel. The front desk team helped us with extra blankets and pillows, ran the bar, and unlocked our reserved parking spot for us when we returned from day trips. They were all very supportive. Breakfast had a lot of traditional Japanese options in addition to traditional European foods, which was a nice culture experience.

We had a nice stay.
