Hotel Neckarlux

Everything, especially the balcony and the breakfast. Its like a second home. I love going there. Will be so much better, when I'm healthy again next year.

I loved it all. 3rd time I've stayed. It was a little treat as I have cancer and had to do something nice. Lovely family who own it. Fantastic balcony lovely breakfast. Rooms very big and bathrooms lovely. Very close for bus for Heidelberg. Love the river Neckar/watching the boats on it. They also do a lovely dinner/drinks. Best value for money in Heidelburg! Can't wait to go again, when I'm better! Top marks to Laine and husband! Very friendly people

Pros: super clean hotel. It is comfortable. Our room was small but appointed well enough. It had a desk, closet, and luggage shelf. There were 2 chairs on the balcony which we enjoyed immensely. Great, friendly, bi-lingual (at least, German and English), good food, street parking.

Cons: The biggest is it has no air conditioning. I had no idea hotels have no air conditioning. It doesn’t have an elevator, but it’s not a tall building. If you have a river front room it can be noisy. We didn’t care. The Single room is what it says. The bed is big enough for two people but it is 18m2.

Loved the free upgrade to a river view room. Lovely little balcony with large opening glass door. Great location, bus stop outside to go into old town(7stops). Easy cycle. Family run restaurant with excellent food. Breakfast available at an extra cost. Parking also available at an extra cost as well.

The hotel sits between 2 roads, if you are a light sleeper the road noise could be a problem. A fan supplied as no Airconditioning! There was a kettle but no cups etc. To our surprise there was a small refrigerator

Everything,especially the balcony right next to the Neckar river,where you can see the beautiful traditional houses and forested mountainous terrain.This hotel is run by a beautiful family who go out of their way to give advice and tips about Heidelberg sightseeing or anything else. The bed is orthopedic, adapts to the body contours,therefore is both extremely comfortable and very good for the body. Bus to the centre is just outside.Major supermarket is 3 minutes walk away.

Magnificent view from our room over the river Neckar. Good food. The manager was very friendly and considerate. We were allowed to have coffee in the morning even though we hadn't paid for breakfast.

There is no lift and it was very difficult to haul our heavy bag up to the top floor. Dinner was expensive compared to what we are used to, and limited choice. My 7-year daughter wrote on a post-it: "This is not the best hotel I have ever stayed at but I liked the view". No tea or coffee in the room

Excellent location on the River Neckar with beautiful views across and pleasure boats travelling along. Car parking available if booked. Good outdoor terrace for breakfast in the sun!!. Large comfortable bedroom and ensuite. Shutters to keep room dark and reduce traffic noise to a very low level. Bus runs along the road of the hotel entrance into town. Helpful friendly staff and good recommendation to eat dinner at an excellent local Italian restaurant 10 mins walk along the road!! Comfortable beds.

Staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. The gentleman at the reception was very helpful to assist in regards to public transport and where to go to eat. Hotel provided ventilator which was good help in a hot summer night.Good communication with the hotel and parking space reserved in advance.Location was great and public transport is near to the hotel.

The slanted roof in the bathroom could make it harder for a taller person to take a bath.

Traditional outfit, plenty of space in the room, excellent views where we stayed, very friendly staff and a really good nights sleep! I l really appreciated the the external window shutters, which keep the room dark in the morning and any noise out

The breakfast is very good, but the price is a little steep. There is no bar, but the town is no far with an excellent Italian restaurant we were recommended. Book as it get really busy around 8 pm, most tables were reserved

The view from our room was amazing. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The view from the dining area was also amazing. We loved the location. It was beautiful. It was quiet, just outside the centre. The room, though dated, was very large and clean and comfy. Bathroom was perfect. In all incredible value, well placed, fab views and friendly, nice staff.

The rooms are a bit dated. It didn't matter as the outside more than made up for it as did the staff.

lovely view of the river, could watch boats and trains going by all day family owners friendly, location perfect, lovely taking the bus along the river in the morning and getting off at the old bridge to cross into the town

there's a busy road between the hotel and the river which is mostly invisible but certainly not inaudible (not noisy at night, just kills atmosphere a bit) one of the blinds was a bit broken and didn't lift completely hard to keep bugs out and enjoy the balcony in the evening
