Kosenda Hotel

The room, although a little smaller than I expected, was great with a cool night view to the Jakarta city. It is clean and very comfortable. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The design is unique, cosy and the room is well maintained. Supplies like water, coffee, tea, kettle, soap, shampoo and lotion are provided. The location is great, walking distance to Sarinah and Grand Indonesia, also close to the National Monument. Well located in the heart of Jakarta Pusat where you can explore culture, history and also modern life in the big city.

The gym facilities may need to be refurbished or the fitness equipment updated and the bathing kimonos that are provided in the room should be washed thoroughly.

I can’t recommend Kosenda highly enough. situated in a great spot, not too touristy, not too busy (for Jakarta) it was a great place to kick off our indonesia trip. The entire hotel is really well designed, the rooms are modern, clean, comfy. The restaurant, cafe, outside space and roof terrace are all great spaces to eat or chill. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. but above all, the food was really good, particularly the breakfasts. there are different menus for the roof terrace and the restaurant. both delicious. And fantastic value for money.

Finally, I'm back to this boutique hotel and actually stayed in the same room like 5 years ago. Breakfast is minimalist but delicious! I always love their cute room design. The staff are very helpful. The bed is quite small and hard, but I can sleep well for 2 nights. The location is perfect! After 5 years, the hotel and its amenities are a bit run down, but generally still convenient to stay in.

The front office is always empty, and I have to wait a bit to get service. The management needs to hire more staff. I would expect a 4-stars more than this in terms of staff readiness. Wi-fi in the mezzanine hallway is a bit spotty compared to the one in the room.

Deco for the rooms was nice. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was homely. It is a very well design boutique hotel which will and have attracted many foreigners to the hotel.

The hotel doesnt have a dropoff area for taxi. Given that most people will take taxi in Jakarta, not having a groundfloor place to wait for taxi was not ideal given that it rained when i was there.

the interior design of the lobby, the restaurant, the room, the roof deck, the entrance, the hotel in general and the ground floor public shower/restrooms. the shower experience in the room which overall was well appointed, a bit congested but nothing was missing, the quality of the toiletries provided was very good. the location. At the heart of Wahid Hasyim, the hustle & bustle of central Jakarta, 5-15 minutes walk from major attractions (Monas), and malls. the food at the restaurant of the ground floor, just delicious, and the coziness of the rooftop bar with the music allowing the guests to have a conversation. the responsiveness and attitude of the staff. that’s the main reason why we love Indonesia!

some of the rooms face the wall of the adjourning building and the hotel can do nothing about that. if you plan to stay more than two nights, consider booking the bigger rooms available. The basic rooms are tiny small and recommended only for a single person with not so much stuff. the gym is currently closed due to the fact that’s Lilliputian and can cater to 1-2 persons max at a time and current Covid restrictions require safety distance. when reopened, I highly recommend a basic refurbishment. there’s no swimming pool but they never said there is, just fyi. the gray bathroom floor tiles can get slippery when wet, beware of slipping! if you are sensitive with noise ask the hotel to give you a room away from Wahid Hasyim preferably at the back side of the hotel.

Great location within easy walking distance many of Jakarta's top tourist sites, excellent food in both the restaurant and rooftop bar. Communal areas very stylish, staff very welcoming and helpful.

I stayed two nights and the soundproofing of my room was variable - I guess the room is only as quiet as your neighbour, and only one night was disturbed so this is a very minor point. It would also have been good to have wifi in the rooftop bar.

The breakfast was really good, i like the decor at the hotel and of course the room. Small but minimalist designed and functional (i.e. equipped with the facilities). The shower pressure was also good.

No international charger spares for us to us. We noted there was only 1 and it was taken up by a guest. The rooftop seems a bit too dark, lots of mosquitoes and too busy with the plants/deco.

The hotel has a cozy environment and a nice style with many plants and wooden structures. The room is very small but is comfy. If you have many luggage it maybe can be a problem to keep the luggage open inside the room. The shower is amazing with a huge volume of water and hot water. The amenities is very good (shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion, body wash and other amenities). The hotel is close to the famous Sarinah (Indonesia clothing and souvenirs) within walking distance. It is close to two major malls in Indonesia (Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia). It takes 10-15 minutes walking.

The window of my room faced a wall, no view, what makes the room very dark during the day without natural light. The lamps are not bright enough and, even when turned on the bedroom still a bit dark.

Beautiful hotel with such a great location. Nice staff always helpful and smiling. Comfortable rooms with all the amenities. Nice restaurant. I love this place!!

Last time I went there it was sparkling, so probably just bad luck... this time the room could have been a little cleaner... make sure to clean the desk, wall in the shower and wall behind the sink!

The design of the hotel is super cute. Pretty quiet for downtown Jakarta. Nice lighting. The rooftop is so unique. Ambiance is 20 out of 10. Perfect location. Even walkable from the train station coming from the airport. Many malls nearby.

The WiFi in the room was barely working. Had to go downstairs with my laptop to get work done. Very few vegetarian options unfortunately.
