Kokomo Resort Gili Gede

Fantastic resort with the most wonderful staff. Can't overstate how friendly and lovely everyone was. Excellent restaurant with very comfortable villas. Recommend.

The island of Gili Gede has been neglected by residents. A lot of trash on the beach and the island spoil the atmosphere. While this is prevelant through much of Indonesia I would have expected the resort's and businesses on the island to take the initiative to keep it clean like some other areas have.

Beautiful hotel! The team were absolutely amazing. So attentive and helpful throughout our stay. I was unwell one day and they couldn’t do enough to make sure I was okay; offering me medicines, delivering toast to my room throughout the day - just so kind. The best part, for us, was we got upgraded to a one bedroom villa on arrival which was just amazing. Hasan, was especially helpful throughout our stay.

The only point I have to make here is the price of the restaurant. Compared to the mainland either Lombok or Bali the restaurant is about 3x more expensive. Which you can understand as they have to bring everything over by boat. The quality of the food was good, but was very expensive. No happy hour, so cocktails were too expensive for us!

What an incredible escape! Gili Gede is an ideal destination for those seeking a serene and relaxing vacation. Kokomo is perfectly located on the island, boasting its own dock that's fantastic for snorkeling right off of. This place is a hidden treasure, especially for enthusiasts of snorkeling and diving. The staff was fantastic, and the hotel's uncrowded atmosphere made it feel like our own private retreat. They even surprised us with a romantic dinner setup, complimentary and without us even requesting it! I would wholeheartedly recommend it with a 10/10 rating.

Fabulous Aren´t we all strive to find the hidden lonely paradise island, hunting for the “unspoiled” far away from bars serving breakfast 24/7 and tourist crowds, searching for the old northern gili islands of yesteryear? But still dreaming of infinite comfort, sublime food and sparkling wine on a pristine tropical island surrounded by beautiful coral atols with yesterdays structures of marine life and impressive coral tables? We found it. A sublime intimate luxury resort overlooking the sparkling seas of the Indian Ocean, with the most brilliant and memorable staff providing a stunningly service from the moment we arrived by boat. All staff always went above and beyond. The food was outstanding and Villa was very spacious, clean and comfortable with great beds. We were there on our 25 years anniversary of marriage and staff made a gorgeous display on the bed with flowers and so kindly gave us an upgrade to best villa of the hotel with a view to the sea. 11 days we stayed - not a night too much. We will be back. The hotel offers a broad range of watersports activities. We enjoyed most drift snorkeling trips with local fisherboat to nearby uninhabited islands with untouched white lonely sandy pristine beaches, crystal clear waters teeming with uncountable colourful fish of all kind, turtles and stunningly vivid corals of all kinds. Like Gili Trawangan 30 years ago. Romantic picknick on lonely palm tree island with white sandy beach and turtles breathing at the water surface is just around the corner. Gili Gede is an island without roads. There are only paths, amazing shells to be found along the classic palm-fringed untouched sandy beaches beaches surrounding Gili Gede and a lovely and friendly locals waiting to tell their story and life. Remember to coordinate your stay with “Giligetaway” boats as they are the only public connection to Nusa Penida, Gili T and Bali.

The hotel staff did an absolutely fantastic job, everyone from the manager to the cleaning staff were very professional, welcoming, friendly and helpful. From our arrival to check-out, we felt very welcome in the resort. We celebrated our three-years anniversary there, and the staff put up the most wonderful surprise for us: we got a special romantic dinner on the long pier of the resort. Everyone working at the resort are making their best efforts to make your wishes come true. We got the villa with a private pool. The villa was very beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was amazing, and you can even choose your bedsheets. The resort offers many activities and services: gym, tennis court, kayak, SUP-board, and snorkeling gear are available free of charge. For an extra cost, you can book a snorkeling trip in the nearby Gilis, get a massage, do your laundry... the offering is very good for an island this small. The breakfast is a big and delicious, you can build it from a menu. You can also have it as a floating breakfast in your pool. Perfect place to stay in Gili Gede! Thanks to the whole Kokomo team!

This place is amazing. Set on one of the ‘secret gilis’, Gili Gede and the surrounding islands really are your own. From reaching the island, the staff make you feel like you are royalty and give you a warm welcome every time they see you. They cannot do enough for you and go way above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. They go the extra mile by offering a romantic dinner set up at the end of the jetty, serving floating breakfasts in your pool and just smiling and catering to you without you having to ask, every minute of every day. The food is lovely and worth every penny and the villas (which we were upgraded to upon arrival!) are absolutely stunning! We had to stay another night here, it would have been rude not to! You can take kayaks or paddle boards out to the other gilis, along with snorkels (all provided free of charge) and relax on beaches with literally nobody else about. The islands are yours. The snorkelling is also fantastic (especially on Gili Layar) where you will see many fish (including Moorish Idol fish recognisable from a famous children’s film), starfish, eels, corals and we even saw a turtle! It was so pleasant as the turtle wasn’t hounded by crowds, it was just myself and my girlfriend enjoying the turtle in its natural habitat. It is also possible to see seahorses and black tip reef sharks, amongst many other things. If you want rest and relaxation in a beautiful place, then come to ko ko mo on Gili Gede.

The hotel offers excellent service with incredibly friendly staff. We were offered a complimentary room upgrade. We also had the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a romantic full moon dinner on the jetty at sunset. The food in the restaurant is of high quality. There is a wide variety of dishes, especially for lunch and dinner (specialities)

Depending on the weather, plastic waste is washed up on the beach like nearly all over Indonesia. In the immediate vicinity of the resort, the staff ensure that the beach is kept clean. But it is clearly visible when snorkelling and wandering over the island.

Pool Villa was excellent, spacious, clean, well-resourced with a good size pool and sunrise view. Turn-down service was a nice touch and the final night dinner at the end of the pier was a good indication of how hard the Resort works to look after their guests. Excellent local staff and great food in the Restaurant.

Everything within the Resort is first-rate, however the island itself (which can take some effort to get to) does not offer a lot of attractions. Off-shore snorkelling and diving are good reasons to be here, but long beach walks and swimming in the busy waters are not realistic options. The Villas themselves are excellent value, but the Restaurant is expensive for the region and without many other options on the island you are more or less obliged to eat there (quality food though).

Location - sublime. Untouched paradise. A little bit more difficult to get to (1.5hr car ride + 5 min speed boat) but absolutely worth it to get to this slice of heaven! Crystal clear waters, so much sea life and coral. Villa - HUGE! So comfortable and had everything we needed. Bed was so comfortable, A/C was lovely, Bathroom was outdoors and nice. Can't fault a single thing about it! Restaurant/Staff - Menu is large for the location/style of place. Sitting out on the water each night for dinner was so special, and the staff made it even more special, they truly made you feel like royalty. Activities - A day snorkelling trip organised by the resort + a private beach picnic lunch was one of the best days of my life. Everything was just idyllic. We didn't try the massage, but wish we could have! I wish we could go back! What a perfect little haven!

The pool had a bit too much chlorine, and unfortunately turned my hair green - but nothing a little lemon juice couldnt fix!

Excellent quality rooms, all very clean. Bed sheets were to die for!! Excellent hospitality from the whole team too. Always on hand to suggest activities etc. They made everything easy - from airport transfers to kayaking and snorkelling. The food at the restaurant was exceptional quality too. All fresh ingredients, including some grown on site. Nice Al fresco dining on the beach front- we even spotted turtles! A varied menu and generous portions. Can’t wait to visit again!
