Hotel Genova Liberty

The location was perfect for getting around the city. Shopping, restaurants, train station were all within a 15 minute walk. We were in room 16 which was on the back side of the hotel, overlooking an alleyway. The room had less light coming into it which was perfect as we transitioned to this time zone. Breakfast was delightful. The space was full of light and air; food delicious. Staff were so very kind and helpful.

The first couple of days, we opted out of breakfast. Not smart on our part - trying to walk around without coffee looking for a place that served breakfast was not fun. The hotel breakfast was perfect.

The bathroom is partitioned inside the room and has a decent size though the shower is small and can be rather a tight fit for a larger person. This hotel occupies two floors in the old residential building so you need to be prepared for using tiny vintage elevator and smaller dining facility. No international channels are available on TV

The hotel is situated in a beautiful old building on the 3rd and 4th floor opposite the department store Coin (where you can park for a reduced tariff). The room was renovated, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a good shower and bidet. The bed is comfortable. The hotel has a small but very nice breakfast area. For 8 euro it offers a good breakfast. With savoury (cheese, cold cuts, egg) and sweet options (fresh pastries and cake). The staff was friendly and helpful. They ordered a taxi for me to get to the airport. I could store my luggage which was very convenient.

I loved the breakfast. Staff was gentle, familiar and helpful. The building has an amazing façade, vintage elevator and the owners care about the conservation of the historical roof in liberty style. I strongly recommend.

Location is perfect, close to the beach. Warm and clean room super comfortable bed. Very friendly stuff. Everything you need in the room including small fridge.

Difficult to find the entrance

Great hotel. Excellent location, perfect for seeing Genoa and getting around. Very friendly staff who helped out with places to go and provided a map. Very clean, brilliant room with excellent facilities. Breakfast was varied and there was something for everyone.

Everything was great with this hotel. There's nothing to complain about. It is on the 3rd and 4th floor which was fine for us. However, if you have to rely on the lift, then expect something old and unusual. We enjoyed going in the vintage lift but it may not be to everyone's liking, particularly if you are in a wheelchair.

Lovely old building. Ancient lifts. Great, chic area . Staff try hard.

Constant drilling and hammering noise from 8am to 5pm. Air conditioning ridiculously cold. Even when set to 24°. Plus no remote control. Couldn't leave it on low. As it was 36°c by day it was difficult to sleep having to keep turning it on and off. Plus the bathroom is tiny. Barely fit through the shower door. Can only use the loo with one elbow in the sink.

Very clean, lovely friendly + helpful staff. New + immaculate bathrooms. Fab location for accessing brignole train station + airport.

It would have been very helpful to have instructions that we needed to ring a buzzer at the front door to access the hotel if arriving in the evening, and also that it is on the upper floors. We arrived about 10pm and we spent some time searching for the hotel as it wasn't very clear, and eventually realised the front door was locked for the whole building + had to ring a specific buzzer for the hotel. Only a minor issue, but think this would help future travellers.

Location was great, very close to Piazza de Ferrari and the train station. Breakfasts were excellent. The heat pump in the room worked well, so A/C was very good.

The shower was tiny, but that is the only real complaint I had. There was no hot water on the first day, but I guess that got fixed because it wasn't a problem afterwards.

The Staff was extremely helpful. Valerio helped us find our way to Cinque Terra on our own. When our luggage got stuck in Amsterdam, Valerio and Bledi also helped us track it down and requested that it arrive before our cruise. They were also more that willing to call a Taxi when needed. Due to a labor strike, Valerio personally helped to escort us to another street so we could catch a taxi. The breakfast for 4 Euro was well worth it. These guys were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this centrally located hotel.

We have no complaints. I would stay at this hotel again in the future.
