La Casa Carlota

Location was perfect for walking to all the sites in the Centro of Oaxaca. It was a quiet neighborhood. The property was safe and secure. The staff took fantastic care of us and were so kind and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and filling enough that we needed only a small snack for lunch. The roof terrace provides a lovely place to hang out. We enjoyed interacting with the other guests as well.

They provided hot coffee daily, but it was very weak, so we went out to the coffee shop to get coffee in the mornings.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. The place was clean, with a great location that provided easy access to nearby attractions. The staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious and every day had new offerings. The bed was big and comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Overall, this bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations with its cleanliness, convenient location, amazing staff, and comfortable bed—a true gem for anyone seeking a delightful getaway.

We liked everything about Casa Carlota. First, all the staff were super-friendly. During our stay, there were three main staff who were managing things and they were always greeted us warmly. A couple of times we needed a little extra help, and they were always eager to help. Everything is very clean and pleasant. My son and I loved to hang out on the roof deck in the evening. Breakfasts good. Fantastic location and charming neighborhood. Really nothing to complain about. If we go back to Oaxaca, we'll stay there again.

What a wondeful hotel. Only 5 rooms so the staff take care of you very well. Location was great, all you could want within a 15 min walk but was a on a side road so was very quiet and you don't get the noise of the busy town. Property was very clean and there is a very nice rooftop terrace which you can have a drink and take in the views of the town. Breakfast was lovely as well with a hot mexican option every morning. We also booked a tour via the hotel which was veyr well run and reasonably priced.

I recently had a 3 night stay at la casa Carlota and let me just say that at the end of my stay I was absolutely satisfied with my stay here actually more than satisfied! I also want to mention that I have stayed at other nearby hotels in Oaxaca and la casa Carlota has been the experience that has been the most memorable. This place is not only beautifully designed, but so comfortable. (Looks just like their pictures) Their breakfast was my favorite part ! They served something different every morning and my family and I loved it 🙌 and don’t let me get started on their staff. They have the SWEETEST most welcoming staff ! They made my family and I feel extremely comfortable. They will make your stay there 100x better, with amazing recommendations, friendly interactions, accommodations. I genuinely felt so cared about and I have never felt so welcomed ! Also honorable mention to Dulce she is the sweetest soul ! She is truly amazing ! She helped us with any questions and just went above and beyond. You won’t be disappointed with your stay here if you decide to book ! I highly recommend. It is close to the center, beautifully decorated, the sweetest staff, and great breakfast. My stay in the City of Oaxaca was amazing and I am so happy that La Casa Carlota was apart of it. Loved it.

nothing I didn’t like!

Casa Carlota was an excellent refugee during our 5-day stay in Oaxaca. It's in a beautiful and central part of the historic old city but away from the loud bars and restaurants (which was perfect because I was traveling with my mom who is super sensitive to noise). With only 5 rooms, Casa Carlota feels like you're staying in a friend's house - a friend with a beautiful collection of art that is tastefully spread across the property. There are creative and artistic details everywhere - in the rooms, terrace, and shared spaces. Breakfast is also exceptional - every day they make you something delicious and local from scratch including memelas, enchiladas and squash blossom quesadillas. Also the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. We truly loved our stay and would definitely return!

I wish the buffet part of the breakfast had more local products like jams and honeys and bread, instead of products you can find in the US.

5 minutes walk from beautiful Plaza S.to Domingo. The house is run by amazing young staff very helpful in anything you need. They also prepare delicious meals for breakfast (every day different option). Lovely terrace upstairs where you can enjoy a beer and the evening breeze.

The place is small and you share the space with other people so you have to be lucky that they realize to be in a common area. Upstairs rooms have aircon if you are a fan.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is also ideal and within walking distance of all the key locations in central Oaxaca. The hotel is actually in a very quiet neighborhood and since our room was on the second floor, we had very little issues with the noise.

Not all the rooms came with air conditioning, but since the hotel wasn’t full, we were able to choose one with AC.

After our third visit, still there are not enough words to describe the colours, flavours, cultures nor excitement of been surprised by Oaxaca. Casa Carlota blends the vibrant contemporary Mexico with the many ancient and creative faces of Oaxaca it has easy access to main attractions, staff anticipating needs with warm smiles 24/7

We had to leave

Very nice house located in a charming and quiet neighbourhood in oaxaca. Nicely decorated, had a small present of mescal one day and the breakfast is good. We could leave luggage in the living room during day as left late in the evening.

Breakfast is served late if you want to leave early In the morning. We asked to have some yoghurt the evening we arrived so we could leave early and it was no problem but the staff didn't find yoghurt. So we had only some cornflakes and milk.
