The breakfast was exceptional. Continental style with a remarkably varied choice of bread/sweetbreads, boiled egg, yogurt, cheese, etc. The hotel has a very good cafe/restaurant on the ground floor where we enjoyed a late dinner and lunch the next day. Our family had two rooms which were both spacious, very comfortable, and looked recently renovated.
The historic character of the hotel and restaurant interiors have been stripped away and remodeled into a typical 'modern hotel style' which is a pity, but that's just our opinion. There was not enough light in the rooms, the ceiling and bed lights were too dim.

Hotel Grandcafe de Doelen is perfectly situated in this lovely town. The room (no elevator) was in the 1st floor and was exceedingly quiet and comfortable, especially the beds! Also, the on-site restaurant was very good. Finally, the staff was excellent - meeting all patrons with a smile!
Everything was great, though the bells from the church next door bothered my husband from time to time.

Fabulous central location, rooms sit above the restaurant which is beautifully decorated and provides a delicious continental breakfast. Staff were incredibly friendly, we ate dinner in the restaurant twice and couldn’t fault the food and service
Rooms were basic, no tea making facilities. Had to walk past the baby changing facilities and toilets of the restaurant to get to hotel room

The property is being renovated, everything is brand new, the beds/ sheets are very comfortable and make for a very good night of sleep. Very central location, friendly staff and overall good atmosphere. Breakfast is good too.
