Hotel Valkenburg by Mercure

Clean, modern, and comfortable rooms and a great location. Close to the centre, but away from the busy bits.

No parking at the hotel itself, only paid parking nearby. Walking distance is minimal, thankfully. Unfortunately they did not offer vegan options for breakfast and didn’t seem to be able to arrange something either, which was a shame.

The location could not be better, as it is close to the centre, the Cauberg and some of the other main attractions in Valkenburg. The breakfast was good. The hotel also offers some handy facilities for cyclists, e.g., (safe) room to stall your bike and a shower for after checkout.

The rooms are nice, but at some points too simple, e.g., it would be nice to have 1) a sink in the toilet, 2) a switch to turn off the lights near the bed (instead of only near the door) and 3) clothes hooks in the shower

Great location, good breakfast. A bar is present to drink something in the evening. You also can play pool, air hockey or some board games that are present there. Stylish, nice hotel! You can park your car nearby (2 min. walk). Enough parking space. If I remember correctly the costs for parking were minimum (around €1,- but I only parked in the evening till the morning).

The location of this hotel is excellent. It's about a 5 minute walk from the city center and all the caves and about a 15 minute walk to a welness center (Thermea 2000, must visit!), Holland Casino and also about 15 minutes away from the trainstation. For relativly cheap you can hire a bike / ebike / scooter across the street from the hotel which can be safely stored inside the hotel for the duration of your stay. The rooms are clean and the beds are good. Overall, the stay was excellent!

The breakfast is OK, the quality is good but the choice is limited. I would have like to see a bit more variety!

Exceptional comfortable bed. Very clean and super stylish. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location as quiet but close enough to walk into town.

I would have liked some more comfy chairs in the bar area. Sofas etc. More staff at breakfast perhaps. A full length mirror in the bedroom would be very helpful

The staff at check in was incredibly kind, unfortunately I forgot his name but he was a compatriot from Italy. The hotel is a big complex but spacious, at the end of a residential road - so the cute part of the village is quite a walk if you don't have a car - but I didn't need to go. The hotel is modern, airy, and so it's the room: big. Walk-in shower which I love.

It was spacious, dark and near the river, away from the town. so nice and quiet. the layout of the room was fantastic and the colours were great.

the water in the wash basin and shower didn’t drain quickly, so the drain needs to be cleaned. the shower sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. no Netflix on tv. bad parking

The room was clean and spacious. Nice location. Breakfast was good.

Reception doesn't work well at all. It took 10-15mins to check in, and longer to check out. I was not able to get a single reciept for all 3 rooms so had to wait for it to be emailed to me later. There is just one small reception point, so if you are being served while they are also using the phone it is difficult to hear. No onsite parking. It is public parking a short walk away. Make sure you take coins!

Bed was long and wide, very comfortable. Modern and spacious room and on the side we were with a nice view of the surroundings. Breakfast was generous with plenty of options and quality bread and granola for example.

I would have preferred firmer pillows. And the shower head could do with some decalcification.
