Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort

Sheraton Mactan was our last stop before flying back home after a month long holiday in the Philippines. We stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. Check in was a breeze, we were allowed to check-in and get into our room early. Greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a cute little shell bracelet. Our room was set-up for honeymooners and we also received a lovely cake with Happy Honeymoon written on it. Great facilities, beach, swimming pools and restaurants to choose from! Also not to forget the very relaxing massage treatment we had in Sheraton Spa! We enjoyed the amazing breakfast and dinner buffet that we had in 5 Cien Restaurant. A lot of food choices and the great atmosphere of the place. Buhi Cave Bar is also a must try! We had the Friday Grill Night and enjoyed it most especially the seafoods. Went inside the bar of course to experience the unique cave setting with some lovely night cap drinks. And most importantly, the great gastronomic experience in Dip Nikkei Restaurant. Thank you Chef Daniel who even spoke to us whilst we dined and to Loeh who served us for being so lovely and an absolute 5 star service! We’ve stayed in several luxury hotels during our honeymoon but what really sets Sheraton Mactan apart is the staff. All the staff in the hotel have been really a delight! Very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Even the hotel manager(s) are interacting with the guests ensuring the stay has been pleasant. To mention a few, we would like to say thank you to the following who made our stay/ dining experience enjoyable. -5 Cien: Ziny -Buhi: Josh -DIP Nikkei: Chef Daniel & Loeh -Sheraton Spa: Rose & Jessica Everyone has been amazing and all went above and beyond. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely love to go back again and would highly recommend!

Fantastic staff who were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were really nice, but the “ocean view” was limited as we could mostly see the building next to us and not the ocean. Rooms were super comfy too and spacious. Breakfast and restaurants had good food. The pool is nice and the cabanas and lounges set up on the beach are comfortable and relaxing.

Downside is the location is really remote and we had to call and wait for a taxi each time which made each trip out of the hotel really long (abt an hour or more each time). This is due to the distance and also the roads are only one lane and there is traffic. There are no shops outside the resort (such as 711) so this is inconvenient. If you are happy to stay in the resort and only do limited shopping and sight seeing then this hotel is ideal.

Kind personal. You feel like a royal everyone greeting you (to me, was bit too much, but that's personal preference). The rooms are spacious with bathtub, nice view, big shower etc. Perfectly comfortable.

Small and steep beach. Only for relaxing, not made for a walk. Missed some place for evening get together, like an area to dance and talk. But perfect when you only want to have romantic couples evening. Pricy food. They try to sell everything extra. Tried to get a single apple once. Was some hassle. As far as I get it, it's also not allowed to bring food from outside (like grab or groceries you buy). You need to find out everything on your own, e.g. there is fish food for free to lure fish and watch them.

The property is fabulous. Excellent breakfast. Loved the beach and pools. Room is perfect!

I was surprised to see mould in the bathroom and reception area especially since the hotel was only completed in December

Additionally, the provision of various family-friendly activities added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay, making it a memorable experience for all members of our group. I really liked the location in that the hotel was right on the water and the view was beautiful. The hotel was beautifully designed and the food was great especially the breakfast buffet. But what really made the hotel special was the excellent staff who was always helpful and gracious and friendly from the front desk, to the restaurant staff, spa staff and security. In fact staff went over and above to ensure that all our needs were met.

The traffic getting to the hotel was difficult because it was Sinulog weekend. It took us 2 hours from the center of Cebu to the hotel - an unexpectedly long time. But I did like the isolated site on Mactan and would definitely consider returning in spite of the traffic.

It was a modern, clean full service resort. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The breakfast was the best I’ve had anywhere in the Philippines. The pools are nice as well and I enjoyed the clean and well appointed workout room.

I would have rated all perfect ratings except for one big problem. There are green led strobe lights above the bed. Every five seconds a bright green flash fills the room, and even penetrates my eyelids. Sleeping was not at easy at this place and I will not be back. I had to turn the a/c on high and get the room cold enough to hide under the blankets. This is a huge problem and when I told staff they all said they heard this before. I know smoke detectors need an indicator light, but really? I know no management staff has never had to endure a night under one of these flashing bright lights, or otherwise the problem would be rectified. I would advise to avoid this property if you value restful sleep.

The most luxurious experience. The hospitality of Cebu Sheraton is notch above the rest resorts I have been to. The staff was very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The private beach and snorkelling in that beach was really awesome. The breakfast buffet had a lavish spread. Special mention to Mr. Danish Khan who is head of operations made sure we get vegetarian food at all times. He was truly so kind, warm and nice. There was a wine appreciation evening dinner organised by Langetwins. Again Mr Danish made sure we get lavish spread of vegetarian food. Buhi cave restaurant and 5 Cien offered amazing food. Scotty adventure organised a private snorelling trip to nearby Hilutungan island. The spa is also amazing. So over all I would say one of the best relaxing trip ever. Special thanks to all the staff members who were soo soo kind, warm and ever smiling.

“I recently stayed at the Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was amazing, with a stunning ocean view. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I especially appreciated the massage that I received, which was very relaxing and helped me to unwind after a long day of travel. The chef was also very accommodating, and she was able to create a special meal for me that was tailored to my dietary restrictions. I was also very impressed by the manger of operations, Mr. Khan, who sent me a cake to my room in celebration of Eid. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Cebu." they took me to a beautiful snorkeling spot off the coast of Cebu. The water was clear and there were so many colorful fish to see. I even got to feed the fish, which was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun activity in Cebu.”

The rooms and spacious and the bed was very comfy. We got two rooms with a King size bed and another qith twin size beds. The bathroom with a soaking tub is the best part of the stay. The staff were very courteous and very attentive. They also take great pics of you and your family.

The layered pool concept was good in theory. However, it resulted in smaller pools, and some were not yet functional so it can be a bit cramped especially when the resort was full of guests. The beach is nice during the high tide (noontime) but is a bit rocky. You have to wear aquasocks to avoid hurting yourself.
