Balay Tuko Garden Inn

I recently stayed at this place for one night as a transit from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, and it was a good experience. The compound is nestled in a serene environment with birds, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and kept in communication with me to arrange for pick up and drop off to El Nido. Breakfast was quite good, and the staff was attentive to my needs. The rooms are basic but clean, and that's all I needed for a quick overnight stay. However, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the place. Next time, if I visit Puerto Princessa, I would love to stay here for a longer period. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay with good value for money

However, for improvement that I noticed during my stay. There was a power failure, which resulted in the use of a generator to turn on lights. Unfortunately, the voltage from the generator was not enough to run the ceiling fan, making it quite hot and uncomfortable in the room at night.

Great place to stay lovely big clean airy rooms with rainforest showers,netflix and all the channels to watch in room,lovely green vista with beautiful birdsong every morning veey close to Robinson s mall and good food places plus the biggest plus for me a lovely indoor swimming pool. Really great value for money in the city with lovely staff and owner.

There is nothing here not to like nothing its a well run guesthouse,if i was to change one small thing it would be great if water dispensers served cold water,but i know you can get cold water from kitchen so im just being lazy. Stay here you wimt be disappointed

We had an extremely lovely stay at Balay Tuko for 4 nights and 5 days. Highlights: - centrally located close to a grocery and mall; Robinson’s about 3-5 minutes tricycle away - the inn is located on the outskirts of town. But if you’re visiting for any of the tours (PPUR, firefly) the tour will pick you up first since you’re along the way - serene atmosphere for a relaxing stay away from city noise and traffic - a beautiful garden to wake up to, especially in the morning - appreciated that the rooms were made of non-allergenic material and very clean. AC worked perfectly and there was a free large water dispenser per every 4/5 rooms. - the owner was French and seemed eager to share conversation with us about our travels. He built Balay Tuko from scratch in the 1990’s and since it has grown into a beautiful place to say the least! - laundry for a fee, kitchen serves breakfast/lunch/dinner, largest indoor swimming pool in town, setup of their tours are coordinated and not at all disappointing Recommend this stay for couples who like their space, & families since it is a safe and enclosed environment

I would like to suggest that when guests arrive, the facilities are first pointed out when they arrive, we didn’t know there was a pool, laundry, electric kettle or even a restaurant that was available unless we asked.

Balay Tuko is an amazing place. Silently located but still close to Bayan, Robinson's Mall and a little market. Rooms are spacious and spotless, with comfortable beds and a big bathroom. The pool is huge and got a roof, so you can swim at any weather. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. And last but not least: The members of the staff all are incredibly nice and helpful, doing everything for the guests to feel at home. A perfect experience!

The only thing we didn't like was the fact that we couldn't stay forever :)

this place has a big territory and location is quiet, staff is friendly and helpful, free water. Internet signal was poor in our room, it was fixed at the same time we informed about this, thanks for that.

no shampoo, no tea or coffee no kettle in the room, it's available in the common area though it's not issue of this place, I think it's common for whole island, but internet is not stable during the day - sometime it's very good and sometimes pretty slow

The rooms were large a very Comfy bed and nice shower. Owners helpful and very courteous. The swimming pool is large and mostly covered. The free breakfast was good. The airport pick up was hassle free I logged into airport WiFi and was corresponding with the driver via WhatsApp.

There is a bird aviary in the grounds close to rooms. And the little darlings are quite noisy in the early morning

Balay Tuko is a great place to stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful, they sorted out bikes for us and the van to Port Barton, and always made sure we had everything we could need. The property itself is beautiful, very clean and well-kept. The rooms are big, and the showers are great, and the grounds of the hotel are full of plants and wildlife. Highly recommend.

No negatives.

Staff very helpful and super friendly. The food prepared at the resort was delicious! I had dinner several times with owner to tell him how I enjoyed the hot water! The pool was like a jr olympic pool!

Coffee……use Maxwell, can’t go wrong!

The location is very quiet and green. Friendly and helpful staff. Hot water in the shower. Big room. This is the only hotel with a covered big pool in the area, but unfortunately, we didn't use it.

The room was a little bit outdated as concerns the furniture and the bed sheets although clean, looked old. The rooms need some improvement.

the owners and the staff are very accommodating. they went out of the way to pick us up from the airport and assist us on our trip. they made our short stay in Puerto Princesa hassle free. the room is also very clean.

the AC wasn’t as strong and we weren’t able to make use of the other facilities such as the pool but it’s more than fine since we know that Puerto Princesa has yey to recover from a very strong typhoon.
