Sofitel Grand Sopot

It has been my dream to stay at this hotel since I was a child in (back then) communist Poland. Finally after 30+ years it came true :) Love the atmosphere and character of this building, you can feel the breath of history while strolling along the corridors, movie buffs will probably be reminded of the The Grand Budapest Hotel. No musty smells though typical for older buildings, in fact it smells magnificent, they should come up with their own perfume. I loved everything about my stay, but the highlights were superb staff - attentive, polite and helpful, from receptionist to lifeguard at the pool. Loved the restaurant and bar area too - food and drinks were great, as were the wait staff. On Sunday we were lucky to attend a live music performance at the bar and it exceeded our expectations - the singer / pianist is so talented.

Pool area is very small and can get pretty crowded. Music performance at the bar was sadly interrupted by 2 drunk gentlemen - very enthusiastic about the performer's talent, but sadly in a way that irritated and disturbed other guests and the staff. I understand it can be complicated for hotel management to reel such problematic guests in, but something has to be done about it. Reading other reviews, I can see that this situation was not an exception.

We visit this hotel every year in the same date as we celebrate our anniversary, as hotel is informed about it during booking, they always prepare better offer or small souvenir in our room.. This time, assistant at the reservation department , while phone conversation, denied to surprise us any way.. It didn’t leave a nice impression,

Very spacious room, good atmosphere in a majestic historic hotel. Very clean and warm. Beautiful spa. The hotel and the rooms with character with some nice touch of understated modern design. Wooden parket floor in the rooms give a sense of luxe that is becoming extinct in many other places. Very unique place and I hope it will stay the same for many years like old wine which gets better with time. Wonderful service by Anna and beautiful surprise gift for the special guest.

we were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. the restauraunt was great (we ate the majority of our meals there during our stay) and the staff super helpfull. will surely choose again.

I like the atmosphere of a retro hotel with smiling and extremely helpfull staff, welcoming you right from the entrance. This time my room was at the attic and it was much more spacious than the regular classic one on other floors. The bathroom was well equipped with all necessary amenities, I took a chance to use a room service which was beyond my expectations with the time and quality. I love soft and clean beds, wide selection of TV channels and the overall atmosphere of the hotel making you feel like home. I also recommend SPA with new beauty partner delivering high standards services.

what written in menu is different when it come , be precise please

The breakfast was delicious with lots of tasty & healthy choices. The location is premium and a view on the sea and a pier is lovely. The hotel has its character with a live music played in the bar each weekend. We also enjoyed dinners in the restaurant- fancy and creative dishes. The staff was very competent and approachable. Overall a great experience:) I will definitely visit again.

The mattress could be harder but that is just a preference matter. The spa area could have a nice atmosphere with more area for relaxation and a calming tea after the treatment. I think the hotel is planning to renovate this part which means they’re already working on it. That’s great 😃

The classic feel & sense of calm within the hotel was breathtaking. the grounds were immaculately maintained, it was a classic hotel with an amazing sense of beauty. the staff were incredibly hospitable, we even were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite

Some aspects of the bedroom were a bit worn down, but that can be expected when staying in such an old hotel.

- fantastic property and stylish decor, nicely kept gardens - amazing location directly on the beach - friendly and competent staff - good spa massages - super confortable beds and pillows

- the spa has no hot water tub or jacuzzi, only cold pools. a hot pool would be good (e.g. the smaller front pool) to enjoy in cold weather - the hotel bar closes too early at 23:00. Normal people go to dinner 19:30-22:30. As a result the time to have a drink at the bar would be from 23:00 - 01:00. Closing at 23:00 is bad policy - breakfast food quality was ok but not great - the water taps are confusing and badly constructed (hot/cold, on/off) - the spa area was full of screaming children. it was like a nursery and very difficult to relax. Perhaps the hotel should introduce "children-free" times at the spa, so other guests can relax in silence
