Sol Cala d´Or Apartamentos

We had an apartment for the week with everything you needed equipment wise to cook your own meals (cleaned every other day) the Hotel was as nice and clean as the pictures on booking.com which was a lovely bonus staff all very friendly and helpful. A Spar shop next door, bars and restaurants within a minute walk & several beaches to choose from one a five minute walk away. The main town has lots of restaurants and shops 5 - 10 minutes walk, marina about 30 minutes walk which was lovely again more restaurants to choose from. First time visiting to Mallorca and we loved it we will be back and staying here again!

Only problem was air conditioning wouldn't run on cold, we could have a "warm" 17 degrees but not cool air (cold air option wouldn't work) we asked at reception an engineer was sent up very quickly but it would still only run warm. It turns out that at the beginning of May it's still like winter to the locals so it will only run warm... believe me 21 - 23 degrees for a Brit with no air conditioning is hot!

The hotel surprised us a lot, a nice smiling staff was already waiting for us at the reception. Common areas and the pool area were diligently taken care of and cleaned often. The hotel is very nice, it has a pleasant impression. We were very surprised that the photos corresponded to the reality and even the reality was more beautiful, which has never happened to us before. A corridor with arcades led to our room, we really liked the open space. The rooms were really spacious. The bathroom was perfectly clean and we could not find any flaws. This hotel truly exceeded our expectations. The entire hotel harmonizes pleasantly with the exterior. They varied the breakfast quite a bit, we knew how to eat well. We enjoyed the pleasant staff. We will definitely come back sometime.

We didn't find anything we didn't like. Maybe only the breakfast menu could be expanded.

Good breakfast choices and fresh cooked eggs.

Bathroom smelt on arrival the glass in the bathroom window didn't fit correctly. The toilet cistern often ran on after being flushed - sometimes all night. Air conditioning control was hidden behind the TV. Air conditioning didn't seem that effective.

Great accommodation considering the price. Really clean (housekeeping comes every second day), very comfortable, well located in proximity to the beautiful Cala Gran and lots of supermarkets and restaurants. Staff were lovely and check in was easy. Found lots of free parking nearby. There were only 2 of us so we used the extra bedding and pillows to make it extra comfy.

Only one thing we found really odd, they don't supply dish liquid or a sponge, but you need to do the dishes. Might be common practice for European serviced apartments, we were unsure, but we did alert the front desk how odd this was for us. They supplied body wash and hand soap, just not the kitchen clean up tools. No oil or salt and pepper obviously.

We loved it here, the location was perfect, pool was amazing and staff were so friendly, especially at breakfast

Our room was in the 500s and we had to get the tightest stairs to our room with our suitcases was really difficult. The shower turned off mid way once, also if you want to get a good seat at the pool be there before 10am but other than that enjoyed

location easy access beaches and restaurants, rooms cleaned regularly and to a very high standard with fresh bedding and towels every other day. Pool has adequate sunbeds but needs more parasols.

People leaving drinks by side of pool. Sometimes even bottles which could be dangerous, life guard should have instructed those responsible to remove them from immediate pool perimeter.

Very friendly staff, good location and clean everywhere.

People putting towels by the pool at 8,30 am despite signs saying not to do this! Frustrating if you only wanted to use the pool for an hour or so.

Location is excellent easy to access beach,bars, restaurants and shops we didn’t eat at the property we had room only facilities in the room were good if you wanted to cater for yourself. Most days you can get a sun bed overall excellent.

The location was really good.

There are not enough sunbeds for all the apartments, we had to go earlier and earlier everyday to try and secure one. There were 4 adults and two children in our group and we were lucky to get two beds everyday. The restaurant and pool bar close at 4pm everyday too.

I particularly liked the pool and the sunbathing facilities. The staff were courteous and the room was cleaned 4 times in 10 days. Excellent

Behind and quite close to the central section of the hotel was a karaoke/ star singer impersonator which was very loud and didn’t stop until midnight. What made it worse was that most of the singers were rubbish. If I stayed at this hotel again I would insist on an apartment in the area of the reception.
