Portomar Apartments

Staff were great! This is a super clean hotel, and the rooms were fairly soundproof. The location is good for swimming off the rocks and walking into the town

Breakfast: Do not be tricked into paying extra for the breakfast! Free breakfast is good, but the £10 extra is not worth it, it’s greasy or you can get some really dead fruit! Swimming: It’s such an incredible swimming spot, but the steps have worn away and not been replaced so you have to clamber over really spiky rocks to get to another hotel where it’s safe to swim. Would be amazing if they put a new ladder or steps in so you can get out safely. The bar: Is expensive and we wanted an evening drink by the pool, but the pool bar closed at 5 and they try to get you to their bar on the street which is noisy and dirty.

The hotel is very modern, clean and chic. The apartment itself was great and we loved the view. We asked for a missing utensils for the kitchen and the hotel was super nice to provide us with it. The breakfast was great too, the staff helpful and nice. The bay was beautiful and the the ocean great to swim in. (I didn't got in the pool so I can't say anything about it but it looked great).

Something that wasn't advertised anywhere and what we didn't expected is that there is music at the pool 12h a day. Starts with breakfast and ends with dinner (21:45). We weren't expecting this and unfortunately had the apartment directly above the bar/restaurant area. We asked them to turn it down and they were nice enough to do so. The music got better during our stay (started with party music and turned into lounge music) but the bass was very loud and we could hear it from our balcony and even sometimes inside the apartment with doors and windows closed. Just something guest should be aware of.

I really liked the space and the boho decor. The kitchenette was well equipped. The layout was fantastic and so spacious. The view from the balcony was breath-taking. I also liked the lights in the bathroom with the touch-screen mirror and the smart TV technology. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had issues with our TV but it was handled right away. They also provided me with a small free detail because it was my birthday weekend! Highly recommend staying here!

I did not like that there were almost no toiletries in the bathroom. We received a very tiny piece of soap, no shampoo or conditioner. I had to ask for more soap because it was so small/thin. The facilities were really nice but they did not work properly. The sauna was not really as hot as a sauna should be and the jacuzzi water was only warm (not hot). This might be due to the recent renovations so hopefully it will improve. Despite these details, I would come back and I recommend this hotel!

Great location, view and pool. The interiour of the hotell was great. Nice with live entertainment in the restaurant.

The wifi was not good, which affected my ability to work from the appartment. It also affected the TV solution. The air condition did not circulate to the bedroom which caused uneven temperatur in the apartment. The towels were new and not washed, so they generated alot of fuzzies.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Portomar Apartments and I must say, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From start to finish, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. The highlight of the accommodation was the beautiful sea view that could be enjoyed from the balcony of my room. Waking up every morning to the breathtaking view of the sea was a true delight. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax and feel at home during my stay. One of the main draws of Portomar Apartments was the pool and bar area. The pool was well-maintained, and the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun. The bar area was also great, offering a variety of refreshing drinks and snacks that were perfect for a quick break from lounging by the pool. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by Portomar Apartments. The staff, room, and facilities were all top-notch, making it an easy choice for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area, and I can't wait to go back!

Wonderful experience and total relaxation. This is an amazing hotel. Great facilities, helpful and friendly staff. Clean, modern style. Lounge area, dining area, big bedroom, lots of storage, comfortable bed and a huge balcony overlooking the sea. Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, fridge, cooking utensils and cutlery. Fabulous bathroom with a big walk-in shower. Lots of hot water. Great pool and pool-side bar. Lots of very comfortable beach beds, some are placed overlooking the sea. Lots of parasols for shade. Delicious breakfast, so much choice. Fresh and tasty. Spa-area with saunas and plunge pool, fully equipped gym, rooftop-bar, restaurant for evening meals and drinks with a live music night once a week. We went slightly out of high season (September) and had the most relaxing holiday, totally re-charged.

Spacious balcony with nice lateral sea view which was better than expected (We stayed on the 4th floor which made it better). Brilliant stuff, happy housekeepers. Great restaurant area with tasty food. Nice and clean pool area with a sea view. Comfortable loungers, also loungers outside the pool area with first line view of the rocky coastline and a sea with ladder access to the water. Included access to the spa area to use salt caves, saunas and jacuzzi. Not overcrowded, nice and peaceful.

You can hear the noise from bin men, deliveries etc. despite the fact that we had windows away from the street (service access to the wee courtyard which was surrounded by buildings emphasizing and echoing the noise) Lack of storage for clothes in the bedroom. (Just 12 hangers and a shelf above it) The mattress was OK, but could be comfier 😉

The hotel suited our needs as a family of 4 (two children of 8 and 5 yrs old) brilliantly. We loved the pool, which was very kid friendly with a good shallow end and a life guard. The food was great for a family - breakfast was a highlight! Staff were so friendly and helpful. The one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed for the children also worked perfectly. It was great to be able to prepare small meals in the room, if the kids were too tired to go out. The decor was really modern and so clean - the staff clearly worked hard to keep it that way. We loved having a sea view apartment - it was beautiful to wake up and see the sea - would recommend to select this option at booking.

The location was a bit far from the main part of Portocolom - only a 15 minute walk which would be fine for adults but was a little far for children in the heat.

The Interior is outstanding! We had a sea view apartment and we loved the balcony!! It is really worth to pay a bit more for that! Also the bed is very comfy! In general the Apartment is amazing and spotless clean. We enjoyed the pool area as well as the bar. Pool is super clean, the sea was wild for the first 2 days but after that it was really nice to have a privat entrance to swim. You can have a lunch in the bar at the pool or dinner / a glass of wine at the bar upstairs in the evening.

Staff was not warmly friendly, especially during breakfast. There is no „good morning“ and they seem to be stressed and annoyed from people asking where to find staff or which table is free. Also there is only one coffee machine... The rooms could be better equipped. We missed shampoo or body lotion as well as basic kitchen things like washing liquid, salt&pepper,oil,towel...

We stayed at the Junior Suite, one of the most expensive room types at the property- And it was excellent. the balcony has fantastic views, and the room itself is designed to feel very open and modern. The staff at the reception are very friendly, and helpful. The breakfast spread was really nice, too!

Our room was on the rooftop, and 3/4th of it was glass- Which looked fabulous, but there were no curtains, which sometimes gets awkward. There is a fully equipped kitchen, but for the price that we paid for the room, the hotel could have stocked some basic supplies like salt, sugar, coffee capsules.
