Far Home Bernabeu

Facilities were a great value for money. The staff was very attentive as I was traveling with my 9 year old son. The room, although small which I was expecting given it’s a hostel, was enough for what we needed. Anyway, we didn’t expect to be in the room most of the time so a good and clean place to sleep and change was all we needed.

Well, they have this LED lighting in the shower. Which I initially thought looked more as a sexy way to shower for your partner if you are a couple but didn’t look ok for a father and son stay. However, it proved to be a good night light after all cause the blackout curtains really block all light coming in thru the windows.

Liked the area, next to Metro station, shops, supermarkets, places to eat everywhere. It was very easy to find. The area is also very safe. The hostel itself is very clean and modern, it literally has everything you need. Wether you're sharing a room or you book private (which we did) the rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette, comes with a sink, microwave, fridge.We had a very comfortable stay, so quiet and extremely comfy beds. I would definitely recommend staying here, we had a pleasant stay.

Poor quality towels, would have appreciated a better quality, it was hard to actually absorb the water. Also there was a weird smell in the room,when we entered that seemed to come and go, but mostly appeared in the evening which made it harder to sleep some sort of sewage smell and sometimes you could smell it also across the premises, very strange. A mirror in the rooms would had been helpful.

Staff was helpful, facilities were clean and well-maintained. I got a 6-bed shared room that was clean and bed comfortable. A shared-restroom was located inside the room; this was clean and everything in working condition. The one complaint I have, I guess it’s my own fault, as being in a hostel, you gotta keep your stuff safe. Someone in my room, another guess I assume, stole my new North Face cap while I was sleeping. There are lockers but since I didn’t have a lock, didn’t use it. Recommendation, bring lock for your bag and locker and keep passport, money and other important items next to you in your bed while sleeping.

The closeness of metro station (Estrecho), Santiago Bernabeu stadium within 15-20 minutes walk, Aldi shop, little squares and restaurants nearby, decent breakfast, microwave and fridge in the room (studio room), amiable and helpful staff, generally a very good experience

Not much, room could be a bit bigger or at least there could be more room for storing things, shower was leaking a bit, but nothing extraordinary, could be a bit cheaper ;)

Stayed both in a private room and a mixed dorm. Initially I booked only a 2 night stay at a mixed dorm due to lack of availability. Upon check in, I asked if there's an available private room I can upgrade to, and there's 1 but only for 1 night. I agreed and just added a few Euros to my overall cost. I'm very pleased the staff accommodated this request. The mixed dorm room was like pods of beds but surprisingly comfortable and has enough privacy as needed. Great location, near to convenience shops and metro and other restaurants. Rooms are decent and comfortable. Staff are friendly and very helpful especially for those non-Spanish speakers. The dining area is impressive, with all that you would need if you need to make your own meal. Breakfast selection was class too, with hot meals and hot drinks on the ready. Toilets for common/shared rooms are enough for multiple guests. The luggage room was plentiful and secured with digital locks on the lockers. There's a rooftop spot too for some fresh air if needed. Staff accommodated a request for taxi to airport as well with no fuss. Overall very pleased with this booking, would stay again.

Maybe another coffee/hot drinks vending station in the dining bar area would help as people queue up all at the same time. But other than that, nothing more to add.

The hostel feels new and clean with a modern style. In a six-berth room with private bathroom, the bathroom was up a few stairs, away from the beds, with separate sinks, toilet and a shower that was hot and strong (push-button to save water). The lockers were a fair size, and the semi-private bunks felt snug and safe. The room was very warm but aircon helped that. The breakfast had some variety and was fresh, and value for money if you wanted to eat well. There was a big luggage storage with private lockers (with keypad combinations) at no extra charge. All the staff were friendly and informative.

Some of the bedside plugs didn't work, but there were plenty of others around. The coffee machine is okay, but it would be nice to have real coffee for the paid breakfast. But these.did not detract from the overall experience.

The most important thing - the bed! It was as soft as a cloud, I have troubles sleeping sometimes and I slept like a baby here. Secondly - location. The hostel is less than a block away from the nearest metro station which takes you to all the most important tourist attractions in Madrid. The hostel may seem a bit away from the city centre at first, but it is in fact super conveniently located thanks to the metro. Also, I feel that the area is a regular, residential area of Madrid, so you get to taste the everyday life of the city. There is a lift in the hostel. The common areas are pretty, the rooms are not huge (you can't keep your suitcases open at all times, as they'll take up all the space), but very comfortable. Breakfast is not included, but it looked really nice and was not expensive - in January 2023, it was 7 euros per person. We can't vouch for the flavour, because we chose to eat at a local churrería by the metro. All in all, an excellent place to stay in Madrid!

Upon arrival, the receptionist didn't explain to us how the hostel worked exactly - that there was breakfast available, that tap water was potable and you could refill your water bottles with it, how to use the common areas, etc. She was very helpful when asked for clarification later, though, so it was not a huge disadvantage.

The staff was helpful. The place is located in a nice neighbourhood. Great places to eat and drink for normal prices. It is not in the centre, but with the metro 1 you are directly in Sol. The beds were comfortable. And there is a nice communal area with tea and coffee. Also, I liked their locker system for luggage. Simple and convenient.

The temperature was kept pretty low. Also, there are not sufficient toilets for the amount of people. But they were very clean.

Nice kitchen, friendly staff. The room was nice and clean. There was a rooftop terrace available. Far from the city center, but close to metro. We stayed in a room with shared bathroom, but there were two showers, two toilets and two sinks, and there was no que, neither in the morning nor in the evening.

The only thing I didn't like was that the doors were quite noicy, so we could here other people using the facilities late at night. All over 8/10, one of the best for the price.

The hostel is very well located with metro near by and also a lot of shops, restaurants and supermarkets. It has a good common area that you can use to study or work. The breakfast is good. The room has different beds, it's comfortable. People are nice and friendly. Special thanks to the kindness of the workers Taís and Doris! :)
