Hotel Bären am Bundesplatz

Very impressed with the staff: Charming, easy going Anna always ready with a smile and good well informed advice. We were 3 adults in 3 rooms (two bothers and a very old father), and sombody had the good sense to arrange for all our keys to open the doors of all 3 rooms. Location was perfect, yet quiet. A very generous supply of coffee capsules.

Air condition was not effective in our first night. Probably because we came in early spring. On our request it was taken care of quickly.

The location is great, walking distance to the train station and old town, but our room was quite quiet. Good shower pressure, elevators moved quickly and there are two of them, small gym on the top floor. Rooms are small, but functional. Staff was very friendly and helpful. TV got a decent amount of English language channels, not that it mattered much but when we got back to the room after the day out and before going to keep we actually watched a a couple of decent tv shows we could understand (channel 4, ITV, BBC). All in all a very good hotel

I didn’t love the beds, the mattress was too firm for me. I know that some people love a firm mattress, but for me I didn’t get great sleep due to the firmness. So that would be my only issue, but as I said this is a personal preference that no hotel can satisfy everyone.

Location - the hotel has top location, very close to the main train station, very close to the parliament square, the Zyttglocke and some other squares full of restaurants, bars and shop, super central, close to everything and in a walking distance. Stuff was super nice and helpful, I really liked the free hot drinks and the ice cream. Room was small, but super clean and cozy. I liked the espresso in the room. I really liked that there was an additional orthopedic pillow in the wardrobe. The bathroom was very nice as well and very good equipped.

Everything was perfect, cannot complain about anything.

due to COVID, the AC in our room didn’t work. they were waiting for parts.

If not for the heatwave, I would rate the hotel higher. The location is great for exploring Bern old town. The rooms are clean, comfortable and of a reasonable size. The staff are all very helpful.

Because of the heatwave, we specifically chose a hotel with aircon. After we checked in, we found that the aircon in our rooms (connecting rooms) were not working. Seems the hotel knew about this issue for a long time as the aircon were down for over a year. The staff were very helpful and found us 2 different rooms with working aircon thus making the stay bearable. However, I would appreciate if the hotel would let us know earlier.

excellent location just in the centre of Bern

Location of the hotel is unbeatable. Literally everything is within couple of minutes walking. I also loved how quiet it is. The staff are just top class. If i ever plan to visit bern again, i am choosing this hotel no doubt.

family room is really well designed for a family with 2 kids. location is centre but very quiet. Security elevator made us feel safe even in downtown. All of us slept very well during our stay there.

the employee seemed not very familiarize with the public transportation card application on mobile phone. It took us a while to figure out how to add two guests into one phone. But it's a trival inconvenience.

The staff are exceptional! The location of the hotel is city centre and close to the train and bus station.

Larger TV given it is a distance from the bed. The room didn’t have a mini fridge so that would have been good. It was a handicap room so the bed is a little low to get into and shower had the seat and bars hook-up which we didn’t need.

The hotel and staff were great. The room was spacious and comfortable for three. We were within walking distance to our interests. Parking was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. All in all I would stay there again.
