Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern

Beautiful elegant hotel well situated. Grand old hotel with all modern conveniences. Beautiful lobby and service was great except problems with repeated demagnetized key cards. Modern and well appointed rooms with large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Bed was comfortable. Nice little touches with complementary nuts, muffin and chocolates. Breakfast was fantastic with everything available. Elegant bar and dining room for breakfast. Nice patio outside to overlook Lake Lucerne. Overall little to complain about and much to laud. A true 5 star hotel.

Demagnetized key cards.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and everything was fine. But at breakfast on my last day, as I sat at the table with my phone taking pictures of the mountains in the distance, there were no other customers in the area, a young waitress with glasses stared at me with black face. Was she sick? After breakfast, my child pointed to the cash register and asked me if I wanted to pay there, I said no, the same waiter took the cash register and "bang" moved a place, I think this is completely not in line with the standards of the hotel, poor review.

This was the best 5-star hotel we stayed in and not because of amenities but overall thought that the hotel team had put in the customer experience. Eric at front desk made us so very welcome, I think he is a trainee but did a fabulous job of checking us in. I would say one of the best exp we ever had. Multiple times (including post checkout), we were provided chocolates, muffins and water - all complimentary. They let us extend our checkout without any hassle, in fact kept our luggage post checkout when we had to pick up the car rental. It does not take money to give experiences to the customers, that is what I learnt from this team.

It is a 175 yrs old hotel and it is beautifully restored and maintained. I wi sh we had more time to stay here and enjoy Spa and other facilities. Nothing to dislike here.

Our suite was a corner room directly overlooking the lake and has a balcony. It was a well-decorated, spacious, and comfortable room. There were 3 of us so we needed the sofa bed. But even with the sofa bed, the room still has space for sitting. The view of Luzern lake at sunrise and sunset was beautiful and we could just watch from our balcony. There is a spa at the top floor, a bit limited in the sense that it only has a sauna room, rain showers, and also used for massages. Location is excellent and super convenient. Chapel bridge is a few minutes walk away, and the old town shops are all closeby. KKL and the train station are just across the bridge. The staff were wonderful and attentive. It was a fantastic and perfect stay for the last stop in our trip. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Even though the hotel is indeed lake front, there is a busy street in between the hotel and the lake. So when the balcony door is open or when sitting on the balcony, it was quite noisy.

The hotel facilities were antique and my suite room was very spacious and nice. The view of the lake from the room was so beautiful. I'd like to thank the woman at the reception again for her kind help during check-in and check-out. She always responded kindly to us when we left our luggage at the hotel and went back to pick it up.

When we went to the restaurant for breakfast, a waitress told us that we could only sit on one of the two tables in the middle of the hall. Even though we went early and all the seats were empty, she told me there were no seats on the window side or on the pillar side where we could see the lake. But everyone who came after us chose their seats freely.

Stayed 3 nights. Really nice hotel with modern, clean rooms in a convenient location , at walking distance from the train station as well as all the main landmarks / attractions lucern has to offer. Room with a lake view was beautiful. Really pleasant , polite staff who were always willing to help. Very sweet welcome message as well as those little delicious cakes and also the chocolates every night. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the bar was really nice in the evening with live music/ piano.

We had some minor issue with the housekeeping service once, came back from a long day out on day 2 to find that the room / beds was all done up quite " hastily". Mising bath mats, bedding looked a little messy like I had done up my own bed, coffee capsules not refilled in the mini bar, food crumbs left behind on the table , missing hair conditioner etc. Minor issues, yes , but one expects high standards on this front, in a five star hotel (that is not inexpensive). But having said that, once we highlighted the issue to the reception- positive action was taken immediately and we came back the next day to find a much better room. So hope they continue to maintain high standards on this regard and don't let these minor "slips" happen. Overall , an enjoyable stay!

We loved everything. The location was excellent. The hotel is close to everything. Although it is on the other side of the train station and pier, it’s actually just a 5 to 10-minute walk. The chapel bridge is between the wall from the station and hotel. Behind the hotel, about 10 to 15 minutes of walking, are the Lion Monument and the Glacier Garden. At check in, we knew it was going to be an excellent stay. The concierge, Noah (I hope I spelled his name right), immediately made us feel welcome. He gave us information, tips and suggestions that made life easier for us. The lady who delivered our room service was so very wonderful as well. The customer service is just top notch: professional and yet warm. Everything about our room was just wonderful. It was huge, the bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was clean and huge, and the view was just to die for. Check out was painless and quick, with the same efficient and yet warm customer service. I can’t say enough good things. If we have the chance, we would love to visit Luzern so we could stay in Hotel Schweizerhof again.

Oh where to begin, this hotel is exceptional, the service is outstanding, the staff cannot do enough for you. The piano bar is fabulous the staff attendance and knowledgeable is sublime, the resident pianist is so brilliant I’d highly recommend a visit. We stayed in 2014 and I have to say the hotel is better than it was then and it was outstanding then too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

sadly we felt the restaurant for dinner didn’t meet our expectations so could not recommend

very good location, very friendly staff at reception. close to centre of Luzern. Nice comfortable room.

on tuesday 19th of July we went to the bar/outside terrace. service was slow and cocktails were poor quality where we expected much better based on earlier reviews. but probably all depends on the staff at that moment. another thing is the overall decoration and used materials. we think that a much higher standard is possible with the beautiful building. for example the used materials/equipment in the bathroom are from a very average quality. the entrance of the hotel can be much better organized/ decorated, at the moment the 1st impression is a bit “ vergane glorie”

Great location, near to old town, tourist attractions, and walking distance to restaurants and bars. Room (Junior suite) was spacious and comfortable with large windows overlooking the lake. Staff are efficient, informative and friendly. Complimentary soft drinks and water, daily chocolates & cake on arrival was a nice touch. For a room on the front of the hotel next to the road it was super quiet with the windows shut. No sound at all from other rooms / guests.

Lots of conferences going on meant the reception area was rather busy with people registering for a couple of days but not for long.
