The location was amazing overlooking the lake and looking towards the old wooden Kapellbrücke. The room was small but perfectly good and no less than I expected. It was calm, quiet and comfortable. The staff were amazing, coping fantastically with my lack of Swiss German and advising me on various things in Lucerne. Being allowed to sit quietly reading on the balcony and being brought a cup of coffee was a real treat. I cannot commend the staff too highly. If I return to Lucerne (and I hope I will) I would not consider staying elsewhere. Thank you for a great (but all too short) stay!

Perfect location, close to most of the main attractions and comes with a great view, it is in front of the river. There are a lot of restaurants near by and the old town is just around the corner. Also, the main station is just like 5-7 minutes away by walking. The bedroom size was more than enough and I gotta say that the bed was really comfy which is always a plus for me. They also received me with a little welcome gift in the room, which is another plus for me.
Prices, but hey, we are in Switzerland, nvm.

As expected Hotel Des Alpes is in the perfect location - very close to Lucerne station, right in the centre of where you want to be, and the balcony rooms are just amazing for sitting out and watching the foot traffic crossing the bridge. We had breakfast and dinner once in the restaurant, which were fabulous, and also enjoyed exploring the abundance of cafes and restaurants nearby for other meal options. We especially enjoyed getting out for an early morning walk and exploring the laneways, city squares and bridges before too many others were out and about! We travelled with my parents who enjoyed using the lift, while we preferred to take the stairs!!
The rooms aren't huge, but they are very adequate, apart from that we loved it all.

We booked the room with Chapel Bridge view which was amazing seeing this beautiful bridge in the morning and at night. The bed and pillows are comfy. The location is not far from Lucerne train station, just crossing the bridge. Every tourist attraction is in walking distance from the hotel. The luggage can be placed at the hotel prior to check-in time (15:00). They gave Chocolate as a welcome snack :)
The room and the bathroom is very small. It's very hard to turn yourself in the shower area.

Wonderful hotel and views. We were happy to have quiet Dyson fan as it was hot weather! We had a balcony with only one chair (no table or other chair despite request to front desk, other balconies had these) so we used one chair and table from room and was perfect for (grocery, takeaway) meals! Large room, bathroom, great location . We also received dining vouchers 17.50chf pp per day which we used for breakfast. The additional payment for a la carte breakfast each day was 2-4 chf pp after voucher use.

Perfect location along the Reuss river with full view of the amazing Chapel Bridge, this alone made this hotel one of my favorite stay in Switzerland. I got room that face the bridge even though it had no balcony but the whole side with glasses window that you can see the whole view beautifully. My room was clean, comfortable, nice bathroom, good bed and the best view. I didn’t book room with breakfast but they have restaurant at site that always full of customers. From the hotel it was easily to walk around this beautiful city. I will book this hotel again if I plan to came back in the future.

Central location - perfect for discovering the city on foot. The staff were very helpful and even provided a parking pass for us to unload our bags before parking across the river. The hotel has a preferential rate for parking so be sure to ask. The hotel has a lovely restaurant and bar on the lakefront which we used a few times; very friendly staff.
he hotel does not have air conditioning; open your windows at night and keep the lights off and you will be fine. Request a room on the lower floors which are cooler.

My late-night Check-in was not a problem and the Night Manager was very friendly. *Despite of the size of the Single Room, it has every convenience - a desk, wardrobe, refrigerator, coffee machine, *AND the private Bathroom makes the Hotel ! *The view is beautiful, from the 5th floor, it was the view of beautiful rooftops and towers of Lucerne. **The Price is incredibly reasonable for a city like Lucerne, especially at such a prime location. Thank you! Well, the motor noise which started around 7:30am was a trifle disturbing but it stopped after a while. * All in all, a very pleasant experience. I will stay with you again on my next visit! and I would request Room 567 ! Good Number too!

The Staff was fantastic! They helped us navigate the city so as the maximize our experience. Since we were traveling during the week on the low season, we were offered an upgrade to river view. The balance of quality and price was ideal.
Most European hotel in which I have stayed offered a breakfast "buffet". Here, we had to either go out or eat at the restaurant attached to the hotel which had a limited menu without any vegan offerings. There were many other restaurant close by to chose from if one wanted to take a little walk.

The location of the hotel is outstanding. What a view! (We had a room facing the river.) We appreciated the elevator and the private bathroom.
We would have liked to have had at least one news station on the television that spoke English. If there was one, we couldn't find it. (A TV guide to the channels would have been helpful.) Also, the room was a little too warm for the type of blankets/comforters that were on the bed. It would be wonderful to have had a couple of options for coverings at night. We were too hot; then we would cast off the covering; then we were too cold, etc. Also, it would be nice to have a complimentary breakfast at this hotel. As it was, we had to leave the premises to find something to eat. At our hotel in Zurich, the night after we left Lucerne, we had a lovely breakfast, and the room was 75 Swiss Franks per night.
