Hotel Central Luzern

We enjoyed staying at the Lucerne Central Hotel. It was as the name indicates very central, very walkable and the transport in walking distance. The room we were allocated was very neat tidy and the bed mattress very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was a definite plus which gave us a kick start for our day. The break fast lounge was always neat tidy and we could relax there anytime of the day especially after getting back from our excursions. There was a coffee machine and tea and water on the house 24/7 and we could bring our take out food which we bought and warm it up in the microwave. The staff was very friendly especially the ladies which took care of us while we were there like Natalie and others. The lady at the concierge desk Priska welcomed us with a friendly attitude the day we arrived. She was very good at giving us directions and also telling us where to go and gave us complimentary tickets for the public transport. She was always enquiring about our stay. Priska is very knowledgeable of her City Lucerne. We give her a high five for her services. The other two friend persons we met and was also very nice to us was Juan Luca and Christiaan Thank you to all of you friendly front desk employees we really appreciated your care love and concern. We miss you already =) We will stay there when we come back to Lucerne <3

Nothing to complain about.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very clean. We would stay here again if the issues mentioned below, particularly the poor WiFi, were resolved.

WiFi incredibly unreliable, which was a real issue for us as our daughter had work she needed to do. The owner did try to sort this out for us, but it was a problem the whole three days we stayed there. Although fans were provided in the rooms, they weren't really effective against such hot weather, and it was too noisy in the street to leave the windows open so it was difficult to sleep at night. We appreciate the weather and street noise are both out of the control of the hotel!

We booked superior double room. We enjoyed staying here as the room was clean and spacious. A portable fan was included although it was loud when turned on, luckily it was not hot in Luzern during our stay. Staff were friendly to deal with. Breakfast was a small selection but everything looked fresh. Breakfast room was bright and clean - We appreciated that it was open to use during the day. The location was convenient. We did not have issues with noise during our stay.

Bathroom does not seem to have a fan or window for ventilation. Wish breakfast was available earlier as we skipped it on one day to start our personal itinerary as early as possible. :) My cellphone reception/signal was a bit poor in the hotel.

Location! One block from the train station, along a tree lined street with a balcony view. And one block to the river, and across the street from an air-conditioned museum featuring Picasso. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold items.

This was our first stop in Switzerland this trip, during elevated temperatures. The hotel is not air conditioned but the room did have a nice fan, and during g the evenings we left the windows open for a great breeze. Very happy to report no bugs came in! We were also unprepared for the number of smokers at the hotel. While they did sit out on the breakfast room.balcony, the smoke wafted back in to the breakfast room and was impossible to escape. We experienced this all over Switzerland, so it wasn't necessarily a fault of the hotel. The duvets were too warm to use for these Temps, so we took the cover off and just used it as a sheet. I missed having just a top sheet during this very warm weather trip.

When i arrived in the morning, the room was not ready yet. I had an event to attend during the day and would only come back late at night after the reception is not open anymore. That was solved in an uncomplicated way by already handing me the spare key in the morning, so that i could enter the hotel and the room when i would return. Worked very well. Also, as we just had a heatwave the room was very hot, but there was a great ventilator and with the window open the heat was gone fast and i slept very well. I also very much liked the breakfast room with the long table in the centre. The room was very clean and as i was at the backside of the hotel, it was also very quiet during the night. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Actually, i liked everything and all worked out for me as i had hoped

The hotel was near the train station and easy access to the old town and shops/venues. We were there during the annual music festival and we were only a short walk to the KKL. The break room/breakfast area was nice and had solid WiFi signal. We would sit on the balcony at times, have some coffee and work in the evenings. Our room was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful.

The WiFi signal was inconsistent in the room, but was better in the breakfast area/break room. We used a hotspot we rented while in Switzerland. So it wasn’t really an issue for us.

Very good location close to Chapel Bridge and Luzern train station. Room is clean and comfortable. Front staff were very informative and helpful with great service mind. Comfy Bed.

While front offices staff and housekeeping done their great hospitality but staff at breakfast room is totally different. She make me feel not welcome with her moody face and attitude. One of the breakfast room staff carrying a plate accidentally turn and hit into my back while i was waiting for my coffee at the machine. I understand that the space is limited and this could happen but I think a little say "Excuse Me" or "Sorry" with smile would be nice and not hurt anyone. But she make annoyed face and sign, not even say a word and walk back into the kitchen which I think its very rude to do to your guest.

Genuine hospitality found throughout. Front desk staff was very very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The breakfast room is open 24 hours and includes free coffee/tea as well as use of the microwave oven, plates/cutlery and tables including at dinner time. This is a significant value as it enabled us to eat takeout food for dinner. In addition, the breakfast room has a nice outside balcony with a few tables. It also has a drinks cooler with an honour pay system, which was very convenient and appears to be at cost only. This place stands out as providing genuine hospitality with these significant extras which were much appreciated and are very thoughtful.

this is not a 5-star hotel and, obviously, should not be compared in that way. having said that, it is really an excellent hotel. we will recommend it to our friends. the staff is nice, the breakfast is great = best we had for a long time - staying in many hotels around the world in the last 6 months. the location is excellent - easy to reach any important spot in luzern by just walking. we never used a car, not even a bus - just walking

this is NOT the fault of the hotel but i feel ashamed as a swiss citizen to see so many drug addicted people hanging around in luzern - in a city full of tourists from all around the world. what will they tell about luzern (and switzerland) once back home? the local as well as regional authorities must do something about this as soon as possible.

The property was in a great location - a 4 minute walk from the train station and a 3 minute walk to the chapel bridge making both transit and exploring the area very convenient. The reception person was extremely welcoming and always willing to help out and provide information. The breakfast was also very nice with fresh fruit, meats, cheese, hard and soft boiled eggs, and tons of croissants and breads. They also have coffee and tea available all day in the breakfast area which was great. The rooms were also comfortable and spacious (at least by Swiss standards). Overall it was convenient, friendly, and comfortable. Would highly recommend
