Hotel Bellinzona Sud Swiss Quality

We were touring through Europe and this hotel was perfect for our one night stop over. The staff were welcoming and explained everything. We could purchase an evening meal in the shop next door. Either 20% off or buy a 3 course meal for a set price. The food was very good. Our room had a lovely view, the bed was comfortable everything was clean. There is free tea and coffee in kitchen area plus water on tap. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore so, maybe another day. There were plenty of parking spaces and the motorbike was safe along with many others.

Nothing to dislike.

The room was a good size very modern and clean with a comfortable bed ,you could also have free tea and coffee which was located at reception which was a lovely touch. the hotel was handily located just off the motorway but was quite and had lovely mountain views another bonus of the hotel was it was next to a marche services which for me having visited other services throughout Europe is by far the best and you got a handy discount if you purchased a meal if you stayed at the hotel .

Due to bad traffic on way to hotel couldn't enjoy more time at the hotel and nearby services

We expected little more than a highway motel, but found thoughtfully run, almost charming hotel. Right on highway but all rooms facing the mountain side and totally tranquil. The fresh croissants, coffee and sparkling water dispenser were a nice touch before hitting the road again. The hotel yard connects to the bicycle path to central Belinzona and we cycled 15 minutes into town for dinner and walk around the castles. The hotel is a popular stop for cyclists and is well equipped to support them. It also rents bicycles. Very pet friendly with large meadow and stream behind hotel for dogs to run free safely. For us it was the perfect stopover on a long distance drive.

The family room is two standard rooms with a common door. The cleanliness is perfect. Despite the fact that it is a roadside hotel, the atmosphere is very pleasant, both inside and outside the hotel. Free coffee, tea, water, croissants/muffins at the front desk. Room with toys, board games and a pool table. A voucher for breakfast at a nearby cafe can be purchased at reception for 18 francs for an adult and 12 francs for a child. We didn't use it, we had enough croissants and coffee. There is a small supermarket by the cafe.

Spacious room with adequate bathroom. Very nice touches like the coffee/tea/water facilities and snacks provided. Perfect walks right on hand for us and the dog to the sound of cow-bells. Good restaurant 50 yards away with discounted prices for hotel guests which we used for the evening meal and was good value.We did not take breakfast so cannot comment

Very easy to find travelling north on the motorway but tricky leaving to go south unless you know your geography. Charge for the dog was a bit on the high side (but certainly not enough to cast a cloud on the whole visit said the dog).

Stayed before. It's expensive but meets my needs. Right on the motorway but quiet with loads of fields for off-lead dog walking at the back of the hotel, and a motorway restaurant next door. 20% discount at the restaurant. Dog friendly (20CHF/c€20 supplement). Room immaculately clean. Free flavoured water (still/sparking), coffee and teas and croissants in the morning.

The animal supplement is double what I have paid for similar hotels throughout Europe

I have stayed in this hotel many times, right back from when it was the Benjaminn, owned by Mowenpick. It is on the main autostrada from the Gotthardo tunnel down to Milano, so it is an ideal stop for going down to the Italian ports or the lakes. The staff are always competent and the rooms are everything a traveller should need. There is a nice touch with complementary hot drinks, cold drinks, cakes and croissants in the reception area. It is not luxury but it is functional in a very Swiss way. The sight of three floodlit castles on the hillside behind the hotel is always breathtaking. I would recommend ground floor rooms, which have outside seating.

Personally I preferred it in the days when the hotel served breakfast rather than guests going across to the service area. There is an issue with electrical plug sockets, as they are the Swiss three pin versions.

The hotel is extremely well located: Just on the Highway exit! it's easy to find parking space and to start again travelling the next day :) Additionally the green areas around it makes you forgot the highway proximity and all the rooms have a breathtaking view on the mountains!

Since is not the first time i'm coming here there's nothing much to say about this hotel, which is one of my favourites :) nonetheless, just being picky, the room temperature was a bit too hot for my tastes

the bed is really good, we slipped well (we prefer harder Mattress). Nice self-service mini breakfast & drinks (water/tea/coffee) and public space

self-serve on get drinking water, would be good if can put some water or electric kettle in room. They offer glass bottles in the breakfast area that can use many times & help reduce plastic waste, which is nice.

it’s a very nice 3 star hotel - connection to the highway is excellent, service is great and they offer free coffee, fruit infused water and in the mornings, also croissants (which are very nice and buttery).

nothing - mattress was too hard for my taste but that depends on personal preference so I wouldn’t put it as something negative.
