Deer Park Motor Inn Armidale

The deer to feed and the indoor pool area, large well throughout motel room, the door draught protector being an excellent example temperature over night went down to 0 degrees.

Would have great if the motel restaurant was open for dinner, but understandable with the pandemic unfortunately closed, but open for breakfast.

I loved the location to the uni, the big open room with comfy bed and feeding the deer!

I felt like a small amount of cutlery and a bowl or plate provided in the room would have made using the toaster/microwave easier. When bringing food back to the room I didn’t have anything to eat it with or on. The big heavy doors were often slammed by neighbouring guests early in the morning, making a “please close the door quietly” sign or letting guests know to close their doors quietly in the morning would be appreciated

It was easy to locate, unique, economical and beautifully clean. The deers are so sweet.

Nothing really. We did have our key card stop working one day but the manager fixed it up quickly and cheerfully. It might be good to have cutlery other than just tea spoons just if you want to have takeaway in your room but that's really nit picky because it really is a nice place to stay and normal circumstances would have a restaurant. It closed for dinner currently because of COVID.

The staff met me at my car and then walked me to my room, explained where the pool and breakfast would be served/located and advised when the deer feeding will be. They had the heater on for when we arrived so the room was lovely and warm (winter time), the room was lovely and clean, very tidy and the bed was so comfortable!The room was a little older but still wonderful. As a mum and young child travelling, I felt very safe staying here.

Very minor - the outdoor lights stay on all night which is great for safety but the curtains did not block this out so there was a fair bit of light coming into the room. Myself and my toddler just prefer pure darkness (helps him sleep better) but definitely not an issue.

The room was very spacious. The bathroom was very functional. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was very quiet. Breakfast location in the dining room was very convenient. Breakfast was very nice- it was just like my yummy, fresh breakfast at home, but with the bonus of not having to prep it all myself. Plate and cutlery was brought up to my room for my dinner use. Air conditioner was extremely quiet and functioned very well.

It would have been better if the used dinner plate and cutlery was replaced each morning. I was concerned about no electric blanket. (I have slow blood circulation) By pulling back the sheets in the evening however, the bed warmed up with the air con. This solved my problem..

Apart from the clean and comfortable facilities and the good breakfast, I fed the Deer in the Deer Park in the morning before I attended the Thanksgiving Service at Priddingtons for my school friend, Armidale resident Brenda Wilson. Feeding the Deer helped me feel grounded and prepare for the day. Thank you. Thank Jason for fixing a cab for me. I thank Herb Wilson for recommending the Deer Park Motor Inn.

Location was easy to get to from the highway. The room was very tidy, it looked recently renovated. The beds were very comfy. The pool was heated but on the cooler side. My daughter enjoyed it still. My family and I loved feeding the deer, what a highlight. Also breakfast in the morning was great considering it was included in the price. Excellent value for money.

The location was nice and quiet, set a bit out of town. Deer were cute and well cared for. Beds were rather new and linen was very fresh. Appliances were up to date. In comparison to other motels we stayed at from Gloucester to Tenterfield it was definitely the most updated and best value for money. Breakfast was quite basic but raisin toast is always a win and our young daughter loved the juice. Motel is currently being renovated and it seems that they are moving in the right direction. Hopefully the heater is fixed soon in the pool because it was actually a clean and nice looking indoor space. Would have loved to have a swim. A good place to bring children.

The property didn’t seem open when we first arrived and while there were no cars on the premises it said No Vacancy. This lead to a bit of confusion and conflict. Perhaps anticipating this possibility and placing a sign on the front of the building to direct people to the unmanned reception buzzer on the side could clear up this potential confusion. Other than this hiccup, our stay was easy and the owner was friendly.

Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Breakfast inclusion in our rate was a bonus. Continental but good. They have deer feeding but we couldn't stay as we needed to hit the road and continue our travels. The main dining area felt like a lodge.

Could not get TV to cast and in the end after trying with both phones gave up and went to bed. Internet was on the slower side.

Very comfortable. large room, very large bed and quiet stay. The room I had was exceptionally large and could fit all my gear. Very nice rest and stay overnight. The owner I spoke to organised a late night check in and everything went smoothly. I slept so well I missed the complimentary breakfast. I was able to park right outside and this is important for me as it makes moving my gear and luggage so much easier.
