Red Earth Motel

I liked the layout of the room. There was a separate lounge/kitchenette to the bedroom. There were plenty of facilities and you could even cook on the BBQ and they supplied the cooking equipment. There was a microwave to heat up meals and you could wash and dry your clothes, they even gave you clothes airers to use. The staff were very friendly and they had dollar coins for the washing and drying machines. They handed out what to do booklets as well as their recommendations on what to do in Broken Hill. Would definitely stay there again.

There was only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer so if there was a queue you had to wait. Also they locked the door quite early so you need to make sure you wash your clothes before sunset. There was nothing else to fault.

Red Earth is a short walking distance from the town centre on the main road of Broken Hill. Our room was equipped with kettle and toaster and fridge. There was a swimming pool but we didn't use it. The room had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. WIFI and parking are free. We ate outside at the Astra Hotel (restaurant) one night and there were several other eating places available. We visited the Mining Museum and saw the Silver Tree, the Pro Hart gallery (very good) and went to the top of the Lode (mining is still in operation). The mine overlooks and is close to the town. We also drove just outside town to view the Living Desert Sculpture area which requires a walk and an entry payment (only by credit card). We also went on an astronomy tour just outside town - luckily it wasn't a cloudy night , they had some powerful telescopes and it was Cold (we were advised to wear 6 layers).

The car parking for our unit was not immediately in front of our unit.

Location was great, staff were friendly, we had an easy check-in and check-out. Room was modern and clean, Bathroom was updated and had a good shower. Rooms were spacious. room had 2 tv's which was handy for us as we had our son with us. Kitchen area had a clean fridge & microwave Aswell as coffee making facilities. we didn't use the Pool and BBQ area, but they were clean and nice. Also had good parking.

The only thing we didn't like is the beds. For us little they were a little hard, but we are used to a plush mattress, so this is more of a personal preference and not a negative comment. Beds and linen were clean and in good condition. Pillows were soft but a little flat for us but again that's a personal preference.

I loved the lay out of the room, allowing abit more privacy for those in the bedroom to those in the living room without their being separate rooms. our room was clean and spacious. we throughly enjoyed having a walk in wardrobe, full Foxtel access on 2 tv’s, ample milk for multiple cups of tea or coffee, and large pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner and soap.

the car parks are quiet tight so it was difficult to get in and out of the car. However; the staff were great and offered us an alternative car park when our concerns were raised

Comfortable spacious and quiet room with excellent quality furnishings. A useful and reasonably equiped kitchen - proper fridge and microwave. Room included a desk. Excellent bathroom and shower. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Very reasonable price for such nice accommodation.

Rooms are a bit gloomy during the day - probably appreciated in the heat of summer. Room service was superficial, but new towels were provided when requested.

The location was fine and the room was great, quiet. Could temperature control in the room. Bed was wonderful and big and comfy. TV was great, a bit confusing to use and sometimes wifi on it wouldn't work. Shower was awesome. The spa looked wonderful but no time to use. The pool is clean and a wonderful place.

Bit of a weird stain on the coverlet on the bed which was still there when I was back a week later. Reception offered to help me photocopy documents for work which was urgent but weren't around and reception not contactable when I came to do that the next morning. Was a bit disappointed but I'll live.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Very clean and great facilities. Staff and housekeeping were amazing! Rooms were so quiet too which was surprising considering the motel was full+ traffic etc. I would definitely recommend and stay again!

The only thing was the fold out bed, it wasn't the most comfy, we popped the mattress on the floor which was much more comfortable than the fold out bed provided. But other than that it was a beautiful place to stay

To be fair, when we found out that we were in room 1, which is at the front of the motel and directly onto a main road, I was a bit apprehensive, however the room was quite, even with road trains going pass. We used the BBQ and it was very clean. The staff are the bonus here -- really friendly. It is close to walk into town.

nothing -- would stay again. There is no restaurant, so either walk into town or take your own food -- not a big issue.

We had a 3 bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms. The unit was clean, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had a good sized fridge so we were able to shop once and stock the fridge. All the beds were comfortable, 1 King & 2 Queen sized beds. Unit was cosy. Located within walking distance of town centre. Property had a nice pool which would be great in warmer weather. Very impressed with daily service to unit - plenty of clean towels and bathroom products. So nice after many motels not servicing units at all since Covid.

Faulty door handle on Unit 9 should be fixed/replaced as it was difficult to lock from inside.

The apartment is excellent and the kitchen well appointed. A spacious bathroom with a brilliant shower.You could live there comfortably for a long period. Although the night was cold, the apartment stayed warm without needing to be heated.

Although we arrived at 4pm, the 24 hour reception was not staffed. A buzzer on the desk did not work and ringing the phone had no effect. I rang the phone in reception for about 15 minutes, then gave up and we went for another drive. I kept ringing the phone for another 20 minutes until we lost coverage. More than an hour after my first attempt, the phone finally was answered. Needless to say, I wasn’t all that happy about it.
