Highway Inn Motel

After a long day in the car with a toddler and a newborn this place was fantastic. Management was friendly and helpful, room was large (like most country motor inns) and clean. Parking at the door made lugging all that goes with a young family a breeze. Bowlo with a bistro and small play area across the road and a nice refreshing pool; perfect for wearing out little ones before and after long hauls in the car. We found the noise from the trucks to be minimal as they are cornering slowly as opposed to rattling past as they do the other motels on the main street.

Nothing, this place is perfect and the price was right!

We booked the family room (2A + 3C) and it was very spacious, with a great size bathroom and a bath - perfect for our 2yo. Kitchen a great size. Lovely hosts too! We went for a swim and the pool was good, not super deep in the deep end (about 1.6m) which again is perfect for the children as we could stand while they swam. Had an extra aircon in the second bedroom which was handy.

Mattress was a bit hard for me but husband thought it was fine, kids all slept well too.

Well run motel. Site manger is very customer focused and works very hard to make sure everyone is happy. Went out of her way to let me park my motorcycle under a carport out of the rain. She was very helpful with letting me know what services were available and what options I had for diner. The bowling club is just across the road so no need to drive your vehicle to go out for diner and drinks. Can't praise the site manager enough, who obviously loves her Job. Well done and thank you for making may stay in Hay an enjoyable experience.

We always try to book this motel when travelling to and from Sydney. The staff are friendly, and check-in and check-out are easy. More importantly, the rooms are clean, and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The location of the motel is quiet and a short drive from the main street in town.

My only criticism is that the kettle in our room was dirty on the inside and was in desperate need of a descale.

Our room was very nice/cosy and very clean, just what we needed for an overnight stay on a halfway point of a long journey. Beds and pillows were nice and comfortable. The extra accessories in the bathroom, were a nice bonus, as was the nice deep spa bath. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Not the accommodations fault, however we did hear a few trucks through the night. Other than that, I couldn't fault the accommodation at all.

Property manager is lovely and she is always friendly as we stop here once a year. Close to lovely Chinese restaurant across the road. Rooms are clean and well maintained.

There isn't much not to like Hay is a small town in the middle of nowhere but has a nice feel about it. The hotel met our expectations in all respects.

The rooms were clean, best shower ever plenty of pressure and hot water, beds were comfy, plenty of space in the room, they provided microwave, cutlery and crockery, toaster so breakfast was easy, parking good and location is fairly quiet.

The only nit picky thing is they don't provide shower caps, they provided soap, shampoo and conditioner but no show cap and as someone with long hair I like to tie up and prevent it getting wet when showering unless washing it.

Everything was excellent. The management were very friendly. The room was so clean & tidy & spacious. Great night sleep. Good location to clubs & pub for meals. Attention to detail down to providing a window washer brush & bucket to remove bugs from your car windows. Important when you travel out this way.

There was nothing negative to mention.

A lovely clean and comfortable motel with generous sized rooms and and great, updated bathrooms. The manager went above and beyond for us, bringing a ramp and shower chair from home for our son who uses a wheelchair! The wheelchair access room was unavailable, which she called us about ahead of time and it really made the stay all the more enjoyable and welcoming!

Motel was located on outskirts of town on highway, easy to find. The room was spacious had kettle, toaster, microwave, plates and cutlery. Staff were lovely and gave information about where to eat etc.

Nothing really, being located on the highway there is a little road noise but didn’t worry us.
