The Saltbush Motor Inn

This is my third stay here, and the service, clenliness, and room comfort have again proven to be consistent and of a very high standard. I will continue to stay here whenever passing through Hay!

It would be helpful if there was a restaurant or cafe on, or close to, the premises. However, the room did contain infromation about the bistro at the local bowls club (about a 10 min walk away according to Google maps), and I believe they had delivery options available/listed which was helpful.

Having stayed here before, we were expecting the same standard which was very clean, comfortable and quiet. They didn't disappoint. They apologised for a group that was staying and warned us they may be a little bit noisy, which they weren't but nice of them to inform us. They offered us an alternative parking position if ours had been taken by the other group but it hadn't. Nothing was a problem for them, very happy to stay there again.

Comfortable and clean

I stayed in Unit 4 and found the taps very hard to turn the taps on and off. The ones in the shower I couldn't completely shut so they were dripping all night. Took a long long long time for any hot water to come through in the basin in the bathroom and in the kitchen. I've been brought up in SA and in areas in Australia where awareness of conserving water is upper most in our minds. Would be good of these could be addressed for my next visit.

Spacious room, clean and welcoming decor. Kitchen facilities ( no cooking) but great for making a sandwich or breakfast. Nice large, clean bathroom with great shower and spacious bench top for toiletries. Parking outside the door and a quiet Aircon for those that need more warmth:-). On arrival greeted with a great welcoming smile by staff who immediately made one feel at home.

Cannot fault the facilities.

Stayed here before, facilities are very good. Always clean and fresh, helpful and friendly staff. Located in the main street, short walk to shops and Riverina Hotel for an excellent meal.

Not the motel's fault at all but some people staying at the motel were very inconsiderate by banging doors and talking loudly outside the rooms well into the evening. I encounter this often and can be very annoying when you have been on the road for 8 or 9 hours.

Brilliant place to stay. We had trouble finding accommodation in Hay because of the filming of the latest Mad Max movie, but gosh were we glad to find a vacancy here. Just love staying at places where they thing of the little things that mean so much. In addition to being super clean and comfy and in the best location we had everything we needed, even cold water and glasses in the fridge upon arrival! We had tea, coffee, milk (also in the fridge), we had wine glasses and an opener, little plates, cups even a small sink with washing up detergent and tea towel. How can you wash things up otherwise?? Staff were helpful and friendly. Just loved it. We even received a thank you note from the owners Mark & Julie. We are thanking them very much for their wonderful hospitality.

Can't fault it at all. Even if there was something the good things are outshined anything else.

The room was very clean, bed solid and comfortable. The room was quite large with a super large bathroom. Plenty of room to move around. It was a warm room, shower was great.

If there were a outside furniture we could've sat in the setting sun but no table or chairs were near our room and someone else had parked their car outside. We had to park outside another room.

Everything about this property is a total surprise. Attached to an old hotel, which is now a residence, lies this very modern motel. The rooms are very big and spacious with room for a kitchenette, a reasonable size table with room for 4 seats(2 provided) and a very comfortable queen size bed. Although meals are not available, our hosts were very helpful in pointing us to all Hay has to offer.

As much as I'd like to pour rubbish on this accommodation, I cannot, it is truly a hidden gem.

The staff are excellent; they understand their client needs and they are very helpful. The rooms are well appointed, modern and clean. The linen is very good, and the towels are fluffy. The location is great.

Keep in mind that many travellers stop overnight in Hay, so there can be some early morning noise when people depart. If you know that it might happen, then it is less bothersome.

The room was superb - clean, spacious comfortable. Obviously recently renovated, well done and really nice. Probably one of the more expensive options in town, but you pay for what you get and you do get value for money with this. Even for one night passing through, I am glad I paid the extra (this is also day 10 of a road trip so I need it).
