Mettavary Hotel

The location is excellent for the people who are traveling for leisure....in the heart of all entertainment facilities are available...the famous bassac street.... amazing staff..... good cleaning.... well maintained hotel.... the management knows to give a good training to their staff.strong WiFi....buffet breakfast...two swimming pool and rooftop bar 🍺.aeon mall is 900 metres away... park and facilities are just walking distance .. over all good

Their room size is totally unacceptable....I don't know how they are calculated 24 M2.. it's less than 20 metres square and looks like. The booking.com mentioned free wine/ champagne because of the deluxe room I booked... none of them are served... when I asked the reception they said it's not available...so it should be corrected by the hotel management and booking.com

Really well located just behind Bassac Lane and with a 10 minutes walk to Royal Palace, the Mettavary Hotel is a really good option to stay in Phnom Penh. We were a group of 6 friends and we had 2 different kind of rooms: the King Suites for the couples and the Standard Rooms for the solo travelers. Both the rooms were really nice, of course the King Suite much larger than the Standard. The Hotel has 2 swimming pool: one on the rooftop and another one at the ground floor. Breakfast buffet with some western food as bread and jams, pancakes and fruits and also some Asian options as noodles or fried rice. In Bassac Lane you will find some nice restaurants and places to have a drink..., or more thank one. I really liked our stay and I will back from sure.

1. Hot water from shower can takes a while or ages to come out. This is because they use solar panel to heat the water (that's what they told me at the reception). So be patient especially if your room is at lower floors. 2. The coffee at breakfast buffet tastes really strange, a kind of vanilla flavour or something similar. Would be nice to have also a normal taste coffee 3. In the weekends Bassac Lane is full of people having drinks until late night. I read reviews about clients of the hotel having sleepless nights because of this, but honestly we had a good sleep and not too much noise.

Breakfast could have just one or two more options for westerners. It currently has fruit, bread, pancakes and an egg station.

Really nice hotel and facilities. Especially the two swimming pools, one being on the rooftop with a great view of the city. We even got a free room upgrade to a King Room, which was really nice and comfortable.

Nothing bad to say about the property. However during our stay some promotional activities were going on at the same time, meaning that teams of photographers, makeup artists etc. were setting up and using the common areas, making the stay less comfortable at times. At the same time, those teams were located at the same level as us, meaning that there were quite a lot of noise and traffic in the hallways, as they kept their room doors opened most of the day.

It is a perfect room for our family of 3, which can be hard to find in the city for a good value. The beds were very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to allow us to order dinner just before closing. They served breakfast until 10 am which was great because we were exhausted upon arrival here and slept in each day. We would arrive shortly before 10 and they were kind and even helped us make a to-go breakfast for a daughter who was still sleeping. It has a pretty little pool and sky bar on the roof with a beautiful view of the city. It is the best location because you can walk around the corner to Bassac Street, which has hanging lanterns and it is lined with restaurants and bars of all type.

I would stay here again. My only negative is that I wish the A/C was turned on in the room a little before the arrival time. I’m used to it being off in most hotels here but I’m the city I didn’t expect it and the room took a longer amount t of time than expected to cool down. Some people may find it noisy from the streets/ construction but it didn’t bother us at all.

Perfect location. Right next to street 308 (Basaacs street) which has fantastic bars and restaurants on it. Coming from Vietnam it was a pleasure to find that all the bars played good music with zero kareoke blaring out like you get in Vietnam. Pixel bar was our favourite. The rooftop pool on the hotel, although very small, was nice. We had it to ourselves both days which was lovely. The gym is reasonably equipped. The dumbbells go up to 17m5 kg and there is an adjustable bench. There's a cable station that served most of my needs. There is also a treadmill, though I didn't use it so can't comment on how good it is.. The room was clean, bed very comfy and air con worked very well. Breakfast was good. We had Pancakes which were some of the best we've had on our travels. The maple syrup was a nice touch. Service was fantastic, the staff are very welcoming. Hard to see how this hotel can be beaten!

It would be nice to have sun loungers on the rooftop pool.

This is a great mid sized hotel with a kind and personable staff providing satisfying breakfasts, excellent bar and restaurant services and good food and drink, with two swimming pools, one on the rooftop beside the rooftop bar, and another on the ground floor located next to the restaurant. A massage at the hotel spa should not be missed - the best I have ever experienced! We enjoyed our time at the Mettavary and recommend it wholeheartedly. It is an excellent choice for a place to stay in Phnom Penh. The hotel location is also pretty good, surrounded by many small bars and restaurants offering just about any kind of food imaginable (like a miniature 'Pub Street') and reliable taxis and tours can be arranged through the hotel.

Nothing, except it could be noisy since there is a lot of construction going on, but was not a problem when we visited.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were friendly. Great location. The pools were brilliant and the gym had enough stuff for a decent work out. There was no conditioner left in my room so I asked for more at reception and the sorted it immediately which was great (although it would be better if this was checked regularly).

Please could you either provide towels in the gym, or replace the gym mats with some new ones. They look very old and dirty. The plug sockets next to the bed do not work.

Slept with my girlfriend for the first time in this hotel. Good memories.

The staff were exceptionally lovely, and were there to help with everything I needed - from exchanging money, to suggesting tours and sightseeing places to go to visit etc. The breakfast was quite nice, and it is prepared for you on the spot. The downstairs swimming pool which is part of the restaurant is quite nice (medium sized), whilst the one on the rooftop is really small, but has a nice view of the entire city. If you eat in the restaurant which is part of the hotel downstairs, or have a massage in the hotel, you'll get a discount for these.

Seeing as the hotel is in an area with lots of pubs and restaurants around, it could get quite noisy in the evenings. Inside the room, the aircon is set to blow directly on the bed, which I did not particularly enjoy... Wish the room set-up was a bit different, so I wasn't getting the aircon directly on me.
