Palace Gate Hotel & Residence

Love the hotel very much so beautifully decorate and most importantly it was very clean and quiet. Room is very spacious and clean . Staff was friendly and helpful . Always put a smile and making sure that you are well take care .The pool was mesmerizing , beautiful indoor swimming pool for those who love massage , their khamer Massage was very good indeed , price reasonable too

The hotel was in beautiful condition and extremely clean. The staff were some of the friendliest and helpful i've ever met. They went above and beyond to help without being at all pushy. The onsite spa was excellent, the staff were so good and great value for money. The treatments were all excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of so many local attractions like the Royal Palace, riverfront and s21 genocide museum. The memorial park was also a beautiful place to go and sit in the evenings and watch the locals taking part in mass dance classes, exercise classes, football games and being around families enjoying the area having picnics etc. I would highly recommend the Russian Market in the day which was a brilliant place to go and haggle for everything and anything. A great place to pickup gifts. The night market is interesting especially for food but not much shopping type stalls available but it's well worth a visit. There are virtually always tuktuks available outside the hotel and they're a very reasonable way to travel around and see the sites

The only slight issue we had was with the shower not draining very well but they immediately came and fixed it. On one occasion we used the salon / spa at the sister hotel Palace Gate Hotel and Resort and our experience was bad in total contrast to our hotel. Our hotel manager went out of his way to resolve things which is a true reflection of his customer service.

Room was very comfortable and spacious with views and balconies in two directions. Staff was professional and courteous. Facilities have a nice colonial, historical feel and are in good condition. We ate frequently in the restaurant over several days and had consistently delicious food--especially when we stuck to the Cambodian dishes.

There were no real disappointments, but the massages at the in-house spa seemed a bit pricey for average quality. Overall, the hotel seemed a little expensive relative to others in the neighborhood, but we didn't feel overcharged.

We only stayed 1 night due to a cancelled flight during our trip and had to shorten our stay in Phnom Penh. Beautiful hotel with really good breakfast. We enjoyed the variety of choices. We stayed in the Presidential Suite and had a balcony overlooking the royal palace. Spacious clean room with two bedrooms.

The location of the hotel itself is ok during the day but at night time, it is quite dark and we opted to take a tuk tuk back from the riverside after dinner instead of walking back.

The location is perfect, restaurants close by and temple and palace 3-6 min on foot. The staff was very helpful and always attentive, the breakfast was one of the best we had on our 4 week-trip, everyday with new varieties. For dinner, there is an italian restaurant next door, which has amazing pizza! We had an appartment with kitchen and balcony, which was very clean and comfortable and made it easy to pass the rainy days. Would stay there again if I come back to Phnom Penh.

location, cleanness, staff kindness, i would recommend the palace gate hotel for the location just 9 mn from the independence monument the design is quite authentic Cambodian style , rooms are clean and ver big, staff very kind and helpful they do their best and the special thank you for Dara

food I think they need to make it better, I did not like the food but given the location you have à lot of restaurants in the area and very good ones, the staff there should care more about thé touristic attraction to suggest

The Palace gate is located in a historical looking building very close to the Royal Palace. Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was pricy for what was offered but the convenience and friendly staff and sufficient variety was good. Complimentary access to the more upscale Palace Gate Resort pool was nice but we actually preferred the vibe of the Palace Gate Residence.

Not the greatest shops and restaurants within a couple blocks but just walk a bit further out for more options. Tuk-tuks are always waiting to provide rides outside.

lots of cockroaches in bathroom and kitchen area seem to be living under hob I know it’s difficult in such a hot climate but even when cleaned reappeared overlooking square noisy until very late one night 1-2 pm

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Palace Gate and Residences. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed. We were fortunate to be upgraded, so we had 2 balconies instead of 1. The room was quite spacious. We had the included breakfast in the restaraunt, and we ate there for dinner as well. The food was fresh and very tasty. We also had a few swims in the indoor pool. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The room was very spacious and I was happy to see a kitchenette, so I could even prepare myself some small meals. The location is great, central but quiet. I could reach a lot of my destinations on foot. Also, the staff was very friendly.

When I ordered room service, it came in single use takeaway containers. I believe this was because the restaurant was actually at a different location, but I would have loved to see a nicer presentation with less waste. Also, the complimentary water was provided in small, single use plastic bottles. I would have loved to see a more sustainable solution (as most other hotels do).
