Riverbend Inn & Vineyard

The bar, dining room and terrace was setting was lovely. The martini and wine selections were excellent.

The dining selections and overall taste and quality was underwhelming. The inflexibility to order certain dishes (and yet still stay within the prix fix format) was incomprehensible and disappointing. Would highly recommend your facility but would recommend to look for other dining options.

Location, comfort, accessibility.

we arrived less than ten minutes after 10:30am and were refused to have breakfast in the dining room. we were late, wet because of the rain after cutting our golf round short suet to the rain, and yet they would not accommodate their guests. simply not the way to impress and wow your customers. spoiled our stay at the in. also we had reservations for dinner, booked well in advance and a few days before they unilaterally cancelled saying they decided to begin their fall schedule and would be closed for dinner on Tuesday, yet they had accepted our reservation weeks before. overall, not a great experience. not sure we will return. our room was not properly serviced. our bed was not made, although they did service the bathroom.

Food is top-notch. That’s why we had both dinners and breakfasts in the Oaklands restaurant during our two nights stay. Hats off to the chefs. All staff are very professional and attentive. Room is very comfortable and classically decorated. The view from the windows of the room is second to none.

There is nothing we did not like. We have stayed in other inns/hotels in the NOTL area. River bend is the best in our opinion.

The staff were fantastic and so friendly. On arrival, we were greeted with a glass of sparking rosé which was a pleasant surprise and nice touch. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was huge and we had a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable, good coffee machine, it was clean and had a fireplace. We went to Peller Estate for a wine tour which is a quick walk (you can see it from Riverbend Inn!) and it was fabulous. We came back and watched the sunset on the Riverbend Inn patio with a glass of wine overlooking the vineyards. It was spectacular. We then had a delicious dinner in the restaurant (special shout-out to our wonderful server who, I think, was called Taylor!?). Overall, it was one of the most memorable stays I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to return with family.

The front desk and housekeeping staff went out of their way to get us checked in a little early since we had dinner reservations. That was so helpful. We ate brunch at the restaurant and the staff was exceptional! Both of the men who helped us were delightful and funny. It was a beautiful morning on the terrace and the food was delicious. The room was lovely and having wine in the room to purchase was a great idea.

We found out as we were leaving that the hotel would shuttle people to the neighboring wineries on a golf cart. We would have liked to use that amenity. We also found out that with our stay we were eligible for a free tasting next door, but when we tried to book it, they were mostly booked up. We didn't get to do that, and we really would have liked to. Had we known about it on booking, or in an email before, we would have scheduled in advance.

Super clean and spacious rooms. Beautiful interiors and Georgian architecture makes it stand out. Room service was fabulous and we had tea and breakfast ordered which arrived very quickly. Love the place.

Front desk staff can be a little more creative with their ideas. We stayed on our anniversary and so asked them if it would he possible to arrange a small note/chocolates/wine etc to be placed on the bed as a surprise for my wife and I would be willing to pay for the charges, but they didn't make any effort and simply asked me to call up the restaurant and get the arrangements done myself. Haven't seen this sort of attitude in the hospitality industry. Not sure if that's the way things work there. Otherwise, no complaints. Front desk folks willingly let us check out at 12 when requested.

Facilities and staff were wonderful. We all will be back next year!

Room 209 Need to have the railing firmly fixed in place. The flooring is good but need to fix the cast iron table, it is very wobbly. Air conditioner needs to be checked as it ws cycling every 90 seconds and the fan needs to be checked for noise. Rm 210 does need balcony flooring replaced as screws are coming out of the worn floorboard. One risk factor for seniors will be ensuring the hot water temperature needs regulation to a safe temp! Room, including bathroom, is spacious and includes an espresso machine. Cart access to Peller Estates Winery. Bed comfortable. Welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine. Great patio outside restaurant with view of vineyards and estates

The balcony needs repairs - some tiles were cracked, pieces of which were scattered around balcony making it dangerous to walk in bare feet or socks; the screen door did not close properly and the screen was ripped; the door to the balcony did not lock. Need an engineering degree (or a 12 year old!) to operate the TV.

Lovely location near to the Peller Estate. Quiet location with views of the garden and vineyard. Room was spacious and well decorated with a very comfortable bed. A nice feature was the gas flame effect fire in the room which was very cozy. Easy check-in process and was offered a glass of sparkling wine at check-in. Breakfast was extra, but was excellent with good service.

Could have had a Level 2 Charging Station for EV cars. They did offer an outside outlet that I was able to charge from, however. No lounge area inside, but do have a lovely patio outside if the weather is warm enough.

Absolutely stunning location surrounded by the vines with a beautiful patio to enjoy a glass of wine and some excellent food from the restaurant. The hotel also provides bikes to rent for free for you to cycle into the main town (about 12 mins away by bike) or explore the neighbouring vineyards of which there are many! In addition to everything on site you also get a free tasting at the Peller Estate next door (worth $25 per person). The room we had (Deluxe King Room) was huge and had fantastic high ceilings and a lovely small patio to look out on to the vines. The bed was very comfortable and huge! Also want to add a special commendation to Kelson in the restaurant. He couldn't have been better and his stories and jokes were excellent!

The hotel didn't tell us about the free tastings at Peller - we only learned about this when we happened to mention to them where we were staying so that could have been better advertised. The restaurant was also unfortunately closed during our entire stay (Tuesday and Wednesday) for dinner and we had heard it was excellent so that was disappointing.
