McGee's Inn

I was there with a friend for 1 night, in a 2-bed suite. It was a lovely place! Very clean, comfortable, quiet, staff was very helpful. Breakfast was great, it was freshly cooked, a la carte, not like some inns or hotels where the complimentary breakfast was a buffet that had been sitting there for hours! Overall experience was fantastic! The wifi was ok - I did get kicked off a couple of times, so I had to log back in, but when I was on it, it was pretty fast. I had to attend an event at the National Arts Centre, so the location was quite good - short 15-min. walk. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit!

The free wifi could be a little more stable. I got interrupted twice but logging back in was no problem. And when I was connected, it was fast.

Well located, very friendly and exceptionally nice staff, very nice deco and attention to every single detail. Nice breakfast, most of dishes very containing eggs, as a vegan I couldn’t eat them but the staff made fruit salad and toasts for me- much appreciated:)

Our room (n14) was placed between the reception and kitchen- we could hear guests arriving and checking in or out, staff’s conversation.. we were not so bothered but I imagine someone else would be. I would still give 10 points for this stay, but our bathroom was outside of our room. It was not in the room which was making us quite uncomfortable to get up at night and being stressed that we gonna bump into staff or other guests …

Good breakfast. Very interesting property. Good value and central location. Will stay here again when we're next in Ottawa.

Location is nice, walk to downtown in 5-10 minutes. Private parking upfront. Nice breakfast, you can choose from the menu, mostly eggs and pancakes. But fine to start the day. Rooms were clean, big enough and bed was nice. Interieur is a bit dated, but thats the charme

A lot of homeless people in the area. Didnt see that many people together in other cities. If you take a street nearby, that makes its more comfortabele to walk around.

the building is very well kept and well maintained. the room was beautyful and clean. the staff was friendly and the breakfast where you can choose from 6 different freshly prepared dishes very good.

unfortunately ottawa has a strong homeless and opioid problem. the addicts on the street are unfortunately also close to the hotel. this didn't bother our stay at the hotel, as addicts are really on every corner in ottawa.

Excellent and delicious breakfast with variety of choices!

Nothing about MCGees needs to change at all. However it was not an option to cancel theough Booking.com the last night of my reservation after Swoop airlines changed our day of departure from Ottawa meaning I paid for a night we did not use. That was unfortunate and would prevent me from using Booking.com again. Next time I will book directly with McGees.

It was a beautiful Inn. Great location and for my group it was easy to walk to the sites we wanted to see. The breakfast was excellent & many options available. The staff; who we really only saw at breakfast since we were out for the day, were really super and we enjoyed meeting them.

The drain for the sink in the bathroom was slow but when we asked if it could be checked it was followed through on in the same day. Contacting someone in the main office was not always easy.

This is an old mansion converted to a small hotel or B&B. Nice luxurious decor with old elements. The dining room looks like in a palace. Sitting area with tables outside. About 1 km from the center but parking is provided and it is quiet. Very nice and efficient service. Could be heaven if bikes were available onsite.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was individual and comfy.

Location was good for getting in to town. Ottawa seems to have a significant homeless issue and it was sometimes uncomfortable walking to and from the centre. Of course that isn’t the fault of the hotel but has to be taken in to consideration when out and about.

Choice of menu for breakfast with non-gluten options. Charmingly furnished. Very quiet. Walking distance of Parliament bulidings etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend it highly.

This is a house that was built in 1868, with several flights of stairs No problem for us, but folks with mobility problems might find it difficult.
